  1. I don't think Schwartz get offers next year unless it's from the Bills who I am starting to think may not want to risk losing him and bump him up to head coach like Rams did with Martz. My initial thought was Marrone would absolutely get another year simply bc the team has improved but what has Marrone added to this team except hire two good defensive coordinators? This team is obviously being carried by its defense while the offense continues to regress.

Agree. I don't hate Marrone but neither am I impressed. Hated the re punt after the repunt when we had the ball on the 45 and lost 9 yards. BAD:( It took the back end of the defense a while to get it together this season but they all trust each other now. They don't get flustered by bad plays. The pre snap communication is obvious and they are all very relaxed. This actually reminds me of Ted Cottrell's defense, not the scheme as much as the demeanor. They don't get punked, they do the punking.
  2. Doesn't New England and Miami pretty much play the same teams? Where do they rank?

The reason for the rough offensive production is mostly because we don't have a QB.

Not really sure where your going with this OP.

Spot on. Crappy offensive coordination, bad o-line play and poor QB play are why we lost those games(with some bad calls added in for good measure)

looks like an easy win this week B-)

Orton hasn't looked the greatest and his dive slide was appalling, however how much better will the offense be if Orton has another year to get his timing down with the recievers. He had a lot passes last week that just missed with the WRs that if were on target would have been big gains.

To quote the inimitable Nigel Tufnel..." None more!!!" None more better. ORTON SUCKS!!!!!!! STOP!!!!!!! NO Orton in 2015!!!!!!!
  3. It will be Marrone,Hackett and Orton/Manuel.

No! I don't hear you! (Fingers in ears) La La La La

In all seriousness, this is the answer. We just need a guy with more experience. Hackett may end up being good, but he is in way over his head at this point in his career.

    Amen

    Rob Chudzinski.

Here in Charlotte we watched him Cam's first year was good. He definitely isn't afraid to push the ball down field. Cam's second year he was heavy option and the offense looked like crap till they got away from it. Also, apparently he is a SUPER Weeny which is the main reason he got canned after one season in Cleveland. Not sure if that matters as OC when you only crap on players but as a HC he ticked everyone off. GOTTA be better than Hackett
  4. the "facts" are that orton has a higher passer rating and total QBR rating than EJ.

EJ does need more time to develop and I support that.

I also believe that if the coaches, who see him everyday, felt EJ was better, he'd be starting.

Like they had Woods and Urbik and Williams in the dog house. Like they kept putting Spiller in game after game because of his nifty North South skills. Yeah, they have a keen eye for Offensive talent. Pun intended:)
  5. Has EJ learned decision making and accuracy since he was benched? Because while I hope he has been progressing, unless both of those things are different then they were in week 4, Orton gives us the best chance to beat the Packers, and that should be our only goal. If EJ can play better, I'm fine with a move at any point, but we have no reason to think he has made enough adjustments for that to be true, and week 15 isn't a time to be messing around.

By the way, Luck lost by 7 in Denver, the Chiefs lost by 7 in Denver, the 10 win Cardinals lost by 21, San Fran by 25, the Chargers by 14, and the Fish by 3. Some pretty good teams have fallen along the way to the Bronco's 7-0 record at home.

Orton isn't the answer, and the defense did most of the work, but right now I don't think EJ is a better chance to beat the Packers, and we aren't playing for 2015 quite yet.

We are NOT going to beat the Packers. We don't have a "Best chance" we have NO chance. Putting Orton in there won't make any difference. Good God, are you guys auditioning for the next HC job by demonstrating your mindless BS in front of the press skills?
  6. I fully expect Orton to keep starting as long as the Bills are still alive. After that who knows but I wouldn't hv a problem with EJ getting another start or two if and when Bills are eliminated

I fully expect them to add another QB like RG3 or Cutler, someone like that

Uhh,The Bills are eliminated.....Have been for a while......like a chicken with its head cut off they keep moving but their fate is sealed. Put EJ in and start planning for next season. This one is over, in terms of playoffs. We just lost in the pre first round yesterday to a good team playing bad football and still having their way with us.

