I am picking just this part because it came up this week with my 13 year old daughter. She was reading some crap comparing the Israeli military to the US military in Vietnam in a negative light. The vast majority of American soldiers, and Israeli soldiers now, did their jobs and served with honor, a few did terrible things but because politicians thought it was easier to simply paint them all poorly. In any large group you will find scum and and pretending that those few are the rule is what evil people do. I know you did not go to Vietnam but it does not surprise me that the people you surround yourself with believe our soldiers were the problem, maybe go meet some Vietnamese people who might have a greatly different perspective.

This is my last weekend watching NFL football till at least the playoffs. The officiating is dominating games, and definitely not just us, and I watch to see players make plays not to watch officials call ticky tack stuff while missing obvious things that have to be called.

In high school, at least in FL, once down the play is done, no contact needed. If it was a catch he is down.

Agreed but that is what you were arguing at the time, so how is it strategic? To believe that Putin will attack a NATO country at this point is crazy since his military is decimated in both personnel and materials. Since May of 2022 at the latest it has been apparent this was gonna be a long slog kind of war, why not make a peace plan at that time? Why chew up so much material and personnel on both sides?

I have noticed something odd over the past few years with my students, and even my son to a lesser extent. They are getting better at seeing obvious lies from politicians but they often immediately go to the thought that the opposite must be true, a very binary thought process. One of the topics that has come up is Ukraine, which since each side lies so much the kids argue by just pointing out each lie. I have had to shut it down several times and keep trying to get kids to see more nuance.

The second comic should tell you how much the left is considered liars, I do trust Trump more than the Big Guy, or Kamala but I certainly don't want him as my first choice.

Josh peaked in the playoffs in 2021, all but impossible to be better than that. He will never have that perfect season but I hope these last 6 games he goes back to the situation where he is the best player on the field each week.

For a news source to survive today this appears to be needed. CNN actually tried to become a true news source a few years ago and their ratings tanked horribly. They have returned to their old ways but have yet to recover.
