The kid grew up in a heavy gang area and didn't really fit in with anyone. He went to his hometown school, but transfered to get away from getting babied by his family. He had no line to speak of his last two years at Tulane yet performed well. He is very resilient because of all this life experience. He played like horseshit today. If nothing else, listen to JP, he's a realist. He knows he sucked today. Pulling him and putting him back in isn't going to do sh-- to his confidence. He's not Ryan Leaf----he will find the one or two positive things he did..and build on them...so will his yoda-Sam Wyche. As to the goal line situation...running the ball and kicking it away would have been great--but at some point in time--JP is going to face that situation in the 4th quarter, down 2, 2 minutes left and we will have to pass..its probably the most difficult on-field situation a QB has to face...these are the reps that you can't create in practice--he needs to experience them on the field. I have no problem taking some risks if it quickens JP's development. Did anyone think we would go 16-0 with a first year starter at QB? Today was the first of many growing pains. The roller coaster has started--

Next week--drug suspension for too much NyQuil and too many Halls lozenges

Changing the team name to the Liberaces...only if we add sequins Ross Verba has been hired as road trip "fun" coordinator--destined to be 0 -8 on the road this season but lots of bikini and bubbly to drown the sorrows...

Remember the old dashboard special...leave 6 tickets on your dashboard with the window open at the grocery store and when you get back there will be 12 tickets... UB tickets are a dashboard special..

That's okay--they just wanted Charlie's first home game to be memorable.... come on boys..hold em....Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death amen Oh and let the Bills win tomorrow to...

One other note for Theisman haters...he holds the ND record for passing yards in a game at 526...Brady Quinn is at 431 net yards right now....Get Joe out of the record book

NC State is not a bad football team, in fact they have one of the more highly regarded D's in the country. It was a really good game..Tech was fortunate to get out of Raleigh with a win. Little Mexico is amazing....very quick to tuck and run and some extraordinary shiftiness...he will be an excellent returner in the NFL... As for the Irish--there's no quit in Charlie's team....

Thanks Lori. Your usual high standard of research and posting raises even further. And to think--we had 20+ Straight games without a safety interception..Milloy and Troy; the President (of the NFL PA) and his Counsel...weakness into a strength..

Anyway we can get the league to waive a rule?
JoeF replied to seq004's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll give you a rule they should waive if they are semi-serious about heat related illnesses and death...for days like tomorrow--95 degrees with a heat index in the 100's...let the entire 53 person roster (sans injuries) be active...no inactives....or if they are really serious--move game times based on the heat early in the season...but that would screw up TV and $'s... -
The Pats and the all important 12th through 18th man.

I would agree except this defense may undergo some massive changes next year...Edwards, Clements may be gone--depending on how we manage the cap--anyone of Milloy, Fletcher, Adams could be cut to save room. If we are just filling in a couple of missing parts I would be for promoting from within. If we are doing a major overhaul--I may look outside to get a name that will attract free agents. Anyway--all speculation right now. I hope we do well enough this year that Coach Gray is the #1 candidate on everyone's list. He deserves it and we deserve it. Seifert was a joke by the way...lame attempt at humor
-
LB Coach Don Blackmon has coordinator experience (was fired in Atlanta)...Dom Capers may be looking for a job at the end of the year. George Seifert may still be hanging out the airport waiting..he's an experienced D-coord.

Yes...I believe we could not challenge because we had just used our last timeout of the half....

AT Buffalo.... KC -- is a difficult place to win. As much as I doubt the Jets..getting one's ass kicked in KC is not always the sign of a crap team.

Players that stepped up today
JoeF replied to bills_fan_in_raleigh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
all those mentioned and Chris V for gutting it out in the first half.... -
Burris said the Bills training staff said he could return--not sure if he did.

Very concerned. But enjoying the win right now There were penalties on the three of the drives First Drive--Gandy had a hold on a screen pass to Willis that would have given us 2nd and 2 at the 8 The aforementioned false start on Bennie on the 4th drive on what would have been a 3rd and 2 at the 19--made it a 3rd and 7 We overcame the Teague false start it was on the TD drive. We will see JP be given a chance to make plays on roll outs with run/pass options more in the red zone as he gains more experience. We also need to cut out the false starts--on one of them the center had the wrong snap count--not unusual for the first game--but we need to get a little better concentration in the red zone.
-
Texans had 12 drive starts and on only 2 do they gain more than 15 yards net. Safetys 3 INT's Sacks 5 Chris Kelsay is going to be a star.... Willis--money with going over 100 JP--we saw a little bit more of the playbook today...there are a lot of tricks that Mularkey/Clements and Wyche are going to use. Mike Gandy--our Wal-Mart priced left tackle is pretty damn good.... We have one more win than the whole month of September last year....

It was Dorenbos all along...Jesus why did we keep that guy around so long... Dorenbos=This year's Bobby Shaw