    I beg to differ.

If, the Bills want to continue to at least try to win their last three games, start Orton.

If, they are looking to develop the likely starter for next season, that would likely be Orton.

If, they still have some hope that EJ will develop into something, setting him up for failure in at least two out of the three last games isn't going to do much for him.

Start EJ, why? I need some explanation. It's a very real possibility. But, if I had to bet on who will be gone next season, I would bet they will cut EJ. They went "all in" (remember that phrase?) on EJ, and lost. But, then what happens? Who do we get in the draft? Who do we get in FA?

Define failure. Lose games while looking like crap? Then they are setting up Orton also. It's called getting him real reps. It's called planning for the future. It's a chance to see who else on the team keeps playing for pride(keepers) and who packs it up early (Trade bait ).
  7. No. The difference is I know football. Especially today's football. You are talking about screen plays as if they all sucked....when the reality is we exploited the screen over and over against them. What the F game were you watching? We chucked in to Fred on screen/chip and go for 2 3rd downs in a row!

We did find the weaknesses with our game plan: how many misdirection runs/pass plays did we have? How many times did we set up for a pass and run a counter? Better: how the F did Kyle Orton throw for 355 F'ing yards, if we didn't find any weaknesses in their D?:lol:

Given this post and my last one, I've now made your entire argument empircally obtuse.

    Try again.

How many pics did he throw? How many more were dropped? Not flukey, tipped ball pics but looking(Staring) right at your guy and chucking it to the other guy. How much of his yardage was YAC? And how about a little, maybe just a smidgeon of hustle when you are down by 14. Fatboy can't move that fast apparently. Remember all the talk about the fastest offense and most plays per game. How about just doing it in your two minute drill and not throwing check down after check down. PA- FING-THETIC . Keep crowing about your moral victories. Did it occur to you that they knew we couldn't win and they just rode it out with their run game because they felt no threat? I'm sure Manning is feeling pretty bad about having to take such a bad win into next week.
  8. I get your point, but Orton's accuracy is pretty much just as bad if not worse. Orton couldn't hit plenty of open receivers today.

It pains me to no end to read Orton backers on this page. He is brutal. He missed so many wide open receivers today, most on over throws. And the fetal thing he does where he turns his back and hunches over preparing to be hit....FREAKING PANZY. A complete wasted season with him behind center. We don't have a thing to show for it....NOTHING. UGGG I honestly believe Tuel could have had a comparable season with this defense. I won't bring up the other guy because apparently he is inaccurate?!
  9. Bears were 11-5 and went to the playoffs during Orton's rookie season.

Overall, the Bears had a record of 10-5 in games that Orton started, including an eight-game winning streak after a 1-3 start. Despite the team's success, Orton finished with the lowest quarterback rating in the NFL (59.7) among all "qualified" quarterbacks (those with 224+ pass attempts).[

Bears were 11-5 and went to the playoffs during Orton's rookie season.

EJ Manuel has a quarterback rating of 80.3 through four games.

Maybe, just maybe, it was the team in Chicago and not Orton. We aren't making the playoffs with Orton. We will NEVER make the playoffs with Orton. EJ needs the reps and experience.

  10. Even still, if you were to compare them Orton is way better. EJ mind doesn't process and you can see it...then he throws bad balls constantly. Orton's mind processes it a good deal of the time (although he has killed us on a some plays) and he is capable of placing a catchable ball.

Orton not being the best is no defense of EJ.

What did Orton look like when he had 14 games under his belt?
  11. EJ's problem is not pocket presence, it's accurately getting balls to receivers and having a feel for what the game is about.

