Next week, the Packers play host to the Cowboys on Sunday night. Ahhh...night game at Lambeau, where the diehards have had an extra seven hours to get completely plastered. It is Wisconsin, after all. Alcohol consumption is a huge participant sport, probably right next to bowling and snowmobiling. We will see if Green Bay has the mettle to beat up on Romo and T.O. and company. They can pull it off, especially with the way Rodgers is playing, but the defense can't get sloppy like it did the first two games (especially yesterday...16 points in the fourth to a dreadful Lions team).

I don't get it. I just don't, but apparently I'm alone
buckeyemike replied to Lv-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, I'm with you on this one. The Eagles seem to get a lot of attention, but every year, they never live up to their expectations. Except when the Pats* edged them in the Super Bowl. McNabb is a very good player, but it always seems like he has bad luck. They get T.O. their Super Bowl year, and Owens played great in the Super Bowl on a bum leg, but Owens then throws McNabb under the bus. He might have had a reason to, b/c McNabb was allegedly partying almost up until game time, while Owens was rehabbing like a demon. However, T.O. went about it all wrong, as T.O. did in his pre-Dallas days. Other than McNabb and Westbrook, I can't name anyone else on the Eagles. The Cowboys will beat them tonight, rather easily, setting up a big early-season Sunday nighter next week against the Packers at Lambeau Field. -
Father hits daughters naked boyfriend with metal pipe

That's a more appropriate response than what happened here. Whacking with a metal pipe. Dad's been watching too many episodes of "The Sopranos". -
Is Vince the worst QB ever to play in the Super Bowl? (Rams in XIV)

Sorry bacon lovers, Big Norm died today

That makes four of us. Incidentally, what do you think George Wendt's current cholesterol level is? -
So this is what's going on in Packerland, eh? Maybe if people are blind, deaf, dumb, and totally unable to smell.

It's a terrific imitation. "I can see Russia from my house!" How long before NBC complains and YouTube takes down the video? You can probably see it at NBC.com.

Let's jump into the Bills Wayback Machine here... Bruce Mathison thinks the same thing.

I know that two games does not a career (or a season) make, but how about the job Aaron Rodgers is doing as Packers' QB? I've been on Packers message boards, and during July and August, you would have thought that Packers GM Ted Thompson drank baby blood. BTW, as a side note, the Packer message boards pale in comparison to TSW. You had longtime Packer fans talking about how they were going to get rid of all their Green Bay swag, how fans were buying Favre jerseys, becoming Jets fans, things like that. In Wisconsin, that would be equivalent to treason, save for the circumstances involved in the whole Brett Favre saga (and I think both the team and Favre could have handled it much better than they did). Well, the Pack is 2-0 and doesn't seem to be abdicating their position atop the NFC North anytime soon. In Detroit yesterday, the two teams combined for 40 (that's right, 40) points in the 4th quarter. Green Bay actually scored three touchdowns in the last 7 minutes after the Lions took a 25-24 lead. Except for Favre, this is largely the same team that went to the NFC Championship last year. It's also the second-youngest team in the league. Green Bay may be setting themselves up for a nice long run as Super Bowl contenders.

And if you see that game in Kansas City, you will probably celebrate a Bills victory. The Chiefs have a legitimate shot to go 0-16 this year. They are freakin' terrible.

The BCS Title Game isn't going to happen for Ohio State this year, so don't worry about it. Thankfully, I missed most of the game Saturday, b/c I fell asleep in the first quarter. I woke up with about 11 minutes left in the fourth and it was 35-3, so I turned it off. And I thought this Buckeye team was better than last year's.

...and trashes Sarah Palin! Pot, meet kettle. Here we have a not very bright 22 year old actress who's already a has-been, who made exactly one good movie (Mean Girls, although the Freaky Friday remake was serviceable) and who lost her best, ahem, assets when she decided to be BFFs with Paris Hilton and become an anorexic, bleach-blond freak. Not to mention her recent decision to become a lesbian, or at least bisexual, purely for the tabloid attention. Nobody really cares here about what Lindsay says. I hope.

Godspeed everyone in Houston/Galveston. This is the first direct hit for them in 25 years. Let's hope and pray that the preparations are enough.

As I reach 5,000 posts (for the second time)

I'm back this evening. Vacation was good...nice to get away, but nice to be back home as well. I see that The Dean has returned from his self-imposed sabbatical. Welcome back to one of my favorite posters! -
I'll be out of town and on vacation after today. Next Thursday is my ninth wedding anniversary (and yes, that happens to be September 11). Kim and I are going down state for a few days, to one of our favorite vacation areas (near Amish country). We were supposed to go to Virginia Beach, but we saw what the weather was going to be like and cancelled our plans due to Hanna and possibly other storms next week. So, I should be back after the week 2 games. Adios for now!

BTW, what do all these politicians have in common? They all seem to be Democrats. Go figure. -
Obama's favorite mayor going to jail!!

There have been allegations of voter fraud in his reelection campaign in 2005, where Kwame was trailing badly in the polls and somehow pulled it out. Many big cities have corrupt politics...there's a scandal going on in my county right now. The former county recorder pled to an obscenity charge re: online porn a few months ago, denying it was child pornography (yeah, right...the Feds don't charge you for the regular Playboy-type stuff). About six weeks back, the FBI raided offices of other county officials. The county recorder is probably the biggest douchebag I've ever seen. He has a history of getting into fights, beat up his ex-wife, and didn't go to jail b/c his best friend and college roomie is the county prosecutor. In short, he's a really bad guy. He's probably singing like Bruce Springsteen to the feds. Thus, the raid and future charges pending. -
What decade was the best for watching NFL football ?

I would think the 70s, but if you're not looking at right now, you'll miss something new. -
"The Express" - Ernie Davis movie

The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer has an article about Ernie Davis this morning. -
HAHAHAHA As my friend from college said about the Palin pick, it's just what America needs...a hot nerdy librarian look-a-like as Vice President. And he likes her.

Either way, I like Todd Palin

Jesus was not a vegan: According to Luke 24:42-43, the disciples gave Jesus a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence. Just wanted to point that out. -
Gotta love this music! "September" by Earth, Wind and Fire; one of my favorite '70s tunes.

To answer this question once and for all: Bridget McCain was on stage when the McCain and Palin families came on. Under NO circumstances is McCain "hiding" his daughter.

Hahahaha...the song right now playing at the arena? "Barracuda" by Heart.
