  1. Burris just reported that he is back on the sideline in full gear but will probably not go back in...if it was an achillies tear he wouldn't be on the sideline....Burris said he was walking gingerly...
  2. Glad you are okay dib--sorry about the dish. At least this one missed my mom and brother in Stuart/Jensen Beach--they had two eyes pass overhead last year...
  3. Butler overpaid both Ruben and Fina on their last contracts there is little doubt. Ruben made mental mistakes throughout his career that all-pro veterans shouldn't make--still he was an opinion leader on the team. This just is another piece of evidence that Williams never won the team over--he hired assistants out of desparation and kinship rather than competency; he treated players like kids the first training camp (bullhorns at 6 AM, other bull sh--); and he was Mr. Cliche with the media. Hopefully when he takes over the Redskins from Gibbs he will have learned a lot. Contrast that to what we have today..Mularkey is just as disciplined and dedicated as Williams but he has also: 1) Surrounded himself with a great staff--including Jerry Gray who even though he was a Williams guy seems to be adding to his reputation under Mularkey 2) Seemingly has the respect of the players--just by being honest and upfront and relying on them to perform or face the consequences. 3) Is now the clear leader of the franchise...TD is stepping back, Mularkey in this camp has assumed the "face of the franchise" role. It may not translate into wins on the field--but it is apparent we are better off now from a coaching and team unity perspective than we were under Greggggggggg
  4. I almost forgot that we are going to see Ruben Brown as an opponent tonight. The Chicago Sun Times article linked on the home page has this gem of a paragraph: Look beyond that, though, and you find that a slow burn caused by a strained three-year relationship with coach Gregg Williams, as well as difficulties with two assistants, greased the skids. Brown was held out of the final game of 2003 by Williams for reportedly showing up late for a meeting and going over a table after offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride. The two previous seasons, Brown didn't approve of offensive line coach Ronnie Vinklarek, a longtime Williams crony. Ruben is the player version on Buddy Ryan...that is awesome!!! I would have paid big money to see that scrap--with Gilbride ending up comatose on the floor...smug bastard that he was/still is.
  5. I can't bear to read the Andre Davis thread. I was wondering why a trade not involving the Bills got so much attention. I thought for a second that Andre Davis changed the world. God bless him. Give me a QB that can lead a team to 3 super bowl victories in 4 years...I don't care if he can throw a deep ball. We lost four in row, they won 3 of 4. It's fact...let our good buddies Hollywood, T-Bone (for those times when the Pats are his team and he is over his self aggrandizing theatrical TBD exits), etc...crow a little...they deserve it...we have the same amount or more numbskulls who will be doing the same thing on Pats boards when we win 3 of 4. That is if the Pats had a board like TBD--which their collective IQ's won't allow them to produce...thank God we have SDS aka Jimmy Neutron...
  6. Drew Bledsoe is a Texan now... Aussie seems like a really nice person..... So no not much... a .333 winning percentage on the road since franchise reinstatement is okay but not terrifying...
  7. Is your refrigerator running? Do you have Prince Albert in a can? Is Mike Hunt there? Can you page him for me?
  8. .....and where else can you get a torso workout like that. Look, he had briani for lunch....
  9. I honestly think it was becoming a blonde....had nothing to do with Belichek
  10. I'm melting....... or Humpty terrorist sat on wall, humpty terrorist had a great fall, all the coalition's horses and all the coalition's men, couldn't put humpty terrorist back together again...
  11. I asked, but Coach Mularkey wouldn't tell me the nature of your malady. I am thinking about writing a LAM column on the subject to display my utter disdain. At the risk of becoming overemotional...let me just say I hope that you are blessed with a steady handed surgeon, good pain killers, successful surgery and quick recovery... Coach McNally may need you on the line before this is over...can you catch??? TE is getting awful thin.
  12. Baked????--explain this concept to me please........fried, deep fried, deep deep fried and pork rinds is all I understand as now an adopted son of the Old North State...
