yeah, and i'm sure they take their fair share of time off as well. they've worked to get there, got there, and that's what they earned. same thing here....you just need to accept it and stop getting so worked up about OTA's. it's laughable.

once again, in much simpler terms. if you had the choice to do something YOU wanted to do on your WEEKEND, but others felt you should show up on a saturday WITHOUT extra pay, and you didn't, what does that make you? It's freedom of choice. Also, let's take Steve again....he actually did these work shops on his saturdays last year and the year before.....THIS YEAR, he chooses to skip them. this is exactly what these players are doing. London Fletcher has a choice, just like he did last year and the year before...but you forget that because it doesn't fit your argument.

yes! and they all ran really fast! I wonder what Benny Hill's 40 time was? -
that's it. it's just entertainment for us, but it's still a job for them. how entertaining is it for me that a guy showed up for an OTA? not very. sure, i may be able to sleep a little better knowing Willis might learn a little more how to pick up a blitz. but then again, I have bigger things to worry about. another thing, we do share one thing in common with them. We must perform in our respective fields of work. If we don't we could be replaced by someone else. they know this as well as we do. Everyone is accountable for themselves. Let Wilis worry about missing OTA's because it is his a$$ that's on the line, not the fans a$$es. how about when a team has 100% or close to it, attendance for OTA's? seems like we had that a few times in the recent past, and it got the team where? and that's in a system they were at least familiar with and they still couldn't perfect their game enough. the camp and team practice with pads is going to give them the real benefit.
-
and because they miss VOLUNTARY OTA's they are showing no appreciation? If they miss MANDATORY practices without good reason, then I might say the same thing. and you'll continue watching them, paying to see them, being an NFL football fan... I hardly see how some players missing OTA's is going to keep you from being excited enough to continue being a fan. You may not like Willis and Troy's actions, but you'll still support them with your dollars like it or not.

yeah, when your team tries to replace you with Mike Williams, then cuts Mike Williams, that's a pretty good sign that you'll be gone.

if my favorite memory occured today, could it really be categorized as a memory? -
dude I love that avatar! Molly Hatchet. I did an oil painting of that album cover when I was 12. It was a masterpiece. just change your comment under it to "Coy Wire, i'm coming for you"

wow, talk about blowing it up into "Troy Vincent bitches about working too much" He's doing his job, not bitching about being overworked. Way to twist the guy's words. you guys are unreal. He's the Pres of the Players Union, he represents the union! THE UNION. If any one of you were in the NFL you'd love to have a mouthpiece like TV on your side. I read all the time "if I were a player, I'd be there at all the OTA's".... really??? lets see you have that attitude after you've played a few years. Especially when your union representatives fought for you and therefore succeeded in mandating that the OTA's be "voluntary". Until the union loses this battle (which it never will) the players have the right to skip them. So blast away, that's fine, quite frankly. But you can't say that you'd be at every OTA if you were a football player. You just don't know that you would. And for the one's that b*tch that they work all year long, well that's your own damn fault . every player in the league is there because they chose to make that their profession. They succeeded and now their enjoying the benefits. I work my a$$ off too, but I choose to, no one forces me to. I would like to think if I were fortunate enough to have made a living as a NFL player, I'd be there as well for the OTA's, but I'll be damned if anyone tells me I am SUPPOSED to be there. I see some even say they "hate Troy Vincent".....get real, you don't even know the guy. you guys need to lighten up.

wow, someone p!ssed in Max's Flutie Flakes this morning... here's a few options: 1) something like that evolutionary pic that shows the ape, knuckle draggers, cave man, erect man...you get the idea. Only make it stars of the Bills...Shaw or Cookie, followed by Joe D or Fergy, followed by Jimbo, followed by Hansen, then by Spikes or McGee 2) evolution of the helmet 3) Tom Olividotti 4) An Endzone shot of the fans 5) <<<<the emoticons! But Marv and his guns belong to my avatar, so that's off limits.

THE BILLS JUST SIGNED JOSHUA COOPER!!!!
mary owen replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
just how many "big name" guys are out there now? I doubt the team was thinking Joshua Cooper is the next Bruce Smith. Jeez, look around the league....there's a lot of "no namers" getting signed to other teams. most teams that built up did it with no names....they become names after they perform and prove themselves. -
The Bills outbid NE for Price...
mary owen replied to mary owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i see what you are saying and I remember what he was and what ATL thought he could be (which were two different things). But it wasn't like any other reciever became the beneficiary of PP's double teams. Crumpler became the main target, but that wasn't a result of PP's dbl team draws. It was more scheme related. I agree entirely with your Dallas assesment, but you'd think Bledsoe would have some chemistry with him. I also don't believe Dallas gave him enough opportunity to be a primary target. -
The Bills outbid NE for Price...
mary owen replied to mary owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
what's strange about PP is that he wasn't the same player he was here RIGHT AFTER he left. had me wondering if it was the system in ATL (Vick-ball). then he went to Dallas and the ying to his yang (Bledsoe) couldn't reconnect with him. just strange, because I could see if it was injuries or age, but he dropped off quickly....a year after he left Buffalo... i just think it's strange -
Paul, may you rest in peace and live long after your life.

The Bills outbid NE for Price...
mary owen replied to mary owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
well, i hope it turns out to be a steal considering we didn't re-sign him to the numbers he wanted before he left. I partly believe that PP is all about money. can't fault him for taking the better offer monetarily....but when you look at what he chose in coming back to the Bills, he chose to come to a team that is in no way the contender that the patriots are at this point. hard to believe he did it because he likes Buffalo. we'll have to see how he plays. -
A few months ago when teams were dumping veterans, the Patriots made a run at wide receiver Peerless Price -- another former excellent player who no longer played up to his contracts -- with the same typical offer as always. The offer to Price was the veteran minimum to play for a playoff team with Tom Brady throwing the ball to him and a chance to reinvent his career. David Givens had just left for the Titans and the opportunity was staring Price in the face. Hard to turn down. But the Buffalo Bills also had salary cap space and presented a better offer on the table. Price became a Bill and not a Patriot. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9482175 ok, those who b*tch that ML/RW are too cheap, does this make you just a little happy?

In defense of the Bills' draft
mary owen replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
JfH, that was Rick DeMulling. Another name comes to mind and that's Jonas Jennings. ok, so the jury may still be out on him because he was injured (bum shoulder and a hand injury), but I still think SF overpaid for him. I guess had the Bills given in to his ridiculous demands, we'd be a playoff team right now. -
