i'm not throwing Willis under the bus......i might throw his white, drug addict sister.... anywho, how can someone be excused from something that is voluntary? also, Jauron did say "We love Willis, but we'd love him more if he were here" or something to that affect. just clarifying. do I need satellite to catch the "Throw Willis Under the Bus" show?

My name will be a part of RWS & the Bills!

My name became part of the Bills when they signed Tutan Reyes.......(hint: my name is not Tutan) -
i think you need DirecTV to get it (NFL Sunday Ticket not required). I know this was the case a couple years ago.

Who do think is the best player to have ever
mary owen replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chef Jim is right. OJ was a slashing runner who's cutting ability left many victims laying in his tracks...... -
this doesn't only apply to Willis, because there others who did not show up either. for those who mention it, you are right....it is voluntary. But what's funny is that Willis showed up to the first VOLUNTARY off-season conditioning program and was saying in an interview that "This is a fresh start, it makes a difference when everyone is here because of the new staff and system" or somthing to that affect. He didn't get any credit for that. Anyone remember that? But on the flip side, he kinda looks like a hypocrate now. I think everyone would agree that they would love to see evidence of him dedicating himself to the team and the new regime.....as fans in the offseason, it's hard to guage anything because news is so sparse. a lot is speculation right now. When the real camps start, that's going to tell us a lot more than any OTA will. Look, I think with every team and every star player, you are going to see supporters and critics, each weighing in on what they feel should be used to measure a player's abilities and character. I just don't understand why everyone gets so testy when someone criticises Willis. Who cares? Willis certainly doesn't care, so why should you? state your argument and let other state theirs as well without getting so defensive about it.

I really didn't see any posts prior to yours in this thread that seemed like anyone was bitching too much and blaming the bills woes on Willis. Maybe you're commenting on other threads, i don't know. Nevertheless, I look at the whole Willis McGahee package thus far. He's a unique player in a very unique situation. Let's examine. -1st round draft choice, BUT would miss his 1st season rehabbing. -1st HC was lame duck. -2nd HC used him in almost every facet of offense, including gadget plays that actually worked! Result: Great stats, team almost made the playoffs, and Willis is given god-like status by Bills fans. -this same coach would then completely pull a 180 and NOT utilize this same RB enough. Result: stats below everyone's expectations, Rookie QB starts season, Offense was completely "offensive" in a 5-11 season, and Willis was rightfully criticized by Bills fans. (I say this because he need not be running his mouth while the team was playing so badly. That does not endear you to the fans, so he shouldn't be surprised by any criticism.) So, it's okay that fans get on Willis. He recieved great praise when the team was winning and performing well offensively. So now, its the other side of the coin. He (and his supporters) need to deal with the negative fan reaction. So you see, just as he is getting slammed now after the TEAM'S shortcomings in 2005, he equally benefitted from the TEAM's success in 2004. I don't think most of the criticism is crying for him to get out of Buffalo. He just needs to perform (and so does the rest of the offense) this year to improve these perceptions by the fans. crap....this was my 3000 post. I wanted it to be something more special than this....

Salisbury Steaks His Claim. Bills in trouble

you got that right. Jaws breaks down film and dissects every nuance of every offense and defense. That Edge NFL Matchup show would be great if he didn't have to sit there with Hodge.......and if it wasn't on ESPN2. I always thought he should be the analyst part of the commentating trio for MNF. He's a hyper mofo too.....real passionate about the X's and O's of professional football. -

I'm not sure anyone is saying that they know for a fact we will be better. But you seem to be saying that for sure they won't win at least 8. funny, how after 2004, many expected the Bills to challenge for the division, and those same people expected the Dolphins to have a very crappy rebuilding-type season. we all know how things ended up. you just never know.... -

when someone like Salsbury critiques the Bills, I feel pretty good about their chances. -
"Willis did say he was not a football fan, and doesn't really follow it." So THAT'S why he said he's the best.....he doesn't know his league peers!

all you do is give fake info. Yahoo! email accounts are free, so I make another account which I never plan on using. use that as the email, give them a made up name and address and that's all there is to it. In this case, the Sporting News didn't even require me to check the verification email that sites usually send.

why don't you all tell Vinny how you really feel. so far myself and Holcomb's Arm did.

Vic Carucci predicts that Nall will end up QB#1
mary owen replied to mary owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it's just a prediction. Regardless of how bad or good the line is, someone has to be QB1. -

well, for me it was a guy that made it possible for guys like Kelly, Thomas, and Reed to post such great numbers. Gotta give it to the guy(s) in the trenches. Kent Hull and Jim Ritcher were always my favorites on the O-line, the keystone to any great Offense. Defensively, had to be Bruce. -

mary owen replied to mary owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
we still don't know all that much about Nall. But my feeling is, based on the premature evaluations of his game, that he is the tweener guy, and that may end up benefitting him. More mobile than Holcomb, not as strong armed/quick to pull down and run as JP. It all depends on how Fairchild sets the offense up and who can adapt their game to it the quickest. I would suspect that the true competition is between JP and CN, but that they would love to have a vet like KH be the backup. So, there's two ways this could end up: QB1: Nall QB2: Holcomb QB3: JP or QB1: JP QB2: Holcomb QB3: Nall They can only plan to develop 1 QB for the "long term". The other QB will be on the outside looking in with his future undetermined. Holcomb should be the backup by default. -
•With the Sabres back in the playoffs for the first time in five years -- and inching ever closer to another shot at the Stanley Cup -- life on Western New York's sporting front has been far more entertaining than usual for the middle of May. I've been to a couple of games at HSBC Arena, but the most fun has been gathering with neighbors for rotating playoff game parties. The exceptionally mild spring weather has allowed for an inordinate number of early backyard barbecues, highlighted by the chance to watch the game with friends on a portable television set out on the patio. Buffalo fans are pretty good multi-taskers. Between periods, my neighbors ask for breakdowns of the Bills' draft and -- for the bazillionth time -- how their quarterback situation will shake out. Early prediction: Newcomer Craig Nall ends up getting the nod over J.P. Losman and Kelly Holcomb. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9441343

don't bother me with facts seriously, I think they will surprise for the very reason you bring up. with the Cokeboys, Giants, and the Skins all looking over their shoulders at each other, no one expects much from the Eagles. I also looked at the schedule. Philly's schedule for the 1st ten games look like pie compared to the other three. They can lead the division by mid November. Then it's all a dog fight. But I think the ease of the first half of their season will give them the advantage. They do however have a brutal stretch from week 12 through 16, but finish at home against an overrated Falcons team. call it a gut, but I can see it happening. -

ha! I feel the same way. but I was over on NFL.com just to see if they were sucking up to Tuna and Co....and sure enough they were! this was the the pic that was up and above it it said "The Look of a Champion" http://images2.nfl.com/photos/img9444783.jpg Let's hope they are the Ottowa Senators of the NFL this year. (keep clicking on the "next cover story" arrow, but don't do it if you're eating) http://www.nfl.com/ -
well, this rookie class has Marv's stamp of approval on it was well. Seriously, they mention "character" a lot but Marv looks for those who are smarter and are "students of the game". In almost every write up I've seen of Whitner, his preparation and film study is highly praised. Let's hope it's just not lip service when it comes to the group as a whole.

everyone and their brother (well, the "experts", that is) is expecting Dallas to win it all....they love the Tuna and of coarse now that they have TO, the expectations are even higher.
