Is anybody going to start a thread this week
JoeF replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My Sources Deep within OBD said Marv was working a deal to bring Travis back at the trade deadline but Coach Sherman nixed it. Marv said -- "I would rather be on TBD right here, right now to see Bill's reaction if we did this deal." -
Nothing about paying for drinks in first class or wayward peanut shells...very strange...
-
I heard Kareem Abdul Jabbar was on the plane as well...complaining about Bob Lanier....
-
Did you ask the Mile High Club question Ed?
-
Every QB since Kelly except Flutie....its just rewind the tape...Maybe JP will meet the criteria better than the rest--he's probably the most gifted athlete of the bunch...it would be nice...
-
Not trashing you Dr. K...but JP is JP -- there have been about 10 comparisons of the first few years stats to JP's, everyone from Aikman to Kelly to JP class peers to Bradshaw -- hell probably YA Tittle.... We can do all the stat comparison we want but if he: 1) Doesn't get time to throw 2) Doesn't learn how to avoid the sack and take the sack (safely without fumbling) at the proper time 3) Doesn't get more consistent with his reads 4) Isn't allowed to use his athleticism more (My only beef with Fairchild is that they are trying to make him a pocket passer but I understand they are trying to make him more disciplined) He won't develop as an NFL starter unless these things are addressed...this all based on JP and its all correctable but comparing him to others without assessing JP's unique talents and development opportunities and without comparing the talent around JP to the talent around these other QBs has some shaky validity. Again--not picking on you but the comparison threads are getting pretty funny...Jim Kelly's first 9 years in the league he went to 4 Super Bowls...

What did Larry really say? He acknowledged the fact that there was improvement in JP the first four games and that there has been a regression the last two. He used more dramatic language than I would have to describe this -- but its true...less decisive, less confidence. Larry's premise is if that regression continues -- that JP may be deemed as "not the future QB" of the bills. He provides a scorecard of 6 more games to make that evaluation. I prefer that the Bills give JP the entire season...but Larry's point of "seeing what they have in Nall" is at least worth a consideration if JP puts together more Chicago games (He improved a bit in Detroit--but against an inferior team). While the article is sensationalistic in some ways --it does hit the mark in one way--and we all know it--this is JP's trial year..he doesn't have to be brilliant but he has to show more progress than he has the last two weeks. Plus Larry Felser has forgotten more about football than I will ever know and he has strong contacts with the Bills all the way into the owner's suite...As VA said--even though this is a column rather than a by-lined story, Felser seldom writes science fiction--someone in a significant postion at OBD feels somewhat like this. Ramius--I agree with you on most things--but saying Brady Quinn is Overrated to the max is not one I agree with. Overrated in that he won't win the awards at the end of the season he was expected to -- I can live with that...but this kid has the arm, confidence, intelligence and mobility that is going to make some NFL team very happy......

Kiper says Samardzija drops to the 3rd or 4th round in the draft if he continues to play baseball.....not the best speed but wonderful hands, strength and balance....
-
What do you mean my names not on the list???
-
And that is how I won the conference high jump competition my senior year in High School.....
-
Clements for Peyton Manning might not be fair to you my friend (just kidding)
-
Sources deep within One Bills Drive say Mike Sherman is not going to do this deal ....
-
Did you ever see the movie Major League? I think the FIU and Miami players can now say they will play in the Florida Penal league next year...
-
What league did you play in last year Vaughn? Florida Penal....(okay so its California)
-
Was he watching the same brawl I saw??? It looked like Miami Alum "The Rock" was facing off against Stone Cold Steve Austin in a no DQ hard core match...in fact it was better than any of the WCW/WWE/ECW stuff....Vince McMahon should be signing these guys since they all likely just lost their college eligibilty...He can have them on in a over the rope battle royal on Monday night...bring back the Hulkster (or has he already done that???) You gotta love youtube by the way...
-
Nice...make both teams forfeit their next game and make the U ineligible for a Bowl Game...body slams, cleat kicking, kicks to the head...WWE..... Its just bull sh--.... How about showing just a smidgen of maturity and self control
-
In a related story, today scientists credited former Notre Dame and Packer great Paul Hornung (now pronounced Whore Hung) with the discovery of Jock Itch powder...thanks Golden Boy for your contributions to mankind.
-
Dolphin Fans are solidly behind starting Joey Harrington at QB for the forseeable future....TO will be pouting.....we have the Lions next week which is a whole lot better than having the Bears again...We have great film from which to teach some young players how to correct errors...every cloudy day has a silver lining.....
-
No way!!! Blow the whole thing up and start over again...new coaches, new players, new water boy, new fans...everything.... Anyone who didn't expect that there would be weeks like this during this season was being woefully unrealistic. A young team got its ass handed to it by arguably the best team in football. It may not happen but I would love to see a rematch in late January or early February of 08 or 09....We are on a path -- but it will take time...this was our worst game and it came against the best team--that's a formula for a 40-7 loss. Next up the Lions...learn from the train wreck but move on..
-
And belching for good measure....
-
Last night's game was a microcosm of his career....just about every big passing play in the 2nd half for the Eagles was against him. He just can't cover--his straight line speed might be good but his turn and read/recognition are awful.
-
That's why we respect you though--you won't stoop to being some cheap gimmick with a foolish hat and dance -- you keep your damn dignity.
-
Mangina OMG I just blew diet pepsi on the screen... ....I just flashed back the Seinfeld "Mansierre"/"Bro" episode...
-
Elvis would have given him a ride home....Jerry's always nice enough to leave him tickets.

Yeah well, everybody's a critic.
