  1. Oh, you freaking know Robin Masters was Higgins' nome de plume. Had to be.
  2. Not a bad trade from either side. Curious why NE decided to move Mankins though. I can't believe it was strictly salary.
  3. Billy sure does like his TEs. I suspect a mid-round pick at most, probably a late one.
  4. Personally I thought they should have drafted a developmental QB in the middle rounds. I mentioned Logan Thomas as a possibility pre-draft. He could have been had in the 4th I believe. There were obviously others to consider. While I don't know that he could help much this season I take the long term view here. Keep addressing QB until you're sure you're set.
  5. OMG. Wait until you see what that man does with non-alcoholic drinks. He's amazing.
  6. I have heard rumors that he's had issues with substance abuse - alcohol and drugs (not pot). He'd certainly be worth looking at if his life is in order and it was expected to stay that way.
  7. It has to start at the top........but a bona fide franchise QB wouldn't hurt much either.
  8. I think you did. In these posts, for two examples:
  9. Here is my issue with that - specifically with the Rams' actions. The Rams could have gotten out of that deal before last season due to its structure as the guaranteed money finished in 2013. He could have been traded (not released) before that season and while the dead money would have been substantial, the cap hit from a trade would have been positive overall. Before this season he'd have been much easier to trade or release and I could see them wanting to wait for that. The numbers would have been much better. His contract runs out in 2015 and trading him after this season would pose no issue on their end. Except that they don't have anyone to take his place. And that's my big issue with the Rams. Flush with so many additional high picks (thanks Washington!) they failed address the QB position. They did not draft or otherwise acquire a QB to mitigate the risk of sticking solely with the oft-injured Bradford. Now here they are again. Bradford is injured (again) and Shaun Hill is their best option. They made their bed. Bradford current contract info: http://overthecap.com/player/sam-bradford/1349
  10. Just because the jury is still out on both doesn't mean they are in the same situation. They aren't.
  11. Why is that? I'm not saying I'm arguing for either, but EJ is in his second season and JFF is just starting his first. I think it's a lot different. And don't play the injury excuse card. I argued the same thing. Now way would I have put all of my eggs into the EJ basket for this season - and I sure as hell wouldn't have added next season's first round eggs to it. That's negligent.
  12. I wonder how much is Hackett and how much is him being handcuffed by Manuel.
  13. WTF? Seriously, WTF? His intentions were pretty clear. In fact, they were uncovered by Bills fans when his partner was found to be researching moving the team to Toronto. F Bon Jovi. His music sucks and his lies suck.
  14. There are good things happening in Jax and that's due to coaching and the GM both. That team should be on the rise. I am not a Phish believer. That team is a train wreck. I just can't put them second. Pats 1st for sure and then it's a crapshoot from there.
  15. Bronc is right. BB has always been the same way, after he won championships, before he won championships, when he was in Cleveland, always.
  16. I've read a few rumors about Freeman. The troubling ones are regarding some significant substance abuse issues. Not talking pot. Again, they are rumors but things line up pretty well if true. If a team could trust him to stay clean he'd be worth a look. I'm. to sure that teams do, however.
  17. ALL of the pieces necessary? I think a franchise QB still has to emerge. EJ may be that guy, but until he proves he is I'm not checking that box. I have hope for the receiving corps, but Watkins has yet to play a real NFL game and he's the only one teams are going to have to game plan for. Again, I'm hopeful that we have others developing, but there is much left to prove. I like our RBs, but our starter is on the last year of his deal and our backup is 33 and on the last year of his deal. The defense has some real talent, but was very susceptible to the run last season. Even if Spikes fixes that he's on a one year deal, too. I'm of the mind that I want to see what the Bills have before making such grandiose statements.
  18. Lots of distraction for a guy who can't throw NFL passes. Desperation is ugly.
  19. You joke around about that (and the pics are nice) but I hit the size select tab and the only size available is XL. That's just effed up.
  20. Man I always hated Primanti Bros sandwiches. I think it was the bread because I have no issue with fries on my sandwich. I love me some Fatheads though. Go there for food and beer - both are great. The Church Brewery is cool and the food was good, but the beer was not. Great set up though.
  21. I would chose either "the ability to anticipate receivers who are about to come open" or "better accuracy". Seriously, who gives a rat's ass if he wears a visor or wants a jacket on the sidelines? Do you think anyone cares about this crap if the QB in question has proven himself to be a quality NFL QB? If Manuel improves I hope we can put all this stuff behind us.
  22. That's probably why I used the words "public" and "perception" in my post.
  23. I'd leave FJ exactly where he is until I see him start to lose it, then I wouldn't hesitate to drop him down the depth chart. This will almost certainly be his last season on the Bills - and possibly in the NFL. I'd milk the last bit of football out of him whilst the youts learn.
