they have some really great content. Several excellent podcasts, And they have relationships it seems with some bills players and beat writers.

I said this coming into the Jets game, but the thing that this team needs is to learn how to “win ugly.” there is a little Clip I post below, where the commenters made this same point about the patriots. Brady would be off, or guys would be injured, or they just wouldn’t play their best. In those games, they still knew how to win. Key ST play, decent game from a RB, not turning the ball over, etc. For us, that means not turning the ball over, taking the check downs, making some FG’s, hitting good punts, playing field position, letting the other inferior teams make mistakes. If we had done that yesterday, it would have been an easy but maybe ugly 20-10 win. I think a lot of this comes down to coaching and offensive playcalling and decision-making. The Bills really need to play cleaner games. This is a long season— can’t always play your best football or be fully healthy. agreed, esp based on the crew out there today. They didn’t even overrule that spot for the Jets when the ball clearly hit the line of gain. Not reversing anything close.

55-yarder is no gimme. More bothered by the kick out of bounds— his second of the year. I think they have him really try to sky those and place them in a precise spot— juice may not be worth the squeeze.

I agree. But I think the problems are the D-line not winning. Earlier in the year, they were killing it. That allowed the LBs to feast. Today was a bit of an anomoly because the bills dlinemen were also held quite a bit. if there is any issue past the line, it is mostly with J. Johnson. Takes bad angles and misses too many tackles.

There was lots of holding by the jets on those big runs. On one of their biggest runs, Phillips was held badly. I actually don’t mind if they let that go— but to call that hold on DD at the end then, it really had to have been egregious. And it wasn’t. Killed that drive.

The problems with the run D do not relate to Taron. It’s like 90% our d-line getting beat at the point. Two games in a row.

agreed. That, plus I think Dawkins arms being on the outside made it a bad look.

this is actually the best description. His pick on the pass to Knox today— just like out to lunch. Very weird.

If they can rest him through thanksgiving, I think case can get us to 2-1 or 1-2.

I am confident. This team needs to learn how to win these ugly games. Charles Davis made that point on the broadcast today and he is right. we don’t need to be flashy. We just need to play clean.

yeah, I didn’t love that: if you aren’t calling holds all day, then don’t start there on the last drive. on the non-DPI, a different crew calls that. These guys let both teams’ DBs hand fight and jostle all day. So at least it was consistent. More frustrated that Gabe didn’t catch it.

That was their MO today. Just going to make the “easy” calls. I would rather the refs stay out of the way than make game-changing plays, even if we come out on the wrong end.

What was weird today was they went away from all the pin and pull stuff that had worked, and went back to those bad wide zones that don’t.

I didn’t mind the refs. They were just going to let them play all day. Not calling anything. The one irritating thing was the hold on the last drive, when our guys were getting held on many of those big jets runs. to call the first hold of the game there was bad— but I didn’t see it and maybe it was just egregious.

These are the games when it is better to play smarter than harder. They just needed to kick FGs and not turn the ball over. Only way jets win is with the turnovers.
