Ian RapoportVerified account @RapSheet Ian Rapoport Retweeted Tom Pelissero Friday should be interesting Tom PelisseroVerified account @TomPelissero As the #Bills and #Steelers close in on a trade for Antonio Brown, one big question remains: Will AB go? He has said he wants a new contract and won't play if it's not by his rules. If Brown wants to blow this up, his weapon is saying he'll retire rather than play in Buffalo. 1:06 AM - 8 Mar 2019 Backpedaling is already starting........ The scrolling Breaking News Ticker with the news that has been running constantly on NFL Network is no longer there. I get the feeling this is falling apart. (EDIT: It is scrolling on occasion. Just not the constant scrolling it has had for the last hour and a half. Now it's running like every 10 minutes or so.) Still getting a bad feeling about all of this, though.

Ian RapoportVerified account @RapSheet 6s6 seconds ago Sources: The #Steelers are closing in on a deal to send star WR Antonio Brown to the Buffalo #Bills. There it is. Holy **** UPDATE: Brandon Beane himself said that while they're were serious talks, a deal is NOT happening after all. It was a fun few hours anyway. Ian Rapoport just took a serious credibility hit.

If the Jets don't trade back, there is a good chance we will be seeing Metcalf twice a year. Depending on how the QB position shakes out, he may have jest cemented himself a top 5 pick.
-
Man....I was hoping Metcalf would run 4.45....... 4.33 at his size? Are you kidding me? Well......he is definitely a top 10 pick now and maybe just became out of reach at 9. Crazy.

Report: Bills working on extension for Jordan Phillips

Yeah.....I definitely think they want him back. And so do I. I just don't want to overpay because I don't see him as a dominant starter at DT. He is a great rotational guy, though. -

Matt Parrino @MattParrino 47s48 seconds ago Despite tweet Jordan Phillips HAS NOT re-signed with #Bills just yet. Brandon Beane told reporters this week he’s hoping to chat with his reps in Indy this week. Stay tuned. Who knows what his tweet means, if anything, but if he does come back, I hope we get a decent price on him. He was pretty good at home, but sometimes invisible on the road. Consistency has always been an issue with him. -
I like Butler a lot. Not sure he will ever be a dominant WR, but I think he could do a lot of good things in the NFL. Anxious to see what a lot of these guys run.

On a side note, Patriots owner Robert Kraft was so happy with this news that he was heard screaming "Hookers for everybody" at the Pats* facility!

AAF needed $250m emergency investment to make payroll

Vince McMahon just negotiated a $2 Billion+ TV deal for WWE. I would be shocked if the XFL broadcasting rights didn't come up in those conversations at some point whether it would be with FOX and USA where Raw and SmackDown are located this Fall or with another network they had conversations with along the way. One advantage the XFL will have is that they have been through all this once before. Successful or not 20 years ago, there were plenty of lessons to be learned. I am sure they have a much better grasp on what challenges will be faced this time around. As a football fan, I hope one, or even both of these leagues, find success. -
He looks great and his film has some impressive moments. Not the biggest production in college, but may have the tools to excel in the NFL. He's obviously been putting in the work and while I do think combine numbers are overblown in most cases, I do think they will be important for him. Anxious to see what he runs and to see his fluidity and flexibility on routes and catching the ball to see if the extra muscle is more of a hindrance than a help. Combine numbers are not the be-all-end-all, but if he runs in the 4.45 range, he will really help himself a ton.

The only thing I haven't really liked is the lack of updates from the other game. They should be showing as many highlights from the league as possible.
-
So does a 35 second play clock and no ridiculous penalty calls.
-
There are 4-5 ideas i can think of off the top of my head. The biggest thing is that they don't want high speed collisions. So, implement a kickoff that doesn't allow for them. Just 1 idea would be to put plays at different parts of the field, some even in opponents territory, but just not allow them to run and tackle until the ball is caught by the return team. That's just 1. You just have to get creative. It can be done.
-
There are plenty of ways to keep kickoffs safe and still make them exciting.
-
I wouldn't say that. One benefit that they will have is that they can see what works and doesn't work for the AAF and tweak their own game. It will all come down to their presentation and quality of the game. As football fans, we want these leagues to succeed if only to perhaps improve the NFL in some way.
-
And that's fine. But when it is a clean hit on the QB like that was, there shouldn't be flags. NFL throws flags for breathing on QBs.
-
I like the additional audio of the players and coaches as well. So far, so good. And audio of the replay booth!!!!!!!!!!! That is awesome!!!
-
Say what you want, and I know it is very early, but I have enjoyed this so far. Big hits, the play has been pretty good, the pace of play is good, and no ridiculous penalties.
-
No way that wasn't a flag in the NFL..... If they are going to allow real hitting, that's awesome. Wasn't a fan of the placing of the ball at the 25, though. Very anticlimactic and now exciting at all. They should have found a way to FEATURE the kickoff and increase the excitement of it, not just dump it. So far, it hasn't been too bad.