  13. Tie for 6.....when chicken fried steak is the state dish--not a surprise...present company excluded of course..
  14. I will agree with you that if anyone can make Drew play above what he has shown the last 2 and a half years--Parcells is probably the coach to do it. This being said, if Drew leads them to a championship, Parcells deserves a special Nobel prize, Time man of the year, Sportsman of year, and maybe a grammy, emmy and people's choice award for resurrecting the dead....and changing the world...
  15. I am shocked that NC is not in the top 10....they eat a lot of hush puppies (not shoes--think fried dough for all you yankees) and ground pig down east. Its the hearty folks in the Mountains that keep us out of the top 10--I think we should assign them to Tennessee--move them down and us up...
  16. But 2 and a half more years of evidence of futility came with this version of Drew....at least TD had the sympathy factor from the Mo Lewis hit and the Steelers AFC championship game performance to lean on... Drew may quickly learn that Cowboy fans are just as critical as Bills fans with one big difference--a full gun rack in the back of the pick-up...
  17. Drew has well documented weaknesses that are easy to exploit--slow decision making/slow tracking through his progressions, lack of the intangible "feel for the rush", slow starter when he decides to run--his first two steps are really plodding..those are the key two steps when under a rush. The D can always send more people than the O can block with when a QB has these weaknesses--and with Drew--the vast majority of the time--he can not exploit any mismatches or one on one coverages sending more people creates. I was shocked after the '03 game against the Cowboys, when the Bills had the following sequence of drives in the second half, that Parcells would be interested: Buffalo Bills at 13:05, (1st play from scrimmage 13:00) 1-10-BUF 40 (13:00) 20-T. Henry right guard to BUF 40 for no gain (96-E.Ekuban). 2-10-BUF 40 (12:23) 11-D. Bledsoe pass to 80-E. Moulds to DAL 49 for 11 yards (31-R.Williams). Slant from right end. P11 1-10-DAL 49 (11:46) 20-T. Henry right guard to DAL 45 for 4 yards (59-D.Nguyen). 2-6-DAL 45 (11:10) 11-D. Bledsoe pass incomplete to 80-E. Moulds. Pass incomplete at the Dallas 37 right side; Newman almost intercepted the pass on the play. 3-6-DAL 45 (11:05) 11-D. Bledsoe pass to 82-J. Reed to DAL 43 for 2 yards (97-L.Glover). Quick out left sideline on the play. 4-4-DAL 43 (10:27) 8-B. Moorman punts 14 yards to DAL 29, Center-54-J. Dorenbos, downed by BUF-35-J. Burns. Buffalo Bills at 6:21 1-10-BUF 29 (6:21) 11-D. Return left end. 4 First downs in the second half---the last 4 drives --- 3 and out. Drew's line 17-34 for 85 yards passing...3 sacks, 2 fumbles... Coach Parcells is sniffing a bit too much of his own genius or is preoccupied by his man breasts if he thinks the promise land is anywhere in his future.
  18. Bill, this from the Buffalo News today (Allen Wilson story with Gandy in the headline) made me feel a little bit better. Gandy has every reason to keep playing well. He's getting a surprising push from second-year pro Jason Peters, a former tight end with great athletic ability and potential. Peters had an outstanding night against KGB and Green Bay's other defensive ends. BTW, lets have just a little faith in our lineman from Notre Dame....even though he played for Bob Davie--he might still be okay.
  19. Just finished a 14 play hurry up drive, with two or three penalties. Played with Alex Smith, 49ers rookie QB and top NFL draft pick, at U of U. RIP--
  20. its obvious...all retatta, all the time diet....
  21. I know it doesn't help now #89--but if he is a ticket broker, see if he will send you tickets (priority mail) for your friends to a future game without charging you shipping and at the same bid price. That would kind of make this right in my mind. After you get the future game tickets--give him positive feedback and describe how he rectified the situation. Sorry your friends won't get to see the game live.
  22. Your cat would be thinking --jeez I didn't know we mated with humans??? And look at the results--fugly sticks...mom--make him go away....
  23. Nice updated avatar young man. She had a chest cold, and you were just trying to help relieve congestion, right? Ahhhh to be young again......nice job...
