  1. Hopefully we can see what he can do--I could be wrong but I think this is the first game he has been active... Inactives are: Naaman Roosevelt Johnny White Josh Nesbitt Sam Young Jarron Gilbert (new DT) Ruvell Martin Fendi Onobun
  2. Previous headline: Wizard of Oz munchkin cast member hired by Prince William County Schools...
  3. I think this season was more intriguing than the last two, but less easy to comprehend and definitely not core Dexter -- we went from John Lithgow's excellent portrayal of the psycho Arthur Mitchell to the brutal killing club that preyed on women. Both previous seasons provided an easy to hate villain and brutal, gory scenes that were easy to write to and engage the audience. This season was an exploration of how dark passengers haunt lives. Dexter explored others with a dark passengers including Arthur Mitchell's son having his father, Dexter having Harry and Ice Truck, Travis having Gellar (excellent job by Edward James Olmos) and his version of God. I found it ironic that that the character that defeated his dark passenger, Reverend Sam, was murdered by a representation of his turn away from murder and trying to help others. In likeability -- I agree it wasn't a season of core Dexter--there weren't the sharp episodes where a villain was ID'd and killed in 50 minutes that are enjoyable and immediately gratifying to the show's fans--but there was excellent acting by the cast of characters and the season's co-stars (Colin Hanks, Edward James Olmos) and it left plenty on the plate for next year. The religious themes were I believe less about religion and more about the dangers of too fervent a following of any dark passenger-- Dexter is the only person allowed to live and be consumed by his dark passenger and even he strayed this year. As far as the creepy Brother - Step Sister thing--the last scene explained it--Deb realizes she has a strong physical and emotional attraction to Dexter but now knows he is a killer -- just like other flawed relationships she had--she wants the perfect relationship but now is in love with another serial killer --- sucks for her--but the fans will watch to see what she does now...OH GOD! Or in Deb's words--!@#$, !@#$, Mother !@#$ing, !@#$...I love that girl's vocabulary..
  4. I think the Bills org is generally incompetent but how many teams would give a DIII running back a shot? He still will make millions of dollars and to state the organization has treated him like **** is not factual. I agree he deserves an extension but don't blame the Bills org...they discovered him, extended him and he just happened to blossom into a great player...he is now too old to pay him serious jack -- but we can reward him a bit with the expectation that there is continued good play. The contract should pay him good money next year through the guaranteed portion -- but be back end loaded for salary (like $9M of the $20M in salary the last two years)to mitigate the risk of age.
  5. Freddie and CJ are two radically different backs. CJ does not have the durability, yards after contact and broken field running skills of Fred. Fred cannot get to the corner they way CJ can and its a huge advantage to make teams defend the edge. They are a perfect pair we should exploit. Freddie will get a reasonable four year extension...tear up next year and give him $9M guaranteed on a $20M total deal. His age kills him from getting even a second tier running back (Below Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson) deal. If you combine this with what CJ is making its still less money than what the Vikings pay AP and the Titans pay Chris Johnson. The great thing about CJ is that his skills allow him to be on the field in the slot or out wide at the same time. If we run this offense right they can both get 15+ touches a game. I want to see us run the option with Brad Smith at QB and CJ and Freddie in the backfield maybe 5 times a game.
  6. Exclusive Footage from Sam Hurd's home in Chicago has just been located...Sam is interacting with two of his main lieutenants in this clip... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2T1GOCCaiWA

  10. Stevie in the Community This is a pretty cool program. Nice Job #13.
  11. ...all bowed and offered praise as on December 5 a Stadium Wall savior was born and they called him DC Tom.........
  12. The first 7 games of the season were a gift -- appreciate them for what they were. Rebuilding through the draft after years of mediocre at best and just plain bad top half of the draft picks is not going to be a one year process. No one will criticize an individual fan for abandoning ship after a dozen years of this crap or for being very critical-- but I choose to stay and cheer, be a pollyanna and be persecuted by fans of other teams. Its my penance for being a less than perfect (far less than perfect) human being. I am loyal to a far less than perfect football team. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
  13. Just saw the logo on the side of a carton of Coffee Rich....it was the special CJ Spiller edition
  14. Nothing compared to the mountain of informative posts and excellent moderation you provide on a consistent basis. The Syracuse article was better.
