I kind of like this, in a weird stat frenzy kind of way.... Any chance you could also post updates to the current spot in the thread? If I see someone commented on the thread, on my phone the thread will bring me to where I was last. Then I have to go back to the front for the update, and THEN back to the end of the thread to comment/discuss. just being nit picky. No problem if you can’t. I’ll just haunt your dreams.

Hughes is awesome, and gets constant pressure. Between his effort, speed and technique, he seems to always be in the mix. I love his bend off of the edge. I think he’s got a few more sacks in him if he can lean a little more into the OT in his edge rush. He really wins with speed and bend, but often runs the wheel a little wide (hence, the contain issues we’ve had at times). I like Hughes as a DE, but he is a bit of a one trick pony as a pass rusher on the edge. The games they play up front will help get him to the QB in other ways.

I’d love this. When I hear/see this type of talk, I always think of the “rah-rah” hype them up player. This is a criticism of McDermott AND the roster as a whole, but I don’t just see this as a single person/player’s fault. Here goes nothing: One thing I’ve always been irked by (yet, also respected) is McDermott’s sideline demeanor specifically is response to errors. He is not a fire in your face, cloud up and rain type of coach. This is fine. But if that is the case, there needs to be someone to turn to. A player that McD can rely on or tip his hat to in an effort to bring some passion and heat back into the players. I’d love, just once, to see ANYBODY get pissed off at a lack-luster drive. McD is always so calm, cool and collected and I think that can be reflected in the play and demeanor of the team, especially within the offense at times.

You know what the other teams staff puts their players in a position to be successful, and exploit match-ups, and how we refer to this as “out-coached”? What is the appropriate terminology for the opposite, where as your coaches aren’t necessarily contributing to the aforementioned advantage, but the opposing coach is negatively hurting their chances? Under-coached?

That 2nd half, my god. 3 turnovers, countless questionable personal fouls, other penalties, mixed together with random positive plays (gave Davis bomb, Singletary gash, etc) was just a roller coaster of emotions. “Hey let’s sack them, and then give up a hail marry!”
