Like many of the rest of you, i am just heartbroken today, i was so hopeful we would get our day to shine and make up for those 4 Super Bowl losses. I am sure most you have read my posts during the season, yes i am one of the most pessimistic on this site and always the doubting Thomas. LMAO! Today i know something great is just getting started and the franchise is about to enjoy some great long-term success. Do we have some holes, yes and so does every other team in this league. The one thing that brings a smile to my face is despite the small holes to fill the most important position on the field is finally looking very good after so many years of searching for that guy. Yes Allen was not at his best yesterday but fans should remember that Patrick Mahomes also failed in his first attempt in a championship game, keep the faith because the sun is going to shine on this team and Allen is just getting started. So thanks to all Bills players who made this season my season of hope that "yes we can and we will be winning a Super Bowl in the coming years" Cheers

I don't mind taking a flyer in 4th or 5th round on a pure speed WR or RB, you cannot coach speed and once Brown went down we lost our ability to stretch the field.

32 rush yards from our running backs

That drop to me was the end of his time with the Bills, he is not good enough as a runner to be dropping wide open passes. Had open field in front of him and if he made those plays that KC was conceding it would have opened up single coverage on WR'S downfield. They basically gave us that because they were not concerned of any of our RB'S breaking a big play. So if we want to beat KC, you beat them at their own game and start adding speed at skilled positions like RB & TE -
I think even Patrick suffered a loss in first attempt at championship game, Josh will learn from this one but the players around him also need to do better. Had our defence create a couple of turnovers that would have helped. Frazier played a soft zone allowing KC to both chew clock and score, no attempt to get shots into Mahomes and make him uncomfortable after return with both a bad toe anfd concussion. KC's plan was to rush hard off the ends forcing Josh to step up, KC also knows Mitch Morse's weakness is standing up to a hard push up the middle which forced Allen to back peddle over stepping up in the pocket. How many plays did we see Allen back peddling towards his own endzone? I remember the one 3rd a goal from inside the 5 yard liner line where Allen threw the ball from outside of his own 15 Get him a feature RB with speed along with an attacking defence that gets turnovers and Allen will be just fine.

I liked what we saw in Williams who played in Miami game, showed a burst that neither Moss or Singletary provided us. That was against a top Miami defence, with cap money lean i would give him a serious look. I think they will need to cut guys and absorb some dead money hits to create cap room, Beane did not have a great free agent offseason last year and we need to do better. Even getting one big play maker on defence would help get this team to another level The defence was a problem as season, we need them to get off the field and reduce those 3rd and long conversations they kept conceding. I like your suggestion of signing Still for 2-3 million. Do we say goodbye to both Butler and Jefferson which saves us a combined 15 million and only hits us with one mill dead money? Perhaps us that to get a monster D-LINE anchor player, as for Brown he would cost near 10 mill and only 1.6 mill dead money if cut. I don't see him worth that much, perhaps go sign AJ Green for 4-5 million as compliment #2 WR. Gives us size and is vet who most likely wants to play for a winner
-
AJ Klein is role player who they overpaid at 6 million, Beane needs to spend his money more wisely if we expect to beat KC
-
I thought Frazier was not prepared, after we scored our TD and took 9 point lead we should have not been conceding passes with soft zone and no pass rush. They should have sent quicker DB'S after Mahomes early, way too much time and he got real comfortable. KC just attacked Allen with a variety of blitzes off the corners and not allowing him to get outside of the pocket. They had a great gameplan and we did not I hope Frazier leaves because i would rather have an defense that gets after it, yes your going to give up some plays but you need to get shots on the QB and you cannot give up these time consuming slow death drives all game long
-
Did not matter, they let guys walk who thought they were worth more. Worse thing for a team is to start paying average players big money because your winning, i thought Beane's free agents signing were all overpays and if you check they contributed very little. I mentioned during free agency and was accused of being too negative. Our D line is highest paid in the NFL and that cannot continue because front 4 has difficult time getting pressure without bringing extra guys
-
I agree, yet we have fans on this site that keep saying we need to pay then man. The Patriots won Super Bowls because they refused to overpay guys who were not elite, let them walk if they want big money. You pay your big stars and he is not a big star

Romo commented many times that no one was getting separation
-
Did nothing most of the season, if you watched he could not get separation and cost Allen on interception. Will be on the wrong side of 30 with big cap number, time to part ways or he takes a big haircut to return

Just rewatched the game and a few observations

I mentioned after the game the team needed to address 3 needs, if i had to choose only two it would be RB and pass rushing DE -
I would pay Milano fair money, suggestions that we give him huge money would not be smart because he is not an elite play making LB. Good but not great, just because your winning does not mean you pay everyone. The fact is our defence contributed very little to our record this season
-
Who cares if Singletary gets hurt, i hope he is on another team next season . Made the biggest blunder of the game with that dropped pass, has looked super slow for this league since we drafted him and we need an upgrade. I would keep Moss who at least offers power running and let Singletary go, great guy but if you want to beat KC it is must to get a new feature RB with big play ability both on the ground and through the air.

End of the day Reid and his coaches had a great game plan, they decided to give us passes to our RB'S and TE'S and took away big plays from our WR'S. They came better prepared and when you include the talent they have on both sides of the ball are very tough to beat. I feel good because of Allen who will learn from this game and Beane who i hope also learns that they need an upgrade at RB position. I think the best thing we can do to help Allen out is improve our defence that takes the ball away.

McDermott says “they’ve got a lot of speed”

Ford was a waste, was a huge reach and has done next to nothing so far while Metcalf looks like he will be a HOF WR -
I find it amazing how people keep repeating that we pay Milano whatever, i don't see some elite LB . He is good but not great, 8-10 million range over 3-4 seasons is fair for what he brings. Beane has to be careful with any defensive signings, we won because of offence and our defence was trash most of the year. Last thing you need is a bunch of overpaid average players on defence and get stuck in salary cap jail. The DE was overpaid and did nothing exciting most of the year
-
Yup, KC looked very average against the Browns. Brutal game plan on both sides of the ball
-
That team had 4 HOF players Jim Kelly at QB Andre Reed at WR Thurman Thomas at RB Bruce Smith -DE Alllen could be a HOF talent Diggs could be a HOF talent RB? need a stud DE- need a stud Get a couple of studs at those two positions and were comparable with Super Bowl those teams who also lost their first championship game against the high scoring Bengals in their stadium.

They keep drafting speed and more speed -
32 rush yards from our running backs
Niagara Dude replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe, one thing i don't want to see is Sean gets involved in the offence and we get away from a pass heavy offence. Its a passing league, the teams that pass the best usually win. Caveman football is for losers -

Diggs was talked about the same way, that is total nonsense -
You also need to keep adding weapons for Allen, look what happened tonight. Our offence will carry the load, once we get leads we need to get pressure on QB'S to retain leads and create turnovers.

He was but many people on this site thought he would not fit in, great size/speed combo -

Have you seen how slow to the line either back is?
