  1. EJ has shown the ability to protect the ball. mayube he needs to learn to force it a little more. Please don't bring up the Watt interception.....S#!) happens. We need a QB who cvan run a ball control offense and hit some play action when it is there. EJ is better than Cassel hands down. My guess is Cassel is here AS a back up. I really wish we had brought in Matt Moore but C'est la vie.

  2. While I still would like to see a formidable run game with EJ handing off, I would take Foles, Then Moore, then Mallett. Bradford is soft. Sanchez is an Older EJ. Cleveland(!?) cut Hoyer and the little I watched of him was enough. It is pointless to draft anyone, they aren't worth the pick we would use.

I think we need to own up to the fact that a stud running back and O-linemen would be our best acquisitions this year. And ground and pound is going to be our best chance unless EJ/Free agent pick up turns a corner.

    I

  3. E.J. .....Behind a rebuilt and properly coached O-line, in a scheme not run by a preschooler at OC. Give him a good running game and let him grow. If Rex could get the NYETs to the AFC championship with Sanchise/ Roman get the 49ers to the playoffs with Kaepernick they can get us to the playoffs with this defense and the skill position players on both sides that we have. I think we all agree the talent is there.

  4. When he put Woods in his doghouse this last season. IMO, Woods is the best receiver on this team. maybe sammy toughens up but until then Woods has a burning desire to be good. I don't attribute it to Dougy and whatever mindgames he was trying to play this last training camp. I kinda think Woods spoke his mind to Doug and Mr. Control freak didn't like it. A guess but I bet I'm on to something.

  5. Because Pegula is the President and owner, those statements come from him, not the person in Russ' role. Can't understand why people can't understand the structure and hierarchy of this team. Pegula is the de facto football czar as President. Brandon runs the business side, Whaley the football side. So when a coach leaves, it's the president in this case who makes the statement. And if they get a pres of football ops, maybe it changes. But trying to say Brandon is out of the loop because you don't like the guy doesn't make it reality. I've said it before in other posts, this guy has polish the worst turd in the NFL for 15 years and kept the stadium full with garbage after garbage on the field while being micromanaged by the former owner.

Got a point there. Don't hate Marrone. Think he made a good business decision. Think he was a typical ego maniacal/ chip on his shoulder type. Everything seemed to be a personal slight towards him: Media, GM, Owner, Players(Woods, Urbik, Williams) Always an undertone of me against the world. If he does end up in NY, that should be fun to watch. Especially if he had some short term success followed by a rough patch:) Don't want Reich. Don't want Ryan. Don't know who's out there that I do want. If Polian is coming, I hope he already has his hands in the mix and is helping with the choice. The point about those Levy/Polian era teams is they(FO) worked together as a team with the coaches to create a true TEAM.
  6. Serious question...why all the Reich desire? Is it just because he was a former Bill?

1 He has virtually no relevant experience to be a HC...

2 He was an OC one year and his offense wasn't very good

3 This team needs a proven leader, something Reich has yet to do

Nothing against him, but I don't get it. He could be great, but he's proven nothing...I don't want to hire a coach on a "hunch" he might be good at it because people like him. I want to hire a coach who has proven he can lead a team, make a significant impact, and command respect. Maybe as an OC, but please no as HC. Like I said, doesn't mean he will be a bad HC, but I don't want to roll the dice with a team that is this close to being playoff relevant again.

I love Frank as a person. If I had a daughter, I would want him as my son in law. He isn't a HC IMO. Can't quantify it. Just don't feel he has the leadership skills. Wouldn't loose it if they got him but would quickly be on him when questionable stuff started to occur.
  7. I wouldn't use that video to showcase him. So many wide open receivers and so much time to throw.

Kinda like Brady, for a decade. Put him against the Giants pass rush and suddenly Tom Terrific maybe doesn't look quite so good.

