  1. These kinds of lingering injuries happen with increasing frequency when RBs get old and have a lot of mileage. I think we heard that about 5,000 times this summer so why is anyone surprised?

    McCoy is 27.

What was Thurman's workload up to this point in his career? He was almost never hurt.

Gore, AP, Lynch...all 3 plus years older and all are rarely injured.

We should get 2 peak years out of McCoy without question.

    Thurman: 1,731 carries by 27.

McCoy who just turned 27 is at 1,478 carries.

2 more peak years. That's what I'd expect.

  2. D'angelo Williams just shredded them.

They are going to have 7-8 in the box determined to not let that happen. They will make Taylor beat them. Shocker. That's how it's going to be every week. But not after this one. Tyrod's going to be big. Has to be.

Game plan needs to be pass to set up the run. I expect Woods Watkins and Harvin to get off. Turn Tyrod loose. I expect a close game, and playing it safe vs Brady = disaster.

If I'm Roman I'd also have about 50 screens ready to go.

  3. I know this may sound odd.....but I don't think McCoy and Fred could coexist. Not necessarily personality wise. But you have the old dog who's captain and the brash new young (still) buck used to being THE man in Phily. How we feel about Fred...that's how Eagles fans were with McCoy. Not sure how that dynamic would work here.

    This is Shady's show now.

I'm completely on DW's side here.

  4. I've been neutral about this QB competition. Cassel didn't look very good to me yesterday. If that's what the offense is going to look like with him under center, it's going to be a boring and frustrating season. EJ has a mental issue - his QB play remind me of my golf game - when he is relaxed and just goes out and plays, he can look great. But that one incompletion - and I know it's a nitpick - was vintage EJ Yips. He thought too much and his mechanics fell apart. I'm sure it's terrifying for the coaches to see that. The problem with EJ is mental not physical, which is very hard for coaches to deal with. TT looked the best of the three but I still need to see a touchdown pass out of him in the redzone. That's what would worry me if I were his coaches.May have been a classic EJ tip but no it wasnt a yip

You know how many of those throws Jay Cutler, Sam Bradford, Ryan Tannehill, and Andy Dalton make a game?

And some were ready to trade anything to get Cutler.

Do Bills fans even watch other games?

  5. Dear WGR clown show,

Darby's baptism by fire is exactly why we have to have "meaningless" preseason games.

    That is all.

    Thanks

Let me add to that....all summer we heard from coaches and the beat guys---"oh he looks legit. And yea we trust him."

Live bullets start: We might have a CB 2 problem.

  6. While that's not a good idea, one does sometimes get the feeling that EJ is too much of a "people pleaser" and wonder if he's willing to get in someone's face - an OLman who totally whiffed, a WR who took a route off - when he needs to

Kidding aside, I do think that's one of, if not the biggest knock on EJ, he needs to learn to be a leader and command the offense. In last week's preseason game, when he was getting shelled by the Browns defensive line, 3rd string o-line or not, he should have been in those guys faces basically screaming at them and telling them how to do their job. Remember how Kelly used to be, he would never have let his o-line pull that crap. The great QB's simply elevate the guys around them. There's still lots of time for EJ, would be great to see it click with him, and if not, throw him on the scrap heap.

What QB do you see do this today? With our tire fire at oline last year, did you ever see that from Orton?

Kelly could do that bc those guys were all great players and had the personalities that responded to that. The kids these days don't appreciate getting chewed out on national TV....let alone by a QB that's done nothing in the league yet. Only prima dona WRs are allowed to chew people out on the sidelines.

  7. Maybe EJ is actually developing. Which everyone knew would take 2 or more seasons.

Maybe TT has developed and is ready.

I'm excited about both right now honestly. Well maybe not excited but optimistic.

Cassel is a good fall back plan.

I just don't understand why we're so quick to want to bury EJ. A QB that was always going to be a project. Now he has a legit NFL OC to polish him off.

Whatever...at this point I trust the coaches decision.

  8. He may have created an unnecessary media ruckus with this invite, but he owned up and canceled the party. He threw in that "there were no planned orgies" comment bc he knew what people were saying. But Jerry found that insulting. He answered every ridiculous question like a professional. I actually in reading his responses gained some new respect for him.

But that wasn't enough for Rodak and Jerry. Pressing on with "people want to know" why the confidentiality agreement? Are you kidding me? And Jerry managed to trash the QB situation AND mention his beloved Patriots*.

Of course he got agitated. He did nothing illegal. He's not running for office (reporters don't even grill them like that). He had to be thinking "are these clowns for real?"
