Jauron wants Losman, Holcomb to compete for starting job February 14, 2006 ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- J.P. Losman won't be handed the Buffalo Bills starting quarterback job for next season. This time, he's going to have to earn it from Kelly Holcomb. Newly hired coach Dick Jauron said he'll open the job to a competition this spring between Losman and Holcomb, the veteran journeyman with the hope of having a starter ready by the start of training camp. How about Losman versus just about anybody BUT Holcomb. The thought of this guy being the starting QB for 2006, makes me want to fast forward through the 2006 season and right into 2007.

It's quality not quantity that matters. Are they going to fill the position...of course. Are they going to get someone of high quality at this point in the season. I doubt it. I guess I just viewed AVP as a plus for UB and didn't want to see him jump ship one month into the job.
-
I think AVP put the screws to UB on this one. If he didn't want the UB job and had his heart set on an NFL job(he was sniffing around Green Bay prior to the Bills opening), why not just stay with Murph until something opened up. I think the last thing Turner Gill needs as he tries to turn this program around is to have guys flip flopping on him.

If he wanted to be creative, why not tape the pencil to the outside of IT! -
That just about sums it up.

Considering the boards would block part of your sight line in terms of following the puck, I would have to believe that the seats in the upper deck would be preferred over the end zone seats(especially the lower rows). But then again, I've always been a fan of the upper deck vantage point at RWS.

Amen to that. I don't know why ESPN still can't have a 30 minute hockey show twice a week with Buccigross, Melrose, etc... Has the fyou smiley come back yet, because I could really use it right here. -
'American Idol' Crushes Grammys in Ratings Thursday February 9 5:23 PM ET Some humbling news for professional musicians like Madonna and U2: By a wide margin, TV viewers prefer the amateurs. Nearly twice as many people 28.3 million watched "American Idol" than watched the Grammy Awards 15.1 million when the two music programs went head-to-head in prime time Wednesday, according to Nielsen Media Research. In large part due to the "American Idol" competition, it was the least-watched Grammy Awards in Nielsen records dating back to the 1970s.

I could be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that Patrick and McGuire are going to stay teamed up to do college football games. -

PTR...I agree 100%. I think the Houston owner whose name escapes me is also part of the "new breed" of greedy owners. -

Detroit is getting pounded with snow tonight...
LabattBlue replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you have 60,000-70,000 tourists in town, 8 inches of snow is a major pain in the ass. My point is, this is why the SB should never be held in a northern city. -
Detroit is getting pounded with snow tonight...
LabattBlue replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? I thought it was an open air stadium. My point is who wants to travel all thay way, spend all kind of money and have to put up with a snowstorm to travel around in for the weekend. -
This is why the SB should be on a regular rotation of San Diego, Miami, New Orleans, Houston and maybe Arizona. Courtesy of weather.com... SNOW... OCCASIONALLY MIXED WITH RAIN INTO EARLY THIS EVENING... WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES TONIGHT. THE BEST THREAT FOR HEAVY SNOW WILL BE DURING THE EVENING HOURS. SNOW WILL TAPER OFF SUNDAY MORNING AFTER SUNRISE... BUT NOT BEFORE LEAVING TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS IN THE 4 TO 8 INCH RANGE. IN ADDITION...NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE TONIGHT...WITH GUSTS AROUND 30 MPH POSSIBLE AFTER MIDNIGHT. THIS MAY CAUSE CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW.

Would you "share" the Bills with Toronto...
LabattBlue replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sharing the Bills with Toronto ever unless they want our preseason games. If Toronto wants a franchise let the go get the approval of Tagliabue. 8 regular season games at RWS EVERY year or bust. -
The Super Bowl is all about corporate sponsorship. It stopped being primarily an event for the fans to attend many many moons ago. Big money folks want to fly into town on Thursday evening or Friday morning, be schmoozed on Friday and Saturday nights at numerous "invite only" parties and events and then watch the game on Sunday. That's part of the reason why the game will never be held on Saturday.

Texas A&M vs Seattle, Buffalo, and Chicago
LabattBlue replied to Chilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In order for the rocket scientists down in Assbackwards, TX to realize that we have a 12th man sign up on our Wall of Fame, they would need electricity and TV's. I'm sure if they were aware of it, they would be making a stink about it. Don't they have some constipated cattle that need some assistance. What a bunch of petty f***ers! -
They might want to make a pit stop at the weight loss clinic along the way. I'm having trouble picturing MW joining the others arm in arm as they begin skipping and singing... We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of oz...