Unlike Orton , he didn't chuck a bunch of indiscriminate passes to the other team. Again, Watt made the whole O team look like a bunch of fools. Doug"I'm an offensive lineman/Offensive guru" couldn't figure how to protect the poor bastard from that pass rush and blame the rookie QB?

EJ's gonna suck next year too... Especially if hackett is still in as OC... We are 100% BONED as long as Nate hackett has anything to do with our offense.

    Testify, my brother.

    I tend to agree.

I don't know where this "ALL rookie QBs are capable of being starters day 1 in the NFL, despite 30 years of history to the contrary...because...that's the way the game is now" came from. This is crap.

For literally years we've known that a rookie QBs place is on the bench, precisely so he can learn/develop. We also know that it takes ~3 years for most WRs to truly learn their craft.

Now, suddenly all that wisdom, based on real world outcomes for decades, goes out the window?

Worse, ALL of the players that have been citied to support this nonsense? Their play has refuted the entire notion. Even Andrew Luck has been struggling, and if Indy was in our division, and we in theirs? We would own that division.

Awesome points!!! How are RG3, Kapernick, Bortles, Newton etc doing? Here in Charlotte they have repeatedly called for Cams head?! This country(And all fan bases) lack patience and foresight.

Be ready to suck then, regardless... if EJ is the starting QB in 2015, we are screwed. He doesn't have the propensity to learn from his mistakes or to correct his inaccurate throws. That's why Marrone gave up on him and didn't start him in New England... HE KNOWS EJ will not get much better... and that kind of honesty is what we need, not false hope in a bum.

Just like he knows how to coach up an offense....?

Remember Drew Brees in San Diego. He started in his first couple years, on and off, and was TERRIBLY inconsistent. They got River's and traded Brees away. Anyone could have had him, including the Bills and Sean Payton is heralded as brilliant for taking him.....because the 1st and 2nd year QB was an inconsistent suck fest. I'm not calling EJ Brees, just making the point that all of you who are SO positive that EJ can't play need to chill. Especially those of you who thought Orton was a legitimate starter and of any obvious value= Delusional.

  8. I dare you to mention one descent QB who is currently a UFA. I know someone mentioned Sanchez in another post. We have him, younger and cheaper = EJ.

The fact is, there are no QBs available, coming available or draft able that are worth giving up picks for. Again, I say ; "This season was a complete waste in terms of playing Orton, missing the playoffs and not getting EJ experience."

The only two QBs I would like to see them bring in, CHEAP, are Mallett or Matt Moore. I'm not singing their praises but they are the best/most intriguing of a piss poor lot.

I see training camp opening next year with a new OC and Ej in a battle with someone. Who that someone is remains to be seen. If Hackett remains, it won't matter who is under center.

  9. If they enter next season with Hackett and Orton, I will not order the Sunday ticket. I live in Charlotte and did this twice before, Dick Jerkrons first season and his last season. This offense feels worse than those. That is pretty hard to do when you have a defense like this. I don't care if they squeak a bunch of close games out. I don't want to watch an O barf all over the field week after week and that is all those two are capable of doing:(

  10. I am usually ready for a game by Thurs night do I don't mind the concept but for the love of all things holy NFL - please make it an AFC-NFC game! 4 days to prep is not enough for the type of performance needed for a conference or - brilliant - division game!

that call may very well have flipped our whole season. If the give woods the dpi and we go on to score a TD, I doubt EJ is benched after a win, and we would have a meaningful AFC win over a WC contender. I didn't think EJ played well vs SD or Houston but he may have made it at least another week or more.

My point exactly. Watching Orton against the Raiders/Mack was like Ej against Houston/Watt. EJ gets that win we might not be having this discussion. Lord knows Orton has thrown some BRUTAL picks to guys not half as gifted as Watt but he gets to start?! DM reminds me of John Fox and "Jake Delhome gives us the best chance to win" after the 5 pick performance against the Bills....DM had Woods in his dog house, he seems to like who he likes regardless of the facts. Heck, Williams may have gotten the shaft for said reason. Marrone needs to go and EJ needs to start!!!
  11. I've been watching this team since '78. I've seen my share of the good and , lately, the bad. Listening to all these coach/QB apologists causes me to harken back to Mr. Larry Felser.

