  1. I think it was his achilles, but you are correct. I'll never forget his first game, at the stadium. He was all over the field, knew he was something special right away.
  2. Not if we don't complete the passes. This is such a simplistic view of running offenses, fans have said this for years. What happens when we start running, will the defense all drop back into the secondary?
  3. Some black coaches are probably pretty good and earn their interviews. Unless all the owners/gm's are racist and need prodding.
  4. I'm not a cardinals expert, I still waste most of my time on the Bills, but he's been an a consistent, above average WR, high YPC which is likely a product of the offensive structure, but was injured in camp and had a case of the drops this season. And Carson Palmer blows. From what I've seen, he'd be a nice pickup , but don't expect him to come cheap.
  5. that's a fair assessment and it does seem that coordinators generally get the HC interviews, but he was interviewed last season so I'm assuming there is a reason for that above the coordinator requirement. He coached under and apparently is held in high regard by Parcels, that can't hurt.
  6. I don't think it's easy to be a first time coordinator starting in week 3. I think it's been a very smooth and productive transition. Our offense is good enough to win games, our defense blows. It seems to many people that the only reason black coaches get HC interviews is because of the rooney rule, unfortunately that may be true, but it also may be because he is a highly regarded candidate.
  7. This isn't about meddling. It's about having the roles clearly defined. To expect a GM to work with a coach that wasn't his choice and to have the coach report directly to the owner and not the gm doesn't seem to make any sense to me. He may be meddling if he is upsetting the normal structure of the football operations.
  8. Using Jeff George as an example to take a chance on a QB can't be a good thing. I understand the issues with Taylor, and maybe because it's easier to focus on one player as opposed to a whole unit, but the main reason we are not in the playoffs is because of the poor performance of our defense. Our offense has scored enough to win a few games that we lost, and if healthier the whole season, would likely have been even better. This offense has enough talent when healthy to get in the playoffs, if complimented by a good defense.
  9. How about this from all the Sabres and Bills fans out there - "All we need is a rich owner willing to spend money and we'll be fine!"
  10. this pretty much sums the whole thing up.
  11. does that fact that he misses lot's of kicks concern you at all?
  12. Which trainers would you like to hire to replace ours? Do you have any in mind? Let's find the best trainers and pay them whatever they want, don't be cheap Pegula!
  13. are you one of those 'facts' people? because Walsh had such a great season? starting with the missed chip shot in the playoffs last year?
  14. You have continuity by firing your coaching staff? And why would you want continuity? Nothing against Lynn, but as others have stated, a new HC will bring in his own staff, but with the Pegula's, you never know. He hired a coach before a GM with the Sabres and it appears he hired Rex when the GM should have.
  15. where do you here all this stuff? anywhere credible?
  16. Give credit however you wish, but 2 years ago we had a championship quality defense and special teams. The next season we loaded up on offensive talent. I think the GM built a strong team and Rex tore it down.
  17. I think with any respectable DC, both Darby and Gilmore would make a elite CB duo. Fire the coach, keep the good players.
  18. Are you saying the 2014 defense wasn't good?
  19. this seems to be the most overlooked issue this season, so much focus on TT. You give us the 2014 defense and we are in the playoffs.
  20. So what happened in the 2nd half against the Raiders that didn't happen in the first half. And remember , the Raiders were missing starters on defense. fair enough. ok.
  21. Don't quite know how to respond to this, but I think this line of yours says it all. "So to act like we must fill the holes with good players at WR, S, CB and RT to do so is ridiculous." I have egg on my face, I actually fell for your act. I thought you were being serious. Jokes on me. I'm a little more optimistic than you are, just a little though.
  22. I guess I look at things differently, maybe having watched these teams for over 40 years has me a little more results oriented. The first big decision was to hire Rex and give him 5 years... I think that's a big mistake. With the Sabres, should have let go of Regier immediately, hiring Lafontaine and Nolan was a joke. He went for good PR, not good quality. I think I like Murray, but the Winnipeg trade will likely turn out a loser, Lehner is still up in the air, and we really need to turn it on soon to have a legitimate playoff chance. It's too soon to say the Sabres on the right track for sustained success and the Bills have huge question marks with the HC and QB, not a good place for question marks.
  23. Part of me agrees with you, but we are still in last place, or just above Toronto. Kinda weak at defense, unsure of goalies... forwards starting to look better. I'm more optimistic about the Sabres than the Bills. I don't have faith in Rex, and if he does, it may set things back a bit. by your logic, every team is 'close' to the playoffs. Basically, we need to settle our QB situation, fill holes at WR, S and CB.... you forgot RT. So we have major holes to fill in order to maybe make the playoffs. I'm not too thrilled right now.