Maybe you aren't comparing them but have you watched the suckathon that is Orton's ball placement. He makes two or three well placed passes a game, PERIOD,Exclamation point. There are sub genres to his passing: The back shoulder slant, The Feragamo-esque into the dirt in front of the open receiver(usually reserved for Sammy in the red zone) The jump ball dump pass(stops the outlet backs momentum when they actually can catch it, The Delhome chuck anywhere near Woods and gets his ass saved by Woods on the pass, and finally, The feet of stone third down blitz coming wounded duck, especially good when done out of the end zone for a safety:(
  12. http://www.washingto...bff8_story.html

One of the more important parts...

"Gruden has seen enough to realize that Griffin is at best a long-term project as a pocket passer. Griffin was too deliberate reading defenses, displayed poor footwork and an alarming lack of pocket presence for a signal-caller in his third NFL season"

EJ wasn't and isn't 1/10 th the Talent RGIII is and EJ has clearly shown he has the same issues AND more. EJ's biggest knocks were he can't read defenses, slow with his eyes, WR's must be wide open for him to make the throw. Nothing has changed since College with EJ.

If Washinton can cut bait with a guy they paid 3 first rounders for, we can cut bait now and not waste 2-3 more years on a guy who clearly doesn't have it.

And before the whining starts, Teams are realizing these spread, running QB's overall arent cutting it in the NFL. It is a very rare exception that they succeed at all (Russell Wilson).

Brees sucked, Kelly sucked, Aikmen sucked, Rapelisburger was brutal in his first superbowl which they won in spite of him, Sanchise couldn't play himseldf outta a wet paper bag......and EJ is a bust because this worthless excuse of an offensive staff didn't make him an all pro in less than one season? You sir are a Twit:)
  13. 8-8 with EJ, I'd be slightly disappointed but can see progression. 8-8 with Orton should get people fired. It's a bad joke. He was supposed to be an upgrade. Getting to .500 with a 10th year .500 qb when we had a 2nd year one who was .500 is pathetic.

And we'll trick ourselves into settling for a below average qb next year. 8-8 is not good enough, especially when it's your defense that is winning every game for you.

I want to be happy but we are spinning out wheels and wasting a SB caliber defense.

Testify Brother Biscuit. Orton looked like crap AGAIN. The run game looked like it always does....BAD. It kills me with how good this D could be with a top 15 offense. TOP EFFING 15!!!! 8-8 is a JOKE. And going into next year with Orton as the starter would be the cruelest joke of all!!!! UGG!!! Have some damned self respect Buffalo.
  14. I think Bills fans have severely overrated our offensive talent.

I agree the Offense is our Achilles Heel, but not because of playcalling. If anything they have over achieved.

The play calling, O-line and QB are the reason we have sucked on Offense. We have numerous run formations and then.....we run the ball right up the gut. Run out of a spread formation and let them pick a hole. Could you imagine what we could gain with a competent coordinator.
  15. This KO hate you have is very tiresome. I know you worship EJ but the Bills won. Can't you take a day off from the hate and just enjoy a win?

KO threw a bunch of crappy passes today that Woods caught. The TD was a bad pass, the out route to Watkins into double coverage was a bad pass, the blocked pass to Woods,CB knocked it away= bad, that wounded duck he chucked for an incompletion=bad. If Woods wasn't on a mission, last night, KO's qb rating isn't nearly as good. I will grant you that he is pulling the trigger faster than EJ but his accuracy isn't that much better. Furthermore, Watkins had a couple bad drops when KO delivered it nicely? Same crap he did to EJ earlier. He's got to make those easy catches. Don't know that he is always dialed in the way he needs to be. He needs some veteran getting on his butt about focus on EVERY play.
  16. The Bills pummeled a 2-8 really bad team that doesn't have one decent player at QB.

Exactly!!! The Jets are a dumpster fire and we didn't accomplish anything against them AGAIN!!!! Beat a respectable team and then talk. God almighty, the crowing that went on after the last Jets game. This defense is for real and is completely wasted when matched up with Orton and that o line:(
