  1. So those other 5 teams that are causing as many turnovers as us have a record of 23-5 right now. Very telling. D is creating the opportunities. Those gifts need to be turned into points by the O. Huge momentum for us if we score, huge momentum the other way if we fail to score off a turnover that set us up with great field position.
  2. Miami fans are horrible, that's what's going on there! They can never sell that place out. Thursday night game at the Ralph last year was an absolute warzone. As was Cleveland a few years before. We had an awesome time, but it wasn't exactly what I would call a family friendly environment. I definitely understand why ownership or whoever else doesn't want night games at home. It's just debauchery at that place sometimes. I think maybe 8-8 or 7-9 with some more exciting finishes might get us one next year. Though it's not particularly loud, there is some national buzz about this team. People outside WNY are starting to notice Kiko and the defense, and EJ is a potential story line for the media. I agree Geno has a little more sensationalism to him, but I still think they are high on EJ too. Living in DC I would just love a game in primetime.
  3. While I think it's still too early to judge how Josh Freeman will turn out in Minnesota, I will say that after watching last night, I'm sure glad he's not a Bill. It wasn't just his performance, but how his attitude seemed the whole time. I remember one time he got hit and his o-lineman tried to give him a hand up, and he blatantly refused the help, got up, and pouted off the field. It was a pretty obvious snub to the guy that's supposed to protect you. Too many cameras in the NFL, too many people notice that kind of behavior, especially your teammates.
  4. Just watching this mess of a Monday night game and wondering if anyone thinks the Bills might get a nod for a real prime time game next season (Sunday or Monday night, most likely on the road of course). You'd never know it by watching network or ESPN coverage this year, but most of our games this year have been pretty entertaining. Even the Browns game was better than most Thursday night games so far... Any chance we might get one at home??
  5. Agree completely. And I've heard a lot of talk about 'taking shots'. Take a few shots down field on first downs when the D might be sleeping! Keep them honest, get a huge play, or still have two downs left to convert. Seems like it may be a better option SOMETIMES or ONCE IN AWHILE or AT LEAST ONCE THIS SEASON than all the runs for 1, 0, or -1 yards.
  6. We're like the rat that keeps shocking itself in a lab experiment. GO BILLS
  7. I really hope so. Even if he does play his ass off this year, gets along great with everyone in the locker room, loves the coaches... I still see no chance of him considering a contract here, UNLESS Whaley breaks down and pays him top safety, stupid Troy Polamalu money. And that's not going to happen. If we don't trade my money is he doesn't even negotiate with Bills, goes right to FA market. Doubt we would tag him again.
  8. 8 days to get desperate... Let's hope RGIII can show them that this week!
  9. C'mon Elway, you know you want to make a bold move! All we're asking is just for a little old first rounder. Shoot, that team that beat you last night did it earlier this year. See how well it works?
  10. I will buy one of those shirts for sure. Would be sweet if nike made an official nfl one with the big block letters. I see a lot of 'hail rgiii' nike shirts around dc. Always thought wish we had a player cool enough for one of those... now we do!
  11. Trying to use numbers from the whole defense to single out one player? Every member of the defense is responsible for only one gap. If you are saying Kyle is getting pushed around you just arent watching very closely. He controls his gap, and most of the time bliws up the o lineman assigned to him. He's not the greatest pass rusher ever, or the biggest playnaker getting off blocks, but he takes care of his responsibility and does it well. He is a good starter and were lucky to have him. Oh and film wise... people have done that. Check out the all 22 ratings so far this year. He is one of the highest rated players on our defense.
  12. I could see the Saints being good. Yeah I've been to PSU white outs (the first when they beat OSU was intense). Well, maybe they'll pull it off this time. I'll give it another chance before I determine that I hate it for good.
  13. Don't think it's just winning that one game itself, but leading your team for an entire season to that final victory is an achievement. Everyone looks to the QB as the leader of the team. It's an important quality that deserves to be measured. I can think of few quarterbacks who have won the superbowl who didn't have a leadership quality that was the right fit for that particular team. QBs who win multiple superbowls are far more impressive in that respect, because they are able to maintain that team mentality for multiple seasons.
  14. Just asking, what other NFL teams have done white out games? Just wondering if it worked for them (as far as actually getting the fans to participate fully). My point was it really didn't work in that aspect last time. There weren't 80,000 people wearing white. There were 30,000, and it looked like a sad, half hearted effort. I mean we'll see how it goes this time I suppose. If you're at the game please let me know. I agree it's cool when it works, but if it's half assed I think it's worse. I think players respond to the crowd noise more than the color of our shirts. Cincy game was pretty rocking and you could tell both teams knew it, even in our home blues.
