  1. Yeah right. He'll still find some crap to spew.
  2. Anyone that can say JP hasn't shown a glimpse of greatness, is insane. Great game in every respect! However, I really want to say I'm really starting to love Holcomb. The number of times he's talking to JP, seemingly helping him understand things and encouraging him. He's really becoming a favorite of mine.
  3. I think he's just ULTRA conservative and figures why risk anything. We have the lead and get the ball back to start the 3rd. So, why not just run out the clock. On one hand, I can see the logic. On the other, I think it shows a definitive lack of balls.
  4. On the fumble at the end of the secong quarter, he was "helping" tackle the guy with the ball. That's about the only time I can really say that I've seen his jersey.
  5. Exactly. Looks like some of those people that wanted an exciting high scoring loss are getting their wish. If the defense can't step up, this as all the makings of a colossal loss.
  6. There was 26 seconds after the 2nd down run. 3rd down play.... left 20 seconds on the clock. Then we punt. Friggin pathetic!
  7. 2 weeks in a row and nothin not even an attempt to get points before the half!!! Jauron is really starting to piss me off.
  8. Houston must really suck! Seriously, now why haven't we opened it up like this more often?
  9. More importantly... did you notice him roll out to his right on the 2nd down play.
  10. How bad is this... when he made the interception, I thought of you.
  11. I spent the week on the road and talked to many friends who were Steeler, Eagle, and Bear fans. And believe me they love to give me crap about the Bills. However, they all thought the Bills played a good game and probably should have beaten the Colts. It was quite refreshing given my feelings after the game and reading all the comments here. So, maybe we're not as bad as many here think? Just throwing it out there.
  12. The difference is this.... with the QB under center, he has to drop back 5 steps takes say 2 seconds. Then look for receiver 1, receiver 2 ..... bam. He's getting hit or has someone right in his face. So he's throwing rushed or getting sacked after 3 - 3.5 seconds. In a shotgun, the ball is snapped; he's already back and looks at reciever 1 - who's running a slant and ....bam. He's throwing the ball in 2-2.5 seconds. Maybe its not always complete, but its not nearly as bad. Then mix in a few rollouts, a few bombs down field, and a RB draw from that shotgun position. And what do you know, suddenly we're not that predictable. And maybe we finally getto see if JP can be a QB.
  13. This fact is sooo true and oh sooo sad at the same time. What other team in the league boasts about their punter?
  14. This is an inaccurate statment and should be avoided. JP regularly avoids sacks. I've reviewed most of the games this season and he has stepped up, side stepped, or scrambled left/right several times every game. Granted he's done less the last 2 weeks, but he's dropped back less, as well. Certainly, he doesn't avoid all sacks. But, to say he rarely or never avoids a sack is just not reality. The problem with JP's sacks is that they're almost always exactly when we DON'T need one. It's almost as if the defense just sits back and picks and choosed when they want to get a sack. But, by the same token, opposing offenses seem to get the first down on our defense in a similar fashion; i.e. whenever thet really want to.
  15. Maybe we should script the first 40 plays?
  16. Well, it was a 4 way tie, so I figure I can pick the winner. Considering the Bills came terribly close to winning; I've determined that you gringo, my friend, were almost right. Hence, I'll take the final selection in the voting and call the bet a draw. I so hoped you would be right. Maybe I should have bragged about getting to change your sig more. Or even demanded that you change it before the game. Perhaps then we could have pulled it out. All in all, it was a disappointing loss, because all Bill's losses are. But, I must admit, we played alot better than I thought we would have.
  17. Exactly. Look no further than our series before the half. Down by 7 with 2+ minutes on the clock and what did we do? Absolutely nothing. And it seemed that it was by design. They never let JP run a 2 minute offense. The coaches decided to sit on the ball and punt. We got lucky with the fumble and run back; so perhaps their plan worked. But, in no way was JP ever in a position to win the game. I liked the game plan. I really did. It gave us a shot in the end. But, come on, we gotta open it up a little bit. Just a little.
  18. One word..... coaches. This was the same game plan as last week. Last week we got lucky; this week we didn't. IMO, how you can't blame JP? He's not being given the chance at all. Just look at the end of the 1st half. They have 2 and half minutes and totally sat on the ball - down by 7 points. JP looks defeated. The whole team does! And I say its because the coaching staff is trying so hard to not make mistakes, that they're not trying to win.
  19. OK. When the Colts beat us tomorrow (I really hope this jinxes them), Gringo gets a new sig line. Here are the choices. Your votes decide his fate...
  20. Willis is below average because he's from the U, has a baby mama, has no heart, no speed, doesn't want to be in Buffalo, of course he sucks, he runs his mouth off and (las but not least) he's got a commercial on NFL Network. I think that just about covers them all.
  21. My intent was to attempt a comparison between Buffalo's O-line (which many will argue as being one of the worst in the league) and Indy's O-line (which could be considered one of the best in the league). I threw in the Pats only because they were playing the Colts; therefore, I had the data right infront of me as I was fast forwarding. In particular, I hoped to tease out which QB had more time in the pocket. As as already been mentioned, however, that's not precisely what I measured. If some could tell me how, I might attempt it (although I deleted the NFL Replay game). It's not meant to be an apples to apples comparison. It's meant to be a "how do we stack up to the best" comparison.
  22. Exactly, this is something I've wondered for a while. But, I'm not sure hw to measure it. JP seems pressured far more than average. He may have time, but he's under pressure that whole time. And had very few lanes to pass through. Not to mention, his receivers don't bail him out much. The drops by Royal and Evans were huge fowl ups by the recievers. All of that leads to less confidence and more pressure on the QB.
  23. I would agree that Manning and Brady created alot. They certainly step up; however, I really don't think JP had much to step up into. Therefore, that option is out (at least in the GB game). However, it did seem that Manning (not Brady so much) stepped back quite a bit to create some separation. He almost seems to drift back while scanning. Perhaps that's something learned. I don't really know.
  24. I'd completely agree with your assessment. And I thought of that... this is definitely not a measure of how much time they had to throw, but how long until they did throw or get sacked/run. This was just an attempt to see, is there a difference in the amount of time that JP has vs Manning (I actually threw Brady in as an afterthough - hence less numbers).
