  1. Yes, and if McCain drops Palin now, he has NO CHANCE of winning on November 4. Then, Obama wins in a landslide in the easiest prediction in American history. With Palin, McCain has a fighting chance. Maybe a Rocky-Balboa-fighting-Apollo-Creed-chance, but a chance. We will know more after Palin's speech tonight. Who knows? She may well address a lot of what has been written about her and her family. It wouldn't surprise me...Alaskans are a different breed. I think Sarah Palin hit a home run last Friday...she needs another one tonight.
  2. The last two might be her, but the first three really don't look like Bristol Palin. Again, how do we know these weren't Photoshopped??? Nobody knows for sure. I simply don't trust this. And it's like Chef said...what were you all doing when you were 17? Me, I was actually worried about my future. Didn't drink, smoke, or do drugs. I tried to be a good kid, and live by those values that my parents instilled in me. My rebellious years (such as they were) didn't really happen until I was around 25 or so. I remember seeing one of the pics on Friday of the Palin family. Bristol didn't look too happy...like she knew the s--- was gonna hit the fan.
  3. Mario. You can count me as one that I thought it was the wrong pick...that the Texans needed a "face of the franchise" in Reggie Bush. Largely because I can't name five players for the Houston Texans. Now, I can admit that I was wrong. Mario has had a better career to date. This pick, and the success Mario has had, is why I'm not a football executive.
  4. ...and the next jump from there is the Illuminati and the Rothchilds and the seven elderly Jewish men who control everything that happens in the world from a cave in Switzerland. There is simply too much random chance in the world to accept either of these theories.
  5. Good Lord, what a vile column.
  6. I wish. It's a government ruled by the richest persons. I know some would argue that's what we have now, but it really isn't.
  7. You know, I'm thinking about joining the NRA over all of this.
  8. Then you would have an oligarchy. Many people don't know what an oligarchy is, but I bet you do.
  9. Has Obama ever run a business? Palin has. Has Obama ever run a community? Palin has. Has Obama ever run a state? Palin has. By the transitive property of equalities, I am not sure that Obama could run a Starbucks, much less the United States.
  10. Something else that has not been taken into account: Most people who vote don't post vitriol on internet message boards. We have no idea what's going to happen until November 4.
  11. I am a male evangelical. And I do not oppose her. Take from that what you will.
  12. Complications from emphysema at age 71. One of my guilty pleasures among movies is "Smokey and the Bandit". He was also the bad-guy football coach in "The Waterboy". Also wrote and recorded "Guitar Man", and played guitar on the Elvis version. "Eastbound and Down", "Amos Moses"...some pretty good stuff. RIP, Snowman.
  13. I'm a Christian, and I hope my life backs up what I profess. I make a lot of mistakes, though. I'm actually harder on the moral do-gooders, because there is usually some skeleton in their closet. We all have them. This all started with Gary Hart...follow me, you'll be very bored. Oops, who's that hot blonde coming out of your townhouse? Abstinence is best, but birth control should always be available. Since I'm pro-life, I cannot support abortion.
  14. Hanna could hit somewhere around Savannah/Charleston by Thursday night. We were supposed to go to Virginia Beach next week, but changed our plans. I'm glad we did, because that area could be affected by Hanna. And Ike may be next.
  15. I honestly thought that was The Onion at first.
  16. The NY Daily News is reporting who the father of Bristol's baby is. Complete with picture. For principle's sake, I will not link to the story. I just wanted to point out that it took less than twenty-four freakin' hours to report the story, and find out who babydaddy is. It seems there is no right to privacy anymore. For anyone. For God's sake, I don't need to know about this story. Just as I didn't need to know that Britney wasn't wearing undies or that Miley Cyrus took some pics that she probably regrets already. We've become such a salacious nation. We want to know everyone else's business all the bleepin' time. A country of busybodies, like Gladys Kravitz on "Bewitched". This is too ugly for me. I'm signing off for the night.
  17. Is it possible that the new details could help Governor Palin? The libs should probably tread lightly here...I'm starting to think this could backfire, big-time, against the Obamatons.
  18. 1) My parents didn't know what I was up to half the time. I kept my bedroom door locked. 2) A bucket of warm spit. (bonus: Which VP said that about the job? John Nance Garner, and it was actually a bucket of warm p!$$.) 3) I know it's next to Iran. Other than that, I haven't had my foreign policy briefing yet this week. 4) I was a history major. Francis Bellamy. I guarantee that Barack Obama doesn't know that.
  19. The ultimate answer to all this? No one in the Palin family seems to be hiding anything.
  20. Mea culpa.
  21. True. Buffalo's own Grover Cleveland (Ma, Ma, where's my Pa) and his illegitimate child. Wow...Rachel Jackson? She who was accused of bigamy? I didn't know you were an amateur historian. Nice job!
  22. Draft dodger??? I'll be in my early 50s then, you young whippersnapper.
  23. Dammit, we will not talk about real news around here when a hottie conservative politician's daughter dropped her panties and now she's preggo. (((sarcasm off))) Actually, this is big and far more important news than Bristol Palin. Thank you.
  24. Dear God, if that happens, I'm moving to Canada.