After Chuck Knox left, I used to hate Felser!!! Why couldn't he see that Dufek or Mathison or Feragamo weren't the problem. Why must he always take shots at Mr. Wilson, or coach Stephenson or Bullough. Larry just wasn't a Bill-iever and I hated him for it. Then I got a little older and I started to see the light.

It wasn't what I wanted, it was what I saw. That was the reality of the situation.

Larry would be pointing out this same idea today. Same old Bills!!! Give us false hope by winning a game they weren't supposed to(GB) while losing multiple games they shouldn't have. The one game then becoming lipstick on a pig. He would say something about it not mattering which QB was in: Orton running from Mack or EJ from Watt. Same offense, same team, same culture of losing, same coaching/different names.

As a middle aged man, today, if I had the pleasure of reading a fresh Felser column, I'd be nodding my head with a knowing smile and saying to myself; "Larry, you were right all along."

  12. Im not really talking about the OP he always puts in his disclaimer Im talking about everyone who uses this video to jump head first into the blame game depending on which side of the coin they favor .

Now watching the all 22 after watching the game doesn't tell you that the packers were going into the wind in the 1st quarter and Rodgers passes were all over the place so they went run heavy and ran the ball on there last possession not throwing until they got into the redzone and then we gave them a penalty heading into the 2nd quarter and as soon as we switched directions they we went pass heavy again .

On the high throw to Woods and the pick we were throwing into the same wind that had Rodgers missing receivers by 5 yards in the 1st quarter .

im not saying Orton didnt make any bad throws in the game but some of this simply overanalyzed BS

How can you see WTF his eyes are looking at from your couch ? Every QB misses passes how about putting some context behind some of these claims instead of trying to blame one guy for everything .

I tend to side with the coach in that the offensive woes comes from a bit of everything Orton included I'm not stupid enough to think I can tell him what he should be seeing without even knowing what the damn play call is .

When Orton overthrow a sideline pass to a receiver in single coverage, running a fly patter....It's Orton's fault. I'm confident the coaches would agree. When Orton chucks it into the turf in front of Sammy, when Sammy has run a dig route....Orton's fault. ICTCWA. When Orton turns his back to the line of scrimmage, and starts to go fetal, and there is still a good pocket around him, Orton's fault,ICTCWA. Get the gist of my/our point?
  13. LOL again the fact that you dont know what was called and what was everyones job on each play its hard to say what should have happened . You can always way what YOU WANT to happen but that doesn't mean that's what was actually called .

All 22 is nice but you don't even know if player is supposed to be in that spot but he looks open in hindsight from the birdseye view so obviously he should've been thrown the ball regardless of the play call or actual view from the field

Wow, I guess that thing Orton does where he stares down his receiver and still misses the pass, we can't possibly attribute that to him. How about the slant passes where he hits the receiver on his back shoulder or worse( and these guys still catch it). I guess we can't blame Orton. How about wide open receivers that he doesn't see (When he does try to go through reads) and he checks down. maybe they weren't suppose to be that wide open so he did the right thing by checking down because maybe it was a trick?! Dude....Really?!!!
  14. To the contrary, Cousins has regressed significantly. He often locks onto receivers and makes very poor decisions that both lead to interceptions. He played so poorly as Washington's starter this year after RG3 was injured that he was benched in favor of Colt McCoy. This fascination for Cousins must be based on what he showed 2012 because he has really struggled in the last two seasons when he's been afforded opportunities to play extensively.

Fair point, but, Washington is a bit of a dumpster fire itself and I wonder what the locker room chemistry(or lack thereof) is. Cliche alert!!! Sometimes you just need a change of scenery. Cousins has the potential to be a win or two better than Orton. How the heck did we lose to KC? UGG
