  1. Phili? Arizona? San Diego? Sure. As long as he isn't here smashing his some into the back of our Guards.
  2. Square peg. Round hole. As much as you want it to fit, as hard as you try, you just cannot make his style work in a system unfit for his ability. Do you really want to watch Spiller between the tackles again next year?
  3. What makes you think anything would be different? Have you watched any 49ers games in the last 4 years?
  4. I can't stand him. I think he is a cocky, overrated running-QB attempting to convert to a pocket passer. He's inaccurate and overpaid. Is he a way better option than anyone on our roster? Sure. But I'd rather explore other options than this. Oh, and the fact I highly doubt that they'd give him up for a 2nd.
  5. +1 I'd like to see some fresh legs next year. A pair that carries 235 pounds of nasty.
  6. That's what we have Sammy for. Yet again, Spiller doesn't fit the mold
  7. No skin off my back. I doubt they'd want to retain him anyways. They have no connection to the guy what so ever
  8. I feel like everyone shys away from addressing the issue at QB. If we want to be contenders, we need to find the guy.
  9. I don't understand this. Did we draft him for his perimeter blocking prowess? Sure, he needs to be a competent blocker. But you'd like to think tht they have bigger plans in store for a guy of his caliber.
  10. You could if you hit on one of your picks. The point is that this year there is no free agent QBs that are worth the time. Other positions can be filled, depth in free agency. I'm not suggesting it every year. You make great points about over paid veteran talent. What would you like breakdown at QB to look like going into OTAs?
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but idt they drafted Sammy for his blocking prowess. He has shown to be a competent blocker. I hope Roman has much bigger plans for him.
  12. If you do it right, you wouldn't need to do it every year. I agree that Whaley has been very spot on with later picks (woods, brown, kiko) but I would absolutely sacrifice depth (something you could add through FA) for a competent signal caller
  13. Good point. So if they truly are lottery selections, wouldn't the more tickets me have raise our chances of winning?
  14. This is either a sick joke or you're terribly misinformed...
  15. The wait is suspenseful. I wanna hear the presser. Hope someone asks some juicy questions instead of the fluff they usually throw at them: "So Rex, is EJ your guy?" "How do you feel about the Jets now?" "Is your ego going to limit the success of this team?"
  16. Okay so limit it to a second and third round selection. 2 rookies, a vet and EJ.
  17. The premise of this idea is that you bring in volume to increase your chance of landing one.
  18. They'd obviously establish a pecking order based off OTAs. Reps would be limited, as you suggest. But all it takes is to hit on one of your guys. You'd hope if you found some real talent, you would be able to see it in however many reps they get. The conversation started as a trade but I'm proposing drafting.
  19. Marrone really screwed him. He's sitting on 4 mil and a possible job while Hackett and co. will likely be canned.
  20. In a conversation I had with a friend (college FB coach), we were discussing the overwhelming need for good QB play. I proposed the question, would you trade all of your picks in 2015 for a suitable QB? He said yes, his reasoning: -QB is the most important position in football -there are no QBs in free agency worth a look - all other holes can be filled through free agency -if you select 2 or 3 QBs, you're more likely to land one A pretty far fetched idea, I know. But not the craziest thing I've heard. Thoughts?
  21. Agreed. Never been a huge Kaep fan. He's not accurate and has terrible poker presence (most sacks in the league. He's overhyped because of his mobility and their success which should falls more upon the coaching staff than it does hm.
  22. Franchise Hughes? The number would be way too high and does little to insure a long term deal. I seem to value spike more than most people. You just can't have too many good LBs. No thanks to Cutler unless he is released (which won't happen). Other than that, a lot of ood points.
  23. I wouldn't mind this move. EJ and Sanchez battle it out in camp. Draft a late round flier. Or... Spend every meaningful pick on a QB. Take one in the second and third
