What is better, no guns, or more guns?

Drive to a store. Fill out paperwork. Wait for background check. Get gun. ORRRR Drive to bridge. Jump. Sounds more efficient to me. -

Why do hospitals/doctors push your approval to let you die?
BringBackOrton replied to bbb's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It’s both. In all likelihood, the physicians know that person is going to suffer unnecessarily so they can drink a jello cup through a straw for a month, then be back on the vent. People are too scared to die. Your friend should take solace that she acted in the way her father would have wanted. And you should take solace that you didn’t put your mother through another month in the hospital to fight a losing battle. It’s hard to think objectively about this sort of thing. If I told you you would have a 1 in a million chance to rebound after being intubated for 6 months at 95 years, and “rebound” means supplemental oxygen, dialysis, PT, and a living facility where they wipe your butt, you’d say, “I’d rather just go.” But you ask that question in the moment, faced with your own mortality? You might say “I want everything.” That’s probably not true, you’re just too scared to die. -
Raiders Fire GM Reggie McKenzie

Sure you do. It’s quite honestly the second most important position in the NFL. There’s a reason star pass rushers almost never get traded, even on rebuilding teams. Cam Jordan, Von Miller, Donald, Watt/Clowney, Cam Wake, etc. Hell, even Jerry Hughes is likely the second most untouchable guy on our roster. Now the natural counter argument is “how many rings do those guys have” which is a silly one. There is obviously no position besides HoF QB which directly correlates with rings. But those guys have been key pieces on playoffs teams and more. Now if you want to say that Gruden has a good idea who is the next star QB and that’s who he is aiming for, fine. But I think he’s no better a talent evaluator than anyone else, and he took an unnecessary step back. But if he drafts the next Brady, I’ll be wrong. If he drafts the next Tannehill and mires in .500 land, he’ll be gone before his contract is half up. Yeah no. The two time All-Pro had a huge discernible impact on the field, if you watched him play. -

I guess the thought process is you shouldn’t need to trade your two best players to rebuild your roster in today’s NFL. You can say Amari Cooper was underperforming it checked out and I get that. But Mack was not. The dirty little secret is that Mack was traded because the Raiders have a cash flow problem and couldn’t afford him. Intentional or not, Davis chose Gruden over Mack. -

Yeah and partly our offense has struggled this year because of last years moves (Sammy, Gillislee, Woods etc.) Last year, our offense sucked too. -

Uh, we traded away several former first and second round picks and replaced them with bargain bin players. -

It's just a few games, but defense is still king

Brees doesn't have 5 rings....so HoF QB's don't matter. I suspect if you're incapable of seeing how silly the above is, this conversation will go nowhere. -

And 31 teams don't do it every year. Does that mean everything they did doesn't matter? Some of them have good offenses, ergo good offenses don't matter. Some of them have good defenses, or good QB's or good EDGE players or good DB's, does that mean none of those things matter? -

Everyone. Also, losing in the Superbowl doesn't make you a failure, or "not matter." -
What Was the Primary Reason the Bills Lost (NYJ)?
BringBackOrton replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear you, but allowing 24 points in 3 Q's is no bueno. And allowing couple of long third down conversions. Seems like we didn't get any big stops after the first Q. The Jets started with the ball in the RZ and we held them to three in the first Q. That was the defenses' only big stop of the game. Get off of the field. -

I disagree. We we were up 14-3 against a rookie QB. The vaunted #2 defense should be able to maintain that lead. Period. -

The number 3 defense is 9-4.
