The 60's Music... or Crazy Purple Things
The Frankish Reich replied to BringMetheHeadofLeonLett's topic in Off the Wall
Thanks - I've read the descriptions of the fire and it was horrible. We had relatives in Cheektowaga when I was a kid in the mid/late 60s. I can't believe I'd never heard about the fire until this year. Maybe people didn't want to talk about it? -

Thanks. I admit I do need to practice that “when they go low, we go higher” thing. -

No, I didn't notice whatever it is you are trying to say. I was too enraptured by the photo of Trump without full makeup. -
A thread for speculation. And for amusement, as we point out the the Road to Mar-a-Lago conversions to Trumpism of the various contenders. First up: Byron Donalds, Florida Congressman. “Trump is a huge distraction, and cares more about himself than the country in my opinion, but I could care less about him,” Donalds wrote in a Facebook post in April 2011 when discussing Trump’s claims that Obama’s birth certificate was fake. “I don’t question his religion or his citizenship,” Donalds said. “Quite a few Democrats and liberals still think Bush caused 9/11.” “Trump is a self-promoter yelling about 25% tariffs on China,” Donalds said in the same string of Facebook posts. In other public comments from the same time, Donalds argued against Trump’s calls to boost US manufacturing, saying it was cheaper to make clothes in China than in Michigan, and said he favored privatizing entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare, which would be better as a “voucher,” along with raising the retirement age. A spokesman for Donalds defended him in a comment to CNN. “President Trump is considering Byron as his running mate because of the Congressman’s steadfast support for the 45th President and his historic policy agenda. The fact that these decade-old posts are now resurfacing in the middle of running mate deliberations is weak but typical of CNN.” https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/29/politics/kfile-byron-donalds-trump-criticisms/

Ashli Babbitt probably would have been, but like many mentally disturbed criminals she committed suicide by cop before we had the chance.

The Democrat cartel

⬆️ The Ironclad Rule of Trumpy Projection, in which the supporters of the party that officially call for outlawing gay marriage accuse everyone else of being what they are. I just read in my Bible, King Donald edition (2024 rev.) the following: "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable" (Leviticus 18:22) and "If a man lies with a man as one lies with woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads" (Leviticus 20:13). -

Just pointing out that you and your buddies here started and contributed to a thread mocking the very idea of the LGBTQ+ for Palestine march, presumably because the LGBTQ+ participants were foolishly ignoring what Hamas thinks about LGBTQ+ people. So presumably Greenwald's similar support for Gaza/criticism of Israel makes him equally foolish. Or self-hating. Call it what you will. It's kind of like a black man supporting Botha's apartheid regime. -

A friendly reminder, Tommy Boy: I've got more from that thread if you're interested. -

It was stupid at the time, and it's been proven even more stupid with the passage of time. But it also is kind of Trump's position, no? -

According to many here, I'm a self-hating later middle aged white guy because I don't necessarily vote my pure economic interest. Meanwhile: Greenwald does need to think about how his life and family would be accepted in Palestine. -

If you watch the video you'll see that he is essentially one of the "Gays for Gaza" that people ruthlessly mock here ... -

I will wait for Tiffany Hookerlips to weigh in on Glenn Greenwald since I am not capable of independent thought. -

Something I find endlessly fascinating: why do people post tweets like this on this forum? Who is "Tiffany?" Why quote her other than simply saying it yourself? After quoting Axelrod, she adds the incredibly insightful, "Democrats don't like people. They like money and power." Couldn't have just said that yourself? I look to see who she is: 52 year old Trump supporter with bad lip injections. Is this some kind of appeal to authority? The authority of Tiffany Hookerlips? -
New kick off rule voted thru by owners
The Frankish Reich replied to The Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall
And yet the NFL gets more and more popular. You're really not gonna want to watch the kickoff returns now? It is already dead. I recall one last year: Sean Payton started his Broncos coaching career with a stupid onside kick that put his team in a hole, thinking he could repeat the true surprise Saints' Super Bowl onside kick. This is probably the next thing to be addressed: how to make the onside kick relevant again, giving the kicking team at least a reasonable chance of getting possession, or maybe instituting a whole different rule as a substitute. You beat me to it. -
The 60's Music... or Crazy Purple Things
The Frankish Reich replied to BringMetheHeadofLeonLett's topic in Off the Wall
Time for me to put in a plug for my favorite podcast ever: https://500songs.com/ A ridiculously ambitious project of one guy, Andrew Hickey. Even if you thought you knew the history or rock music front-to-back you'll learn things. For example, I never knew about his guy till I heard one of his paid bonus (1 buck a month!) episodes: Jackson C. Frank, from Buffalo, a survivor of the horrific Cheektowaga school fire (something else I never knew about even though it was not that long before my time). -
https://www.ajc.com/politics/georgia-judge-rules-that-republican-brian-k-pritchard-voted-illegally/M4A27QQNQJDW7MTI66MRF5B4EQ/ I found an illegal voter! Trump will now need to "find" one more vote in Georgia than he previously demanded. What? Where does the Bible say "thou shalt not grab 'em by the kitten?"

Your 2024 Republican Party
The Frankish Reich replied to BillStime's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
From what I can tell, she is an Idaho state legislator. Was Idaho in the confederacy? So standing with that flag isn't the old "just expressing my heritage" thing that's always used as an excuse. It means one thing and one thing only: she's a racist.
