I'm hoping someone falls in love with Peterson so we can drop down a few spots. As much as it pains me to say it Peterson or Green would not be bad picks at 3. I want to draft a d lineman or LB badly, but if Fairley and Bowers go first it may be better to get a top talent at another position.

I remember those days well. Seeing Kerry walking out of the jail with a cigar in his mouth after getting his DUI. My neighbor has first hand knowledge of what Collins was doing while playing here in Charlotte. To put it gently he was a mess.

Ron Rivera new HC of the Panthers
Drifter replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Panthers owner Jerry Richardson held a press conference last week stating that the NFL has turned into a offense first league. He stated that getting a top offensive coordinator and fixing the O is his top priority this off season. He said this before Luck decided to stay in school of course. Richardson prefers defense and running so we'll see if he really has changed his thoughts of building a team. -
I'm wondering where Marvin Austin will end up. He's a great prospect that could have come out last year. Some teams will pass because of not playing all year but, he could be a good pick up in the 2nd round.

I believe you can if the current team has a bye and gives permission. -
Luck will not declare for the draft. Breaking news...

Imagine how this board would have melted down if the Bills ended up with the #1 pick and Luck stayed in school. -

The fans down here in Charlotte are in shock. According to the calls they are jumping on the Vince Young bandwagon and drafting Fairley #1. -

This should make the Panthers pick a little more interesting. They could go for Bowers to replace what they lost with Peppers. Maybe the go Cam Newton now. -
I have never been impressed with Tony Sparano, but what the Dolphin organization is doing to him is low class. I liken it to some guy telling his girlfriend "I'm going to check out the blonde over there. If it doesn't work out I'll be back"

Bud Adams says Vince Young will not be on the team next year
Drifter replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fisher never wanted VY. How can a young QB develop when he is constantly being pulled after throwing a int? A different situation is just what he needs. I don't see a team handing him a starting job. He will have to put in the study time and earn it. I would take a chance on him. -
Having your safety and LB leading the team in tackles is not a good thing. It shows how poor our defensive line actually is.

Who would want to coach for the Raiders? I realize being an NFL head coach is a great opportunity, but Al Davis as your boss lessens the appeal. There is too much history of instability in that organization to get a top head coaching candidate. Honestly, I don't think they can hire a higher profile coach while Davis is running the team. While typing this, I realized the Bills can be grouped into this category as well. That would explain why every high profile head coach turned us down last year.

If Luck does not declare, Carolina will go defense. The organization is very conservative. Mr. Richardson likes his teams to have a tough defense and run the ball. Since I don't see another offensive player worth the #1 overall pick I say they try to replace what they lost when Peppers left.

Gailey stated yesterday that we are not going to be an exclusive 3-4 or 4-3 team. I'm not sure that's a good idea but that is the current plan. The Bills need talent up front period. I don't care what scheme it is. Take Fairley and build around him.
-
There is no doubt he was given an unenviable job in trying to run a 3-4 with 4-3 personnel. My main concern is can he design a defense to slow down divisional offenses when we finally do get the right players on the team. I do not know much about Edwards so if Chan thinks he can do it then I'll have to wait and see.

I am all for keeping Poz. He is a solid linebacker that will improve with additions to the D line and line backing corp. Donte on the other hand can go and get a wake up call on the open market. He wants to be paid like a top 5 safety. He is barely in the top 5 free agent safeties. I would put Dawan Landry, Quintin Mikell, Roman Harper and Bernard Pollard ahead of him on a wish list.

Wow, I guess stat really do lie. The pats defense is ranked 28th in the league but still get 4 guys voted to the pro bowl.

What if the Panthers DON'T draft Luck
Drifter replied to saundena's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Panthers offense is nonexistent right now. Yesterday at halftime the Falcons had 202 yards and the Panthers 33. Yes 33 whole yards. There is no way they pass on Luck if he declares. Clausen apologized linebacker Jon Beason for his poor play. I like Steve Smith's reaction. “I’m the last guy to tell anybody to be apologizing. But if you’re going to apologize, you should apologize to people that’s in the huddle with you. But he has a lot to learn. He ain’t at Notre Dame anymore, that’s for sure.” -
Say Something Positive about the 2010 Bills
Drifter replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sums it up nicely. I am ten times happier with this 3 win team than I ever was with Jauron's 7-9 versions. I believe there is an actual plan for rebuilding this time. The emergence of Kyle Williams, Fitzpatrick, and Stevie have been a welcome surprise. I'd include Gailey's willingness to cut loose Edwards and Lynch as an upgrade for the team. -
Giants/Vikings - Snowpocalypse 2010
Drifter replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know it doesn't happen often. I would think that since large snowfalls have occurred before, someone would plan for this contingency when designing a structure of that size. The Superdome was built to withstand hurricane force winds for a reason. -

Brilliant job by the architects and engineers. Lots of snow in Minnesota who would have thought it could happen? -
It seems other teams game plan to go right at Kelsay. It's brilliant because more often than not he'll be out of position or try that stupid spin move and get himself out of postion. He is a huge liability out there. I don't care about his locker room leadership. He sucks as a LB.
-
There is no denying their drafting has been bad. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut. That's why they need as many picks as possible.
-
I don't understand why everone is so upset by this trade. This team will undergo a huge turnover the next 2 years. Easily 75% of the players on this roster won't be here in 3 years.

It is a gamble for Seattle. Lynch is 1 strike away from a year suspension. 4th round picks are not lousy. Rounds 3-5 are where the heart of your team comes from. They may take some time to adjust to the league but account for quality starters and depth. Here are some 2006 4th and 5th rounders: Owen Daniels, Brando Marshall, Elvis Dumervil, Kyle Williams, Dawan Landry.
