  1. I'm willing to bet that most everyone that is complaining about the pick probably hasn't watched a single snap Kincaid has played in his career and are just down on the pick because of the position he's listed at. And I get that, especially for those that were so locked in at WR being the pick no matter what. But I encourage those people to take a step back and actually put the time in to watch some tape of the guy......not necessarily just highlight reels (although they are a fun watch), but actual full games. He's a match-up nightmare. Some of his most impactful plays are the plays he doesn't even get the ball. He opens up things for other guys. While he's not the best blocker, he's functional at it. He's willing, but needs to add a bit of strength and refine his technique a bit. But being willing to do it is half the battle. What really stands out, again whether he gets the ball or not, is his route running and hands. Look, I am not comparing him to Kelce just yet, but you know how frustrating it is to watch Kelce play in and play out seem to be wide open all the time? Kincaid always seems to be open as well and offers much of that same frustration for opponents. He has great hands and can hurt you at every level of the field. He'll snap off the curl routes. He'll run the option routes. He'll catch the ball off motion in the backfield. Need someone to run the seam? He'll do that too. A lot of the success he has this year will come down to how creative Dorsey can get with him. Granted, I'm nervous that Dorsey might be in over his head a bit and may not have the required creativity, but we have to hope he can figure it out. If I'm Dorsey, I'm running Chiefs tape constantly and transferring their usage of Kelce straight to our playbook. Again, I am not saying he's Kelce, but we can hope for "Kelce light" and do a lot of similar things with him. It will take some time. TE is usually one of those positions that takes a while to translate to the NFL, but this guy plays smart and being that they won't be using him much inline and almost exclusively as a pass catcher should shorten the learning curve early on. So, those of you that are upset.....take a breath. Find some All-22 tape on him and actually watch him play. I think you'll relax a bit. Finally.....just a quick add to this. I have always been a firm believer that an easy way to have success in the NFL is to make sure you do something that nobody else is doing. That way, when teams play you, they have to prepare for something that they don't see all the time and it may force them to do things on defense they don't normally do. There aren't a lot of teams out there right now that can run 12 personnel with sustained success because they just don't have the weapons to do it. Kincaid immediately comes in and becomes one of the best route running and catching TEs in the league. While his overall game may take some time to translate, there will be packages we will be able to run in 12 with Knox that will create real difficult match-ups for defenses that they will have to adapt to in-game even though he won't be playing a majority of snaps. That in itself will hopefully give us somewhat of an advantage this year, and even more of an advantage as he learns the NFL game over the next few years.
  2. The dude is a weapon. While his blocking leaves the something to be desired, but he could be "Kelce light" with his route running. Might be the best overall pass catcher in the draft regardless of position. If he can translate his game to the NFL quickly, he will make plays for us and fill in the missing slot position we don't have. Blocking can be taught if he's willing to learn. May not be a WR by trade, but he is a weapon on offense and I'm all for that.

  4. Bills on the clock!
  5. That one hurt our chances at getting a WR. Too many others, including the Chargers right here, looking at WR. The good news is that there are still very good players on the board and we should hopefully get one of them.
  6. Pats* traded down and still have the chance to maybe the best CB in the draft...... or JSN if they want to go that way, but man the board fell well for them. Stinks.
  7. In other words, the bidding war they were trying to create with all of their "leaks" didn't materialize the way they hoped and they don't want to admit they are going to have to settle or cut him.
  8. Terrible trade for Houston. Amazing haul for the Cards.
  9. Von already confirmed the interest. The Bills are definitely in on it. How serious, we don't know, but the Bills are there for sure.
  10. The more reports about Hopkins that come out, the more I am convinced this is all coming from Arizona. I truly believe they are just spewing everything they can to every outlet that will listen to try and drive up the price. A couple weeks ago it was pretty much just the Bills and the Chiefs weren't even involved. Then it comes out that they are involved and it was between the Bills and Chiefs (how convenient that it is 2 of the teams that are in direct competition with each other for the AFC). Now it's the Bills, Chiefs, and Ravens. Then, all of a sudden he is going to be included in a package to the Titans. To me, and of course I could be wrong, but this screams Arizona leaking anything and everything they can to try and get more than what is on the table. Whether it's the Bills or some other team, I'd be shocked if they get an inflated price. But, good on them for trying. Of course they should.
  11. Dude has 65 followers....... Ignore this.
  12. Seems like it's about a Jackson extension based on things out there. The question will become whether a Hopkins trade might be in addition to it.
  13. Jamison Hensley @jamisonhensley Just got a text: "Good news on the way for the Ravens." Jackson extension? Hopkins trade? Both? The pizza has been ordered for the war room? Could mean anything, but everyone wants scoops and wants them now.
  14. I won't be mad if he ends up with the Ravens because I don't see him putting that team over the top or anything like that. If he ends up going to the Chiefs......that's a different story.
  15. A Draft night eve tradition. Watching it now. It's not the best or most realistic movie, but being a Draft junkie, it's always a little tougher to rest the night before the Draft. So, this is the movie that goes on every Wednesday night before the Draft to set the mood. I enjoy it.