  15. Background of the yahoo article photo has a Dareus and a Spiller jersey -- just guessing.... ;-)
  16. No it wasn't through a divorce... Congrats Jay--if you frequent these boards -- awesome accomplishment.. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/upshot/man-loses-nearly-200-pounds-collects-bet-211826115.html
  17. So this cradle robbing rapist beat us by a combined 76 to 21 last year including a 38-14 win at the Ralph. This is a much tougher defensive challenge than it would appear. We are a different and better defense..and this is a game where Dareus, Barnett, Shepherd -- the new influx of talent needs to play very well.
  18. That hint of a smile is about as emotional as Chan gets in those pressers. I think your analysis is dead on...
  19. That's what he gets for going out with Gisele and Tommy boy. Gisele probably hasn't had that done to her in while....she just assumed it was wrong.
  20. Did Leslie have to go to the bathroom on the plane? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fU0WEx4lrQ0&feature=related
  21. Brett--- we were there live, I told my 9 year old son to watch Corey on the TD play...he says--"Dad, Corey is in motion away from the middle". I said keep watching...Corey pivots and crushes the DT--my son says--that's a team player...I said Corey is one of those players who makes the difference between winning and losing....Glad he is a Bill. Have great respect for him as a leader and a player.
  22. Congrats Fitz---
  23. I heard that....he also works his ass off...
  24. I know this has been discussed so many times...but after experiencing the game of a lifetime live, I wanted to add to the elation with a new thread. - Fitzy doesn't have the strongest arm, while he is sneaky fast he is not fleet a foot, he is not an Adonis physically -- but he has two things that make him not just good but a top 10 QB. 1) There a lot of QBs in the league who are considered great (Cutler, Vick, Romo) who are see and throw QBs -- Fitzy is a read and throw. He trusts these young receivers to read the same thing he is reading and to get to the spot. There was a NE Blitz in the third quarter where Fitzy threw to a spot about 20 yards downfield on the sideline to Jones about two strides before Jones made his break...Jones made the break--the ball was a little high so no catch--but it was classic read, intelligent QB--the kind of QBing you only get with intense knowledge of a system, film study of the opponent and being totally in synch with your WRs. All these guys Stevie, Chandler, Nelson, Jones--have wonderful football smarts -- they are in synch with their QB -- they will play their ass off for him because they know if they work hard in the film room and on the field -- they will have the chance to make plays. 2) Fitzy plays with passion--the girly scream aside -- he is focused on getting the most of every play and when it doesn't work -- he makes a tackle on an INT or when he is not directly involved -- he will throw a block on a Smith run. - Overall this team is built on smart players -- players who can study film--see trends--adapt on the fly on both sides of the ball. Jarius Byrd is a great example. He has made so many plays this year by recognizing formations and being in the right place to make a tackle that saves a huge play. Erik Pears gets great leverage on speed rushers and bull rushers because he studies and positions himself well...George Wilson learns how to gain inside position by studying.. It seemed like the "ball bounced our way" a few times more on Sunday--particularly on Scott's and Florence's interceptions--but I believe that those bounces are due to hard work Wednesday through Friday and not just luck. This is a smart football team who gets the most from under-publicized athletic ability. Nix, Whaley, Gailey are getting this right--a 4.3 40 doesn't mean much if you can't be in the right place at the right time--give me a 4.5 who works hard and is smart....if we keep on this path--we might have some fun in our future.... Sorry for the diatribe but still on a high from Sunday about 4:20 PM..
  25. We need to take it up a notch as fans to...--let's bring the A++++ fan game to the Ralph on Sunday. Let's not let the Pats get to sweet 16...be so loud Brady can't check at the line---
