  1. In 1994, the NFL's 75th year anniversary, the SF 49ers wore throwback uniforms which included their old white pants, instead of their normal burnished gold ones. They liked them so much, they got the NFL to ease the restriction on wearing them, and they then wore them for pretty much that entire season, as everyone liked them so much. They also wore them in their Super Bowl game against the Chargers ... Anyone have any recollection of that ??? Perhaps some of you might wanna visit the 49ers board and inquire about that ...
  2. Ermmm ... excuse me fella, but there is something out there known as 'adoption agencies'
  3. BUFFALO BILLS 30, LOS ANGELES RAIDERS 27 (OT) 8th December 1991 Trying to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs, the Bills traveled to Los Angeles and played another wild offensive game against the Raiders for the third time in 2 seasons. The Raiders jumped out to a 10-0 lead on a Tim Brown 78 yards bomb in the 1st quarter. Al Edwards returned the ensuing kickoff 95 yards to draw the Bills within 3. Former Buffalo Bill Greg Bell added a 12 yard run for a score in the 2nd quarter. Trailing 20-7 late in the half, Keith McKeller brought Buffalo to within 17-14, but the Raiders managed a FG as time expired. Bills Kicker Scott Norwood, who was struggling all season, suffered through his worst game of the year. Norwood missed 3 FG attempts in the second half as the Raiders moved ahead 27-14 entering the 4th quarter. Kelly led the Bills on a 67-yard drive capped off by Ken Davis's 1-yard TD run with 4:06 remaining. Norwood's missed extra point left the Bills trailing 27-20. The Bills defense held LA to a 3-and-out, and Kelly led Buffalo 64 yards in 1:36 to tie the score, converting on 4th down on the way. Norwood was able to pull it together and connect on the extra point to tie the score. Safety mark Kelso intercepted a Jay Schroeder pass on the second play of OT, setting up Norwood's redeeming game winning kick.
  4. I was at the game, and couldn't believe we came back to pull that game out .. Oh ... and the RAIDER fans were totally beside themselves with Jay Schroeder, who they all blamed for the loss, most of them were literally talkin' and moaning to themselves about him whilie exiting the Coliseum ... What a game !
  5. Aye, yer right ... and I must say that that has been a total pain in the ass ..
  6. Ermm ... there's actually ways to do many of these things yer mentioning, and still NOT be a friggin' heathen ... lol
  7. LoL .. 'Nick in England' who's a frequent poster here would use his teeth to knock down a tree if that was the only thing getting in his way of having DIRECTV so that he and all his mates could get all the BILLS games on TV over there in the UK .
  8. Superfan I'm ordering today or tomorrow ... I want it Also you forgot to mention how great it is around 1 pm and 4 pm Pacific time when some of the games are going down to the wire and possibly going into overtime. You never miss anything ... and you split the screen down the middle to get 2 games similtaneously ... I appreciate the NFL Ticket even more during those stages ...
  9. A jersey number is retired for a reason, and it's a very uncommon occurence for it to be retired. For him to even ask is nervy ... If you're Largent, Rice makes the request to you, and you really don't want him to have it, it can be very awkward for him to say no, he's being put on the spot ... Either way ... it was retired for a reason ... so that NO OTHER PLAYER can ever wear it ever again Sorry fella, I couldn't disagree with ya more ...
  10. Fella .... if $200+ for the NFL TICKET isn't worth it to you to get ALL 16 BILLS games every week each season, then you're not a true & dedicated BILLS fan IMHO When DIRECTV first came out in Nov '94 it was close to $1000 for the system. I live in So Calif since high school and I would've sold my car or anything else if it meant I'd have the money for the system so that I'd never ever have to miss another BILLS game ever again ... Now the system is dirt cheap compared to when it debuted ... Step to the plate FFS, yer just gonna end up spending that money on something else of less importance anyway.
  11. That's ironic that you say this, cuz I felt the same way when that happened. That was really nervy .. When Karl Malone joined the LAKERS, Magic Johnson offered to let him wear his retired # 32, but Malone politely declined w/ honor and said it just wouldn't be right Now that's class ...
  12. Where'd ya go ? Enquiring minds wanna know ...
  13. This one's a no-brainer J ... E .... T .... S .... JETS .... JETS ... JETS !
  14. The 5 Freeway is the absolute worst .. I never go that way when going to Chargers games down in San Diego. I like taking the 210 East to the 15 South ... Past Norco, Lake Elsinore, and Temecula A bit more mileage-wise, but alot less traffic ..
  15. stubhub.com has been doing alot of radio adverstising as of late I had never even heard of them 'til recently
  16. In England they really got the right idea for their football/soccer All stadiums have sections for away fans only If anyone roots for the away team or wears team apparel for the visiting team in any section other then the designated ones, they are thrown out ... This way it cuts down on violence among other things ... and you need a pass issued by the away team to cross the turnstiles ...
  17. The answer to that is 'no' ... When Seattle changed their uniforms and logo a few seasons ago, they wanted to use their current helmet for away games, and a silver one for their home games. The NFL said 'no', pick one ... so they had a sweepstakes vote and their current blue version won out ... BTW ... I love the throwbacks, especially those socks and black shoe ... I'd love to go back to them, and wear the blue pants for away games like the ones introduced in 1973
  18. It shouldn't matter what game your local affiliates select ... Any BILLS fan should have DIRECTV and NFL Sunday Ticket ... Watching the BILLS is a necessity, not a luxury. It's like having food on the table, a roof over your head, etc etc I live in Southern California, and if I had to depend on the local Los Angeles affiliates to show the BILLS on TV, I'd rarely ever see them play ...
  19. Well that makes a whole lotta of sense ! It's after 1 game, and they played an AFC team ..
  20. I saw that too, when it originally happened. A few minutes later ABC showed a replay of it .. Don't know if it was necessarily smelling salt in there, but definitely a substance of the most stanky type ...
  21. ROFL ... You're must be havin' a laff Not any different than our fellow Leeds United fans 'eh Dave ... Shall we start another thousand threads to discuss the pin stripes on the white home shirt ? Or another 500 threads to talk about the shít fabric Admiral is using ? Or another 300 to demand the return of the all-yellow kit ? Or perhaps another 100 to discuss the dark tangerine colored GK's shirt or ... or .. or ...
