Don't understand history? No you don't. You are basically saying that ending, say, segregation, simply ended all the problems it created. Nope. Racism sucks

Political capital will not run out, its going to be a factor at every level of politics, with each new judge appointed etc, Brian Kemp is just one politician, the midterms are a much wider and more encompassing measuring stick -
Ya, just adding much more to the post, people using social media to harass people on a larger scale than you mentioned

Impact of Dobbs and Abortion Laws

Leaders of the antiabortion movement gathered in Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago office last week to head off what they viewed as a potential crisis. The former president’s reelection campaign had recently said that abortion restrictions “should be decided at the state level.” Days later, his rival, former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, delivered a speech arguing against federal abortion limits that did not have enough votes to pass both chambers of Congress. Trump’s guests, including Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins and Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.), showed him polling from the GOP firm On Message Public Strategies suggesting that a majority of Americans supported limiting the procedure after 15 weeks. They insisted that the federal government must still have a role. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/05/18/abortion-bans-republicans-2024/ -

DeSantis's police are descending on a school where children saw a movie with a gay character in it. They are going to interrogate the kids to see if...they saw the movie I guess. Don't say gay! https://www.hastingstribune.com/ap/national/state-may-question-florida-students-who-watched-disney-film-with-gay-character-in-class/article_c0fbffce-b96c-59cd-aa36-6517755ebc18.html -
A group of Senate Democrats is circulating a letter urging President Biden to prepare to invoke the 14th Amendment to unilaterally resolve the debt ceiling standoff without involving Congress, according to a copy obtained by The Washington Post ahead of its release. The letter, signed by five senators so far, reflects building unease among White House allies over the direction of negotiations between the president and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on an agreement expected to cut the deficit and raise the debt limit. Liberal lawmakers have balked as Biden entertains spending cuts and new work requirements on federal aid programs — fueling interest in a solution to the standoff that does not require a deal with McCarthy. The effort comes as House Democrats start to collect signatures for a discharge petition to move legislation that would raise the debt ceiling without any other policy changes, a long-shot procedural move aimed at bypassing the chamber’s Republican leaders. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/05/17/debt-ceiling-democrats-discharge-petition/ So that the GOP can claim we need to cut spending on things that help the American people

https://www.cnbc.com/2023/05/17/why-californias-high-speed-rail-is-taking-so-long-to-complete.html Despite the funding challenges, progress has been made on the project. In California’s Central Valley, 119 miles are under construction. The project recently celebrated its 10,000th construction worker on the job. The infrastructure design work is complete, and 422 out of 500 miles have been environmentally cleared, which is a monumental task in California.