  15. Truth. They did beat Miami last year wearing the white jerseys and blue pants... not the whole white get up. I guess KC will be only the second game where they've tried the whole Penn State rip off "White Out" theme though where they try to get all the fans to wear white then? Is that correct? Well if that's the case, I still think it's stupid. It didn't work vs the Jets, as only maybe half the stadium wore white. And we got destroyed. I guess I don't care as much about the jerseys as I do about the whole knock off White Out game concept.
  16. Yeah but we're not Dallas, or Miami, or one of the teams that has historically worn white at home. We started doing it while we were a losing team. We've consistantly lost while wearing white at home (granted, panthers game this year excepted, which was pretty awesome). I just dont understand why you try to start a trend like a white out game when A you havent historically worn white at home B you have lost most of those games and the fans will have a bad memory of the short history of white outs and C it doesnt work! Half the stadium wears white, half doesnt want to, doesnt care, or didnt get the memo. Its not a college campus where the word of a white out gets to everyones ears. The stadium looks like a bunch of jagoffs when only half participate.
  17. Anyone saying the defense is to blame for our losses is not watching the games or never played the game and doesnt understand situational football. Look at how many times the D has been playing great, then a bad turnover set the other team up in a position to score. Look at situations late in the game where our D was on the field drive after drive to watch our offense hurry up to go 3 and out. Those failures by the offense are absolutely crushing to a defense, both physically and mentally. There have definitely been some big plays given up by the D, but we also have had some serious injury problems in the defensive secondary that have contributed largely to those. This is the NFL. Teams are going to be able to score on you. I think our D has room to improve, but we need our O to pick them up occasionally as well. So far it has been all one sided. Think about how many times our O has given our D a lead to protect this year. Not many. Held off the patriots the whole second half until the 3 and outs eventually wore them down. Somehow kept us in a miserable offensive performance against the jets. Gave up inexcusable big plays to the browns, but kept us right there for the win until Tuel came in and crapped his pants. You cant read football games solely by the stat line. Points allowed, yards allowed, etc. Teams rack up stats for all sorts of reasons. I believe the most telling time for a defense is how they hold when they are given a lead to protect. Thats when a D needs to be clutch.
  18. Brown's ok for what he does. Always seems to ask thoughtful questions in interviews at least. Does anybody else think John Murphy is useless? I would rather listen to just the audio of marv albert calling the game than him. Zero analysis, zero insight, and completely boring.
  19. White out games are garbage. Remember being there two years ago for the Jets. Could have taken a two game lead in the division. Instead Fitzpatrick and co got rolled by Mark Sanchez. We are not Penn State. Stop stealing gimmicks from other teams. Do something original or just be normal. Dont try to force an atmosphere... its already awesome.
  20. F the refs. I hate to say it, but I really believe there is a tangible dislike of the Buffalo Bills amongst a lot of NFL refs. Hochuli especially. What the hell was the personal foul on Kyle? No contact, no punches thrown... did he say a naughty word Ed? How often do players jaw at each other on the field and it's never called. Where's the consistency. No way that flag is thrown when Brady calls someone a MFer.
  21. Obviously the book says no, absolutely not, tie the game and go to OT. But I just had that creeping feeling that I wanted them to go for 2, because I didn't think OT was going to go our way. I don't want to want them to go for 2 in that situation... I want the team to get good enough where I am confident in their ability to win those games at the end or in OT.
  22. Just wish Hackett would have tried to spread it out on those goal line runs. Versus a front like Cincinnati's, I thought maybe going four wides and getting a few bodies out of the box gives our backs a better chance to find that crease. Can't come away from that situation with no points.
  23. Threw one bubble screen to Stevie yesterday that went for -2. Have not tried a single RB screen, to CJ or Fred or anybody, all season. Disappointing to say the least.
  24. Agree on many of these points, especially the positive ones regarding Kiko, Lawson, Woods, Fred and Moats. A few points I take contention with are: CJ... We have not run one play this season, ONE PLAY, that gives him an opportunity to operate in any kind of space. Did Hackett look at any of the film from alst year? The screen pass was so effective for us, and we OVER used it. Maybe one or two screen occasionally where CJ has the chance to make people miss in the open field would work. Has anybody forget that we used to use him as a WR? Maybe split him out and throw a quick screen? CJ makes people miss, he's faster and shiftier than almost anyone in the league. Please Hackett, play to some of his strengths a little more. Stevie... One of, if not the best, game changing playmakers we have on the team. We were in this game because of the plays he made. Stevie is a hell of a player. Sometimes his competitiveness makes him forget himself. I'll take that guy any day over almost anyone. So glad he is a Buffalo Bill. A lot needs cleaned up on this team. But I like a lot of the guys we have. Keep learning EJ/Hackett, and please learn/adjust from mistakes. The heart and effort is there because of leaders like CJ, SJ, Kyle, etc. Just hope they stay hungry and want to win, win win. Go Bills.
