9/7/25 Other games chat (Around the League)
Coastie replied to RobbRiddick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wow, flurry of defense (or desperation) on the red zone. Three sacks in a row I think it was. -

Yeah, I have them in my best ball league and I was very happy with what I saw of them today. Cincy's offense is no joke, even in week one and Brownies held their own. -

Ouch Nix. Broncos fans better hope this is just that weird week one bug. -
Week 1, Nevermores v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!

I think the second half is going to get nuts somehow and turn this into a shootout. Bills 33, Ravens 27 -
The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
Coastie replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
We know the Chiefs had Worthy higher than Coleman since they picked him. They must have had him at least the value of the 3rd rounder you mention higher or they wouldn't have traded and... The Bills had Coleman higher than Worthy or close enough the 3rd rounder was worth letting the Chiefs pick instead of picking themselves. If it isn't those two things it really would be an idiotic trade. If it is those two things, the Bills made a smart trade. Are people alleging the Bills actually wanted Worthy but stupidly risked losing him for the 3rd round pick? -
The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
Coastie replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right? Both teams had the chance to draft both players. The Bills didn't want Worthy over Coleman or they would have drafted him and never traded. The Chiefs did want Worthy over Coleman because they drafted him. Just like it ended up except we got a little something something. The complaint is actually that the Bills didn't want Worthy as much as they should have, not that they executed the trade. The trade worked out perfectly for the Bills if they had Coleman rated higher than Worthy. -

I think the change awhile back not letting defenders line up over the center helps as well, there is no reason to not have a clean snap any more and the smallest thing off is magnified on the long ones. -

The Bills have had two of weirdest games of the year be the first game of the year, the Rodgers Jets game and the Steelers game the year before. Some of these games are blatant lies. -

Last year was the first time I made the active choice to ignore watching the NFL the "right" way because of their sprawl. Games every night of the week on 15 different streaming services was too much. The NFL is doing everything it can to kill the Golden Goose and they are lucky it is one tough bird. I can't speak for others but my NFL related spending has dropped the last two years at a time when the Bills are having a great run. When this run ends, who knows what it will be.

Most likely reason is Eagles were afraid someone else was going to trade for the Chief's spot and take the LB so they gave away a 5th just to be sure no one came in and sniped their guy.

That suit is Fancy Christmas wrapping paper... but if you looked in my closet you would question anything I have to say about fashion.

I meant go to four consecutively, not necessarily losing four consecutively. And of course if the Chiefs did get to a fourth in a row, Theirs would be better than Ours because they won at least two. And honestly, they would be right I think.
-
How long before the narrative for next year is can the Chiefs tie the Bills as the only team to go to 4 consecutive Super bowls? Or is it already out there and I haven't heard it.

It seems like Brown realized he could over commit to any kind of rush move to outside by the edge rusher because if he does get beat on a reverse or spin to an inside move, Allen recognizes the defense has lost contain and will drift or flat out break the pocket to his right and he is deadly outside the pocket on that side. So Brown now has a real advantage on any outside move and can get away with getting beat inside to the extent that it almost seems like they are baiting defenders into taking an inside rush so Allen can do his thing. Maybe this was happening before but I really noticed it this year.

The last word I heard was snow arriving in the third quarter according to the experts. But who really knows. -
1/18 Texans @ Chiefs divisional playoff thread
Coastie replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if somehow the Chiefs get a terrible call against them next week. Not because someone is making a conscious decision to "script" it that way but because the humans that referees the game have to hear this stuff and maybe, just maybe, those 50/50 calls don't go the "face of the league's" way by default. -
I have always assumed the refs talked to players between plays when they were pushing the limit so to speak, a warning that next time there could be a flag. Haven't been to enough live games to know what happens between media timeouts to know that a sideline conversation was so unusual but the consensus seems to be it is.

Snap-shotting what I am wearing for next week. Luckily it will be appropriate for a Super Bowl party.
