Griswold (how's that for editing, hotair.com!) established the very same right to privacy on which its successor, Roe, depended. When Alito and friends pulled the right to privacy rug out from under the plaintiffs in Dobbs, Griswold was left equally susceptible. So the only thing keeping it in place is that no state has seen fit to re-legislate Griswold-type limits on contraception. Yet. Things like IUDs and morning after pills are absolutely susceptible to "life begins at conception" based laws. The Democrats are right to put Republican Senators on the record here. Why wouldn't they recognize that Griswold is still good law?

Post Your All-Star Bills Roster…of Backups?

I agree. I thought we had a real find there. In retrospect, Karlos shows how difficult it is to be an NFL success. He had all the physical abilities and toughness. But you need to work, work, work. And he had a running style that made him susceptible to concussions. And apparently a life outside football that wasn't conducive to success on the field. Kind of a sad story. -

Spelled the same way? If so, that's some devotion. -
Look, there's going to be a debate in a few weeks. I don't expect it, but here's what I'd like to see: basic questions about the world and the USA. Who is the President/Prime Minister of Spain? (I don't know the answer to that off the top of my head, but I'm not running for President). What is the price of crude oil, and how has it been trending year to date? How many cases are pending in our immigration courts? Do you have a plan to address that? They say the mods will kill the mics of the candidate not responding. Good. Give them time to show their mastery (or lack thereof) on various topics.

I have to agree. Where did this "better to post some unknown's tweet than to say it myself" thing come from? It makes it look like some kind of appeal to authority, but what authority? In most cases, none at all.

Your 2024 Republican Party
The Frankish Reich replied to BillStime's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I know by now that I should know better. But I still find myself checking to make sure we're not getting pranked. And yes, it appears that we are not getting pranked and that a U.S. Congresswoman actually said this. EDIT: But probably not! Which proves the point: you just can't tell without researching it. https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSL1N3590Z4/ RELATED: Kyrie "Flat Earth" Irving plays tomorrow night. Still can't beat Senate candidate Herschel Walker, from the same fine state: "How come if human are descended from apes there's still apes?" -

It was civil disobedience, and I'm not going to criticize these people for engaging in it. But here's what comes with civil disobedience: arrest and prosecution. https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/final-defendant-sentenced-federal-conspiracy-against-rights-and-freedom-access-clinic -
I don't know who "Thomas Tatum" is, but it is important to note that the issue here is not constitutional; it is one of statutory interpretation. I do think that this Supreme Court will find that section 1512 doesn't apply to Capitol protesters, although to get there they will have to go beyond the plain words of the text and look to legislative history, which is something the Alito types say you really shouldn't do. Unless of course it achieves a result they otherwise want.

So did Russian state media run Tucker's show? Yes or no. then, if yes, the next question is "did he approve of them running it" through a licensing agreement, etc.

The Pride Flag / Month: Intersectionality

https://www.9news.com/article/news/local/local-politics/colorado-gop-call-burn-gay-pride-flags/73-e5156582-2888-46d2-b535-d5981c149817 I live in Colorado. It wasn't so long ago (10 years?) that I voted for Republican Senator Cory Gardner, a decent and honorable man. He has no place in the current party. What has happened to the Republican Party here is disgusting. They are lost in Trumpian "own the libs" nonsense that is losing them a whole generation. Or generations. It's not just "burn the flag" - it's a semi-official endorsement of a truly offensive banner. Click on the link. -
Hunter Biden trial starts today
The Frankish Reich replied to 4th&long's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The defense is pretty straightforward here: Hunter's attorney is arguing that the phrasing on the ATF form allow wiggle room It is basically "are you addicted or a user of [controlled substances]," phrased like that, in the present tense. It's kind of a Clintonesque "depends what the meaning of is is" loophole. He's arguing that while he was a user/addict, he didn't knowingly provide a false declaration because on the day he filled out the form he has come out of rehab and was no longer a user. I'm not sure what evidence there is for that other than his own testimony, which of course he may decide not to offer. He's boxed in though: his own memoir has him heavily using right up to the time he got back to Delaware, and there's a text to his (official) girlfriend at the time, Hallie Biden, the very next day in which he clearly says he's meeting with a "dealer." So the wiggle room would seem to be: a was an addict user up until the start of the month; I then rehabbed and stopped using; I then signed the declaration; the very next day I fell off the wagon and contacted my dealer again. So ... circumstantial. Just like Trump in the hush money case, this is the stupid case to bring. The tax case coming up later this summer is the one that matters, as is Trump's DC (and GA) cases, which are unfortunately stalled due to a meddling S.Ct. and a horny stupid unethical GA DA. -
I was prescribed ivermectin years ago, in a cream form to treat rosacea. Worked like a charm. Fascinating reason why. And yes, we all have them, but it only causes problems in some people and often from time to time. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/10/25/multimedia/bugs-halloween-kids-ar-ul.html Face Mite These scaly microscopic mites live in the hair follicles and oil glands of your face. (Two face mite species are found just on humans. Lucky us). We don’t know what they’re eating exactly — it could be our oils, skin cells or microbes — but it’s enough to keep them content for their entire lives (a few weeks). “I like to think of them as grazers,” Dunn says. Face mites mostly move around your face during the night because they don’t like bright light.
