  1. I have long assumed that my SS number is available out there to anyone who really wants it. So just watch your credit carefully. Free annual credit reports, app notifications every time a card is used, etc. So far my only issue: several fairly minimal bogus charges to credit cards.
  2. The California bar exam, at least back in her day, was a grueling 3 full day affair. I know a lot of smart people who failed it the first time. It is graded anonymously, and passing it, even on the second try, does establish some baseline of smarts and dedication.
  3. Which explains why Trump was able to move all U.S. personnel out of Afghanistan without harm to a single one. I mean, he did complete the withdrawal, right? Oh.
  4. To be perfectly fair, he wasn't sure whether Trump was America's Hitler or whether he was just a cynical a-hole like Nixon. In my adult life people as dumb as George W. Bush and Donald Trump have been President. People as dumb as Dan Quayle have been Vice President People as dumb as Sara Palin have been nominated to be Vice President If you're looking for that Mensa meeting, here's a hint: it's probably not being held in the Oval Office.
  5. Agree. Still the best formal tie knot. Plus a large tie knot isn't a great idea on a man of his neck girth. Overall the poorly tailored suits do the job of hiding his weight issues, which is why the Fat Trump photos are almost always of him in a golf shirt. But of course James Bond was no fan of the RAF official Windsor knot: “It was tied with a Windsor knot. Bond mistrusted anyone who tied his tie with a Windsor knot. It showed too much vanity. It was often the mark of a cad. Bond decided to forget his prejudice.”
  6. From the article: “The new standards will also require only a small portion of models to make modest improvements to their energy efficiency to match the level of efficiency already demonstrated by the majority of the market today,” the agency said in its January press release announcing the rule. “For example, approximately 97 percent of gas stove models and 77 percent of smooth electric stove models on the market already meet these standards.” So they're not banning gas stoves after all. Or even "going after" gas stoves. They may be "going after" a tiny portion of gas (and electric) stoves that are very energy inefficient. But The Daily Caller isn't about to tweet out "Biden Administration Tightens Gas/Electric Stove Standards; New Rule to Affect Only 3% of Gas Stoves."
  7. BS. Kind of incomprehensible BS. "I've always voted in New York even though I haven't lived there is decades" is really his defense? He had claimed that a room in Katonah was his residence. If NY were a battleground state you'd be calling his NYS votes "voter fraud." Dude is a lawyer. He knows better. He shouldn't have picked a Californian as his running mate. You know, the Constitution and all that.
  8. Agreed. That Communist/Marxist crap is about as productive as the Fascist/Nazi thing.
  9. Or maybe it was just a comment about tie knots.
  10. There really needs to be a betting market on Trump speeches. Over/Under, Number of Times He Will Deliberately Mispronounce "Kamala" - 3.5 Will Mention Hannibal Lecter - Yes/No Will Refer to "Lyin' Kamala" vs. "Crooked Kamala" vs. "Laffin' Kamala" - 3:1 odds Will Mention Sharks - Even Will Mention Sharks in Relation to Battery-Powered Boats - 2:1
  11. Amusing, but I must disagree about the tie knot. It is classic, not outdated. A nice small knot with the obligatory dimple. Nothing wrong with that. Yes, it's too long, but the knot is actually perfect.
  12. Hoax. I've been to Fresno. No one in Fresno is buying a baguette.
  13. Are you sure you want to improve those reading scores? That would only cut into your Poorly Educated base.
  14. Stolen Valor! https://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/news/politics/sheehy-gunshot-senate-tester-montana-glacier/article_f112e499-9dbd-502f-aaa0-12b0ff18cee5.html
  15. He picked a Californian gold digger as his running mate. Since the constitution says the prez and VP can't be from the same states, Californian RFK said he's a NY resident. It appears the judge called him on his bs. Boo-hoo.
  16. Those numbers are still YOY. The current month-to-month inflation rate - the amount by which prices are actually increasing today - is much lower. We've beaten back inflation.
  17. And here we go again. Stephen Miller preparing the Trump waters for the inevitable "rigged election" dispute and multiple Trumpie state election officials refusing to certify. You beat me to it.
  18. It's a joke. But ... ... what would be wrong about adopting policy positions that the majority of Americans agree with? We criticize candidates for being "too progressive/left" or "too conservative/right." In other words, out of step with the majority of Americans - a majority that we consider more sensible than politicians who have been dragged to the extremes by pandering to their special interest bases. This was a big part of the appeal of Trump in 2016. He was an outsider, not beholden to the special interests that run both parties, and therefore able to speak for the majority of common sense Americans.
  19. Well now you know how unhinged, angry, incoherent some people are around here. Policy talk? I enjoy that. So do some others. So don't be intimidated by the fools.
  20. I have to disagree Communication is his greatest strength. I’d go so far as to say his only strength as a politician. He is a master of making people believe something through sheer repetition. The “only I can fix it” type of thing. The “don’t believe your eyes and ears, the January 6 rioters were patriots and meant no harm.” Three and a half years ago that was a joke. All the other Republican leaders were shocked by what happened right in front of them. They still are privately shocked. But the Trump base? They believe him now. They actually think it was a good thing. There are not many politicians who can accomplish that. It is a superpower that I happen to believe is being used for evil, not good.
  21. Trump: I’m so incredibly popular that probably 20 million people will want to watch my interview with Musk. Musk: a million people tried to log in; must be a DDOS attack!