  16. I know it works out pretty well value wise for the Cards (3rd round) for us to drop from 27 to 34 for Nuk, but man......that seems like too much of a dream scenario for us. To get a top 10 WR without giving up an early round pick would be amazing. Even if it costs us an additional late rounder this year or next, who cares. To think you could come out of this draft with Hopkins and still be able to draft Campbell (or whoever your choice is at LB) at a better value in the 2nd round and still have another 2nd round pick for a OL or DT seems insane. But if it's on the table, I just don't see why we wouldn't do something like that. The money can be figured out even if they don't help with the contract. With all the smoke around this it's going to be pretty disappointing when it doesn't happen! HA!
  17. With the lack of draft capital, moving up more than a couple of spots is going to be tough. I suppose you could use a player like Oliver to sweeten the pot a bit if you don't have plans to re-sign him, but trying to move up 10+ spots with the lack of draft picks we have this year is unlikely.
  18. Terrible draft. I mean, just to tie this in with the Hopkins threads, this is another reason if I'm Beane, I am doing everything I can to pull off the trade for Hopkins. This WR class is well below average and there isn't a single guy that will come in this year and affect our offense the way he will if he stays healthy. Not only will this allow us to fix the WR position for the next couple years, but it kicks the can down the road until next year when we will need to restock the WR position. God willing, it will be a much better WR class. It should be. This also allows us to draft the best players available that potentially will have more of an impact on our team this season. (And for the record.....I like Saldiveri but I think he might be able to be had in the 4th)
  19. That may be what they want (if it is, the asking price has already dropped a bit from where it was several weeks ago if the reports are true), but that probably won't be the final price. I've thought all along a 3rd (and maybe a late rounder) gets the deal done as long as they eat some of the contract. If I'm Beane, I find a way to get this done. Yes, picks are important, but they are meant to find impact players for our team. No matter who we draft this year in rounds 3 or later, they won't have near the impact that Hopkins would for us over the next couple of seasons. Heck, depending on who we take in the 1st round, they may not have nearly the effect that Hopkins would on our team. He immediately takes our WR corps from slightly above average to one of the best in the league if everyone stays healthy. No WR in this draft will do that. No other player in the entire draft can make that happen, including the top WRs there. So yeah.....find a way to get this done for a 3rd or later, still be able to draft the best players available with your first 2 picks and this draft will be a success.
  20. If Jim wanted to be petty, all he would have to say is that the only titles Shady has are from games he was benched for and didn't even play a snap in. Regardless, this is all stupid. The argument has nothing to do with Super Bowls or whatever each guy has or doesn't have. This was about whether the Bills need a top flight RB or not. We don't. This is a passing league and pass catching weapons are where it's at. Now, does the prospect of having a star RB running against light boxes have intrigue? Of course it does, but I think the guys we have here can manage that just fine if we get better blocking up front. Better blocking up front opens everything up in both the pass and running games. That's why we all wish our front office took it more seriously than they have shown in the past. Improve the o-line and the backs we have on the roster will be more than good enough to get the job done for the amount of time I want to spend running the ball.
  21. God help us all if this drags out and becomes a draft week trade. I can definitely see that happening.
  22. The longer this has gone on, the less likely I feel this is to happen. Things were red hot a couple days ago and there really hasn't been much new since. Sure, a couple of reporters have picked up on the things that were happening and have made comments, but in terms of new information, there hasn't been anything in quite a while now. I'm not saying it's all a bunch of crap or that there isn't truth to the story, but I am thinking a few things happen, things got overblown, and it's just taken on a life of its own at this point. My guess....the Bills have made an offer. It's a decent one and the Cards haven't said no, but they haven't said yes either. I think they are looking for more, but do respect the offer on the table. From there, it's about making the money work. I am sure the Bills offer includes the Cards retaining some salary which, in a perfect world for them, they wouldn't have to do. So, while I think we're in on this whole thing, it might be a standing offer at this point and the Cards are going to want to drag it out as long as possible to see if they can get more. Nothing may change until the week of the draft. It's frustrating for us fans because we just don't know what's going on. We all know how big getting a player like this and slotting him in across from Diggs would be. Our offense would immediately become much more dangerous. It's an arms race in the AFC and we're not exactly winning it right now. But you get a guy like Hopkins and you immediately back among the elite in terms of weapons. I am actually encouraged that Beane and company seem to recognize this. But if Hopkins ends up getting traded to someone else for very moderate compensation, especially if it is a team we're going to have to go through, it's not going to be a good look for Beane. I get not wanting to mortgage the future. I really do. But this city just wants one. Take your swings while you can. You find a way to get that 1 Super Bowl, I promise you fans aren't going to rebel if we have to tear it down in a few years. And being competitive year after year is fine and all, but none of us want to be the team that is good enough to be around near the end but never take those big swings once in a while to really go for it. I guess we'll see what happens. I admit I was really excited.......more than I should have been over the last couple days. But with nothing new coming out recently, my expectations have settled a bit.
  23. From everything I have heard, it's been "Spring" all along. Haven't heard that change once yet.
  24. Decent back, but lacks that breakaway speed which will always keep him at slightly above average. As a rule, you shouldn't pay big money to backs to begin with no matter how good they are. While I like Motor just fine, the fact is he's replaceable just like most backs in this league.
  25. Most everyone on this board is going to say Fletcher for sure. The thing is, I don't think we have seen Edmunds in his prime yet. He had a good year last year, but it still seems like there is more there. Will he ever tap into that? I don't know. But I am not sure we can answer this question yet because I am not sure we have seen Edmunds' ceiling.
