I agree.
While it isn’t a given that they get screwed out of the player they want, it gives them far less in assets by taking the number 1 pick away - a pick they’d likely trade for a handful of assets that could be the 5th overall pick and a first in 2026.
That said, this is a very possible outcome this week for the bottom 8 teams:
Philly resting starters vs the 3 win Giants. Giants go to 4-13 bc Daboll doesn’t care about tanking.
Houston is going to rest guys at the 3 win Titans. Titans are home. 4-13
Chargers are going to beat Vegas - 4-13
Indy will beat Jacksonville - 4-13
Miami beats Jets - 4-13
Packers beat Bears - 4-13.
Bills lose to the Pats bc Maye plays 4-13
Atlanta beats Panthers - 4-13.
Ravens destroy the Browns. The Browns finish 3-14 benching the “injured” Jameis pays off.
The Browns are on the clock with the first pick.
