  1. I'm taking the Chargers today! Because they deserve one, poor guys.
  2. How about a little humor for everybody: https://medium.com/sportspickle/blaine-gabbert-announces-he-will-kneel-for-national-anthem-due-to-oppression-of-bad-quarterbacks-4c57582edc09#.yksg24lso
  3. Pettine's scheme was quite similar to Rex. Makes sense that he would thrive in both. I was definitely expecting more from Robey last season, but whatever issues he had (along with the rest of the D) seems to have been improved. Glad to see him back to ballin'
  4. Yes! Our site is so clean. I love it.
  5. I have been kidding around with my friends about this too. It would be a hilarious twist to the story.
  6. I think he could be the perfect QB for Chip's offense. If he gets back to his physical form from a couple years ago, he could be excellent in that offense. However he is not so I still like our chances.
  7. Not sure what to expect from Kap. On the one hand he has a lot to prove, but he has also shown that he has lost confidence in his abilities.
  8. Absolutely. I've always kind of pulled for Kap as a Nevada alum, but this week I hope we wreck him.
  9. Blergh. I was going to keep disucssing this protest but I'm going against what I said before about derailing the thread.
  10. The difference is that what they are doing is defying an ideal or tradition, where you are attacking a person. It's your right to do so, but it's awfully small of you to call someone else a name because they treat the anthem differently than you do, especially if you don't even know who they are.
  11. I'm in the same boat. It's really nobody's business to judge how somebody treats the anthem, or prayer, or whatever else. Many people at home and at the stadium "disrespect" the flag and they just think it's a good time to pee. At first I really didn't think this was going to be a big deal until Kap kind of came out with the protest and made it a weekly thing. But of course, this is America we are talking about. Of course it was going to be a big deal.
  12. Namecalling and/or hoping to see him get hurt is not an acceptable form of protesting Kap, if that the intention. We have had plenty of folks step in and provide a peaceful rebuttal to Kap's stance and we have had some worthwhile discourse but some people are also missing the point entirely and being foul.
  13. You can take the Jaguar out of Jacksonville, but he'll always be a Jaguar.
  14. Haha, I used the mocks because they are indicative of the general sentiment among scouts and the media about players before the draft.
  15. Look man, nobody is trying to belittle your service to your country. He's literally stated that it's about injustice and you're refusing to take him at his word. He's not inciting violence or being crude. Do you really think those other options you've presented would be as effective in getting a message across to the entire country? The way he chose to do it has worked in the sense that a ton people are talking about it, his team has given money because of it, etc. The flag is a symbol. It means something different to everybody. For a large group of Americans, the flag means oppression and discrimination right now. You can be mad at them for feeling that way, or you can try to help them not feel that way.
  16. When Kap is on, he is tough to beat. He's been plenty accurate in the past. The past couple seasons have been bad for his confidence and it wasn't all his fault. Chip can certainly get the most out of his talents, if he's ready to go. I hope when Chip says he's not fully healthy that it isn't a false narrative for his riding the bench so far. If Kap is healthy and been doing is homework, they can be a tough team on Sunday.
  17. No surprise, but he'll be rusty.
  18. They can lose to the Jags and Browns and then beat Oakland, Cincy, Pitt and New England again. I don't care how they do it. They just need wins.
  19. Missed FG? Absolutely. The poor guy, drafted in the second.
  20. I don't know if that's true. They only had 3 draft picks in 2009 and 4 in 2010. Lots of wheeling and dealing going on there, but 2009 was noteworthy because of the Sanchez trade, and they also traded a few picks to go up for Shonn Greene in the third. I think the Jets at the time felt like their roster was ready for a serious run (and it turned out to be true). 2011 they started a run on DL in the first, but Mo was necessary because they lost Shaun Ellis. Coples was probably the wrong choice for them in 2012, but Richardson was a great choice in a year where they got the extra pick for Revis and drafted a guy to theoretically replace him. After that they went safety and tight end so I think that makes three DL/LB in six years. They did take a WR once - Stephen Hill, terrible choice - but drafting more skill position players may not have helped because of their main issue: The main issue for them was QB. Sanchez wasn't the same after the 2010 season. No confidence, no leadership, poor performance, etc. They failed to address that issue and it all fell apart.
  21. Mills has earned the starting RT job and it's his to lose.
  22. Agreed, I saw plenty of mocks with Shaq going before us, or to us. And I saw quite a few with Reggie going first round too, but not as high as #19 I don't think. I think all of the NFL.com analysts had him going to Green Bay at 27.
  23. I remember seeing a replay on TV and, to me, it looked like the snapper was clearly angled toward the guy who ran the ball. But maybe I'm just looking for tells. That and the ball carrier called for motion and everything too. I don't pay attention to that minutia during punts but I'd have to think the Bills were prepared for it knowing Fisher has attempted it several times before.
