Bills' Roster Cuts to the 53 Man Limit
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where are all the gloaters about trusting the process and McBeane? -
For argument sake lets say over 27 is on the back nine of an NFL career. Maybe you're good for a year or two, maybe you start getting hurt all the time from the wear an tear. Anyway, who fits that on the Bills? Incognito, Wood, McCoy, Clay, Glenn, Taylor, Kyle, Hughes, Lorax ...our better players old role players? Humber, Ducasse, Colt Anderson, Yates, Tate, Tolbert, Banyard, TJones, Holmes, Ryan Davis, Wright, DiMarco Who are the young getting to prime guys? O'Leary, Mills, Groy, Yarborough, Hodges, Gaines, LJohnson, Philley And of course the good players in their prime for at least a few more years. Marcell and who knows with him, Preston, Matthews, Poyer, Hyde, Pretty mediocre group if you ask me! And then the rookies or unprovens Tre White, Z Jones, Shaq Lots of work to be done and moves like Eric Wood for leadership, culture and trading Sammy, releasing Reilly, Shorts. Trading Ragland and Seymour because they aren't our guys are hard to understand. The strategy is hard to explain. I have been an optimist with the team for the last several years. Choosing to support the new regime and the hope of change and new success. Give them a chance. I am willing to eat some crow that I was wrong on this. I am going to need to see some logic and real success, before that I am skeptical of what I've seen so far. The Sammy move when we could have franchised him and the Wood extension really got me going in that direction. Releasing the younger impressive receivers to keep old role players clinched it for me. We don't value young talent as much culture, scheme, and our guys.

The Wood extension last week blows my mind. Keeping guys like Taiwan, Colt Anderson ,Tate and trading for the guy from Carolina yesterday. Sounds like we value having veteran depth on our special teams over actual talent. Then they trade away, waive talented athletes to keep these kinds of role guys. These role guys will be gone by the time we're good. Talent is way more important when it is young. It can improve and get better, and may still be here when you're good. I'm thinking these guys are so focused on culture, schemes, roles, doing it our way that they are undervaluing talent. This regime has a long !@#$ing way to go to prove something.

Not worth the roster spot Mrs. Tate! -

Tate sucks and he is at best a mediocre return guy. Cutting Reilly and picking up Clay is a !@#$ing joke! These guys are starting to really scare me. -
Dumb move there are others who should have been waived before Reilly. Stupid.

Reilly gone? Cryptic text

Osweiler cut by browns, now with Broncos

Thank you! People are acting like we are loaded at QB. All the one guy said was at a min contract as a number 3. He is way better than Matt Barkley. -

I concur. We need another QB on this roster. -
Darby and Gilmore are both man cover guys. This staff wants zone cover guys who want to tackle (generally cheaper). You're fooling yourself if you think Ragland being a 3-4 Inside backer and not a 4-3 guy like he was drafted for had nothing to do with the trade. McDermott even said Reggie is a good player and that he will be at some point. You can also argue that Watkins was traded because this staff places a lower value on receivers in this offense. Enough...not sure why you're going this way.
-
I agree and I doubt they can get a 3rd for him. Obviously, every time we have changed coaching staffs we go from 4-3 to 3-4 to 4-3 and the recent trades of Darby and Ragland are examples. Gilmore may even have been an example. Miller could be next...Shaq? Happens all over the NFL...it is a coach's game...they don't adjust to the players as much as they should IMO.

Vlad Ducasse and John Miller
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to sb_bound's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Vlad only allows a couple sacks tonight he's the man! He will tie down the starting nod with a quality performance like that. He moved into the lead when we scored with him at RG last game. Seriously this is all about scheme, size, technique and dirty pictures! -
I don't disagree with you on any of this. I am beyond pissed at all the scheme changes and good players deemed unable to play in them. My point is these guys wouldn't have signed him, played him and moved him to first team if they didn't like him. They flat out have worn DuCasse on their sleeves since the beginning. BTW, DuCasse was in when we scored last week...I know, I know...these guys are looking for a reason to play him. Maybe Miller is traded not cut.

I like it because the dude was so dominate and his teammates obviously think he was deserving.
