Kelly I agree for the most part. especially that the Bills were right to pass on him..JP has the better arm and the much better athletic ability..and it would be stupid to draft another 1st rd qb before the team really knows what it has with the last 1st round QB..One thing though, the 26 yarder to Fitzgerald at the end of the first half to set up a field goal was arm strength that Pennington has never shown. Leinart is going to be better than Pennington. I caught three drives..the first one which he looked lost and almost through an easy pick to a LB; the field goal drive in 55 seconds where he moved them about 50 yards with mostly dinks and dunks but he had the really good looking throw to Fitzgerald--who granted was wide open and then the TD drive...the Bears first team D was on the field for the FG drive and they were playing soft but they were sending 5 or 6 on every play and he made all the right reads and throws after one week in camp...Arizona is going to be very happy that he fell to them--and Brenda Warner is going to be back on talk shows after Kurt gets hurt and never gets back on the field.

Amazing he can write this with his head so far up TD's butt.......I like Tom Donahoe, I really do and believe he did some great things while he was President of the BIlls..but having his buddies at ESPN constantly pimp him is tiresome. The corollary to this is that it would be justifiable to saying that TD put a coaching staff in place that significantly retarded JP's development all for a 5-11 result.....not very !@#$ing smart...

We discussed this on the board a couple of weeks back when Tucker was traded from NE to the Browns. Kelly The Fair and Balanced Dog and Mad Buffalo Disease both reminded me that Tucker had a bad back that forced him to miss half the year last year anyway...the Tucker-Donahoe spat speculation came from Jerry Sullivan...but whether it was true or not it Tucker's presence wouldn't have impacted the line play due to his injury.

Joe Odom kind of looks like Kerry Collins--maybe your insider just mistook the picture ID when he/she checked it at the gate....honest mistake Frez. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the update Rock....no chance that you made a wrong turn and ended up in Albany watching RJ, Eli and Lorenzen is there? Or maybe some HS team in Rochester..... -

Coach Jauron announced tonight that Peerless will be fined for his oversight...in other news--Duke Preston got snaps at Center tonight and Coach Jauron said only 7 OL would be active on game day....all interesting stuff Monday night early update -

I disagree joe f -- its total reality --- I think Perry Fewell is going to spend hours game planning on how to stop Patrick Cobbs in week 1 and Fred Gibson in week 2.... -
Turn out the lights the party's over....God I loved that era of MNF....

JP doesn't like him...I heard it from a peeping squirrel at SJF...he observed them playing Madden one night -- it got ugly. Jauron had to do something...Peerless won't be seen or heard from again. -

How did I miss the post with the real excuse? Expect a call from Coach Jauron..."excuse me young lady--give us our WR back".. -

Well we do have "running in place" Josh Reed... Tyke Tolbert has been with some of these guys three years now and developed some talent during his time in AZ--I trust his judgement--if Parish and Aiken are ready to take the next step and Davis gives us the speed off the bench factor--cutting Peerless is not the worst thing in the world. -

Well--- He was either: 1) Attending to some family business or crisis--in that case I offer thoughts and prayers 2) Taking a long weekend--stewing about not being able to get open in a game anymore... 3) Cut yesterday 4) Searching for the dog that ate his practice schedule If it is number 3-- it will be interesting to see the real construct of the contract he signed...just how much of the bonus is tiered or is a roster bonus.... -
I really liked this series...hell its preseason with the scrubs on the field..we are looking for O-line depth...a little commitment to the run at the goal line even in a non-standard situation is just fine with me..the fourth down play was also a challenge to Nall's decision making as Kelly points out---could Nall read the D and use the option he thought would work--that told me more about him as a QB than a four yard TD pass or an incompletion to a TE or WR would have.. How long has it been since we saw three downs like this in a goal line series even in preseason... 2-3-CIN3 (1:35) F.Jackson right tackle to CIN 3 for no gain (D.Peko). 3-3-CIN3 (1:24) F.Jackson right guard to CIN 4 for -1 yards (D.Peko). CIN-R.Bauman was injured during the play. 4-4-CIN4 (:50) F.Jackson right guard for 4 yards, TOUCHDOWN. If Gibson was in the game--following a 370lb right guard is never really a bad decision...

Marv knew what he was doing all the time. We wouldn't have picked Kyle if we had gotten a 3rd or a 4th. -

On the chess board.....from Chris Brown's Blog LOSMAN-FOWLER BATTLE: Apparently there is one competition that Losman is losing right now and it's to center Melvin Fowler in chess. When asked about it last night Losman said. “Melvin Fowler was on the chess team at Maryland. His mom told me that and spilled the beans and I can’t compete with that. He gave me a little chess book to get better so I’m going to peek into that every once in a while and see if I can beat him.” Good to see him bonding in other ways with his o-line. Again maturity and recognizing the importance of that QB - O-line relationship. ______________________________________________________________ Okay-- our starting center was on the chess team at Maryland...hmmmmmm..I prefer to go the route that he is a deep thinker always one step a head of the competition...that's the way I prefer to think about this....

Full Article is up now..this is actually a little more definitive than I thought JP more than just the lead horse--he could be running away with this some snippets... "In terms of our quarterback situation J.P. is definitely the frontrunner at this point," said Jauron. "He will start the next game and he will get more of the reps in practice this week. It won't be 50-50 and then we'll see where it goes after this weekend." The former first-round draft pick took 43 reps to Holcomb's 12 snaps in the practice session from the first 7-on-7 drill to the end of practice. Losman took the last 19 reps in the session. Losman finished the session 21-28 with two touchdowns.
