  1. The salary cap is real, it’s the contracts that aren’t. The Bills had room for one big addition this off season. Kudos to Beane & Co for getting it done.
  2. Ah. Misread Taylor’s deal as per season.
  3. How TF is Tyrod making twice what Trubisky is?
  4. My concern is that three Bills players were in the top 50 players in PRWR in 2021 - and two of them were Hughes and Addison. The third was Oliver, who had the 5th highest double team rate of those top 50 players. PRWR is a good metric to look at. It’s more stable than sacks overall. But I worry that outside of Oliver we don’t have the players to pressure QBs. He’s going to need more help. That could be a draft pick, a free agent or development of players already on the roster.
  5. A Yeah. I was fully prepared for Wallace to go elsewhere - but not for $4M/season.
  6. Your point is the important one moving forward after this season. If the Watson deal doesn’t come through (likely) and Mayfield plays well enough to warrant an extension (possible), then the road ahead could be very rocky.
  7. Meh. Baker never let anything like that affect him. He got jerked around in college. He walked on at Texas Tech where there was an entrenched starter and wound up starting that season for them as a true freshman. Then after getting jerked out of a scholarship there he left and walked onto Oklahoma’s team where he had to sit out a year. Then he beat out the entrenched starter the following season. All he did was start there for 3 seasons and became the only walk on player ever to win the Heisman trophy. The Browns FO talking with Watson might not do anything more than piss him off Aaron Rodgers style.
  8. Browns meeting with Desean Watson today. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/sources-deshaun-watson-set-to-meet-with-cleveland-browns-brass-on-tuesday/
  9. Yup. I’m happy for him and I’m glad we didn’t give him that contract.
  10. The big question is: Do they bother to put an OL in front of them this year?
  11. Why is Miami is collecting fragile QBs? I guess if that’s you’re thing, then it’s better to have multiple ones.
  12. The Packers are stealing here. That’s a bargain for Campbell. But I would not want the Bills to give Edmunds that deal.
  13. Yeah. Saffold seems an odd choice. We dump Williams because he’s making too much and he’s not a good fit for the zone scheme we’re moving to, but sign an OG that, if I’m not mistaken, fits gap/power and is a good run blocker, but not very good in pass pro. I haven’t seen the contract details yet, but an early signing usually doesn’t equate to “on the cheap”. Gonna wait for that though. Edited to add: I see that he was on McVay’s LA Rams team for two seasons. He was already on the roster when McVay got the job, but he would’ve played in a zone scheme under him so there is some film of it.
  14. I’m most interested in seeing what the first year cash payout and additional guarantees are
  15. 2 year deal being reported
  16. Looking at the details, Morse got more guaranteed money in exchange for lowering his AAV. That was fair to both sides.
  17. Okay, this seems much more reasonable. And that’s why people need to chill out until the details come out on any deal.
  18. Changes needed to be made with the IOL and the Bills did that. The OGs are both gone. Our vet OC is staying and will be here to provide stability. Swapping out all three IOL starters would’ve been very risky and I’m glad that was avoided. My main concern with Morse is his concussion history. He was good in that regard the last season though and here’s hoping (for him particularly) that it stays that way. This just feels like the moves they had to make if they were comfortable with Morse’s health.
  19. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/jake-kumerow-17201/ Kumerow’s contract is indeed for the vet minimum of $1.035M. Notably he is eligible for a discounted cap hit so his hit is only on the books for $895k.
  20. He is probably seeing if he can make more on the open market than the Bills offered with the pay cut. It’s a sound strategy for a guy who could sign as a starting RT or even a swing tackle somewhere. This is the thing about asking a player to take a pay cut. You have to be willing to cut them if they say no, or can’t agree on a new figure. This tells me that Morse is almost certainly staying this season. I can’t see the Bills intentionally going with three new starters on the inside.
  21. Than you for your comments
  22. We have not seen the details yet. I have to think that potential performance bonuses are included in that number. Also there was no mention of what his signing bonus was.
