Ravens SHOULD seek trade with Buffalo
The Dean replied to sllib olaffub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's the thing. The Bills DON'T WANT Gaither. If they did, they could have him for a draft choice and wouldn't need to part with a valuable player. -
The Pats organization is pure scum. They cheat without a second thought and they treat their players poorly. Since they are successful, this is overlooked and even respected by some. But don't for a minute believe they are successful BECAUSE they are scum (although the cheating helped), they just happen to have very smart football personnel in the FO and a great HC. But you don't have to be douchebags to be successful. just like you don't have to be a personality-less automaton to be an excellent NFL HC.

Conversation. Drugs. Sex. Food. (Not necessarily in that order, of course.) I have played plenty of drinking games in my life, mostly when I was much younger. Next month I will probably shoot a can (or several) of beer on a Canadian beach. And there is no question I will have a drink in my hands from morning until early morning the next day. Cocktail Muckers will be played. So I am not against drinking, by any means. Most drinking games are stupid. Of course they are. But that's OK, I don't really have a problem with a little stupid, from time to time and in the right context. But most of these stupid drinking games evolved out of something. I imagine beer pong came from guys drinking and playing ping pong. One thing led to another and a new drinking game was invented. We (my group of friends) invented our own drinking/smoking games from time to time. The problem with Icing isn't simply that it is stupid. It is beyond ridiculous. It is forced. It is manufactured and it is branded. It is totally gay. (Get on your knees and drink this whitish liquid because I said so. Real interesting game.) And let me make one final point while I am up here on the soapbox. When I hear of people who are into serious bondage, bizarre role-playing (I'm a goat and you are the Prime Minister of Great Britain..") I think they really must never have had really good sex if they need to go to all that work to enjoy it. I wonder about people who HAVE to engage in these drinking games every time they party to enjoy themselves or as you say "to pass the time". (I don't mean this personally as I don't know you, it's just a general statement.) Maybe it's time to develop some conversational skills and/or personality or find some more interesting friends to party with. Just IMO, of course.

I completely agree.

RIP BiB. We miss you, ya bastard.

While I'm no beer pong fan, it is a totally different thing, IMO. First of all, I assume it developed organically, not the "brain child" of a marketing exec. And, as far as I know, you choose to play beer pong, someone doesn't "pong" you. Finally, I have never seen beer pong require drinking a particular branded beverage. You can pretty much use any beer to play. Beer pong is a stupid frat drinking game. Icing is just gay.

Not whole pieces, either. Mostly bits. EDIT: Is "whole piece" an oxymoron? I know I'm a moron, so no need to point that out. -

I trust you are both joking. If someone approached me with this Zima substitute and expected me to drink it, or worse have one somewhere on my person, I would smack the bottle out their hand. "Bra, you have to drink it. You got ICED!" No, you freakin moron, I don't have to drink it. Game over!

For the record, it doesn't look as though the Chuy's in Van Horn is part of the Chuy's chain, but rather an independent family owned restaurant. It is not listed as a location on the Chuy's (chain) site: http://www.chuys.com/#/home Chuy's in Van Horn has been in business since 1959. It also seems the founder/owner of the Van Horn Chuy's just died (the family will continue to run the restaurant): http://www.vanhornadvocate.com/story184.shtml So, my recommendation to visit this Van Horn institution stands. If, of course, you are anywhere near Van Horn. I wouldn't go way out of the way to go there. I think Chuy's is a pretty common name for Mex restaurants. I went to a Chuy's in SoCal a couple times. Don't remember the food, but I do remember getting fairly trashed there. -
Levi Brown? The baddest dude in the whole damn town. Man I hate the offseason.

I'm Tired of hearing about the JETS
The Dean replied to Stussy109's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I can think of at least ONE reason. There were/are other very good teams in the league, too. And some teams simply match up better with certain teams and some teams peak at different times. I won't dispute the notion that coaching plays/played a big part, as well. -

Greatest Players w/o championship...
The Dean replied to judman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are a few that are questionable, IMO. Not that Kwan wasn't great, but I agree with your assessment. They were probably trying to include more sports in the article. I'd exclude anyone still playing, actually. Even if you didn't go that far, including the 24 year old Ovechkin is really stupid, IMO. -

I know that is the name of a chain, but is the Van Horn restaurant part of that chain? If so, then I agree it is probably best avoided. It certainly wasn't a chain when I was there. And I can't say how good the food was, overall. But what I had was terrific. -
Albums You Didn't Realize Were as Good as they Are
The Dean replied to ajzepp's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Back in the day, my favorite live albums were The Band's "Rock of Ages", Allman Brothers "At Fillmore East" and Roy Buchanan's "Live Stock". While I've never been a big Who fan, Live at Leeds was terrific, too. So was Van Morrison "Too Late to Stop Now". My biggest issue with many live albums is the horrible recording. Live album recording is getting better, IMO. So that's good news. There is some great Jazz that is recorded live, in a studio or controlled venue. That's fantastic, IMO. Still there are some bands that really excel live, but it doesn't come across when they are recorded. EDIT: Also some live albums are sweetened and over-dubbed just like studio albums. The word "Live" on an album doesn't guarantee it is a genuine recording of the band's performance. -

Didn't Joe Montana win a superbowl

Furthermore, how often do you remember Montana "checking down" and throwing to a receiver with 15 yards of open space to gain? My memories of Trent is his eschewing an open receiver to thrown a three yard comeback on a 3rd and 5. Montana also trusted his WRs to make plays and threw the ball BEFORE they were open. Sometimes I think Trent needs to see some large separation before he even considers throwing. It's clear Montana had a near perfect situation for which to show all his skills. Trent has not had that opportunity. If Chan can get Trent to show all those skills, I give him a chance to succeed. (I'm not betting on him, but I'll be happy to lose that bet.) But let's pretend they are similar QBs in any meaningful way. -
Well, sure. There's that.
