  1. Re-signs or resigns? They mean two VERY different things.
  2. Yes, he does a lot of good philanthropic work, to be sure. He manages to come off as insufferable and self-involved while doing it. But at least he does it. Maybe if he took off the stupid sun glasses he'd seem more genuine.
  3. What's the upside for the NFL? Why would they participate? Why would the NFL players give a damn? I think the worst NFL team could absolute crush the best college team in the country 90 out of 100 times, maybe more. But unless they completely embarrass the college team, they still don't win in the public's eye. I could see the NFL team sitting starters and mildly injured players and having the scrubs not even give much of a crap. So in that case the NFL team wins in a close game or possibly even loses...a disaster for the NFL. So why play a game where there is no upside for the likely winner?
  4. The only surprise for me, too.
  5. Dude. That really blows. Sorry to hear the bad news.
  6. Well, clearly this thread has gone the way of so many others. It reminds me a bit of the Beautiful Women thread that simply became "Post any picture of any woman" thread (mostly thanks to Rfeynman's poor taste, or course). I think this thread had a pretty solid foundation, and I use the immediate responses as evidence. The OP suggested U2 was the most overrated band of all time. He rightly (IMO) claimed "they get treated like royalty". Now the thread has turned into "artists you don't like" and/or "defending the artists that have been named by others" (a rather natural progression, as Chef has already pointed out). I'd like to, for a moment, return to the roots of this thread. Even if you don't dislike U2 (and even if you think they are a good band), do you really believe they aren't overrated? Do you honestly think they are "the best band in the world", as Bono has so humbly asserted? (I believe he said they were "Reapplying to be the best band in the world", but that's not how it gets used and reported...further evidence of the overrating.) Best band in the world? Really? I guess some are convinced Bono's constant preening, on and off stage, and the band's willingness to pander to their audiences has earned them some very high seat at the world's musical alter. To me, they are the very epitome of "overrated".
  7. Bad sauce in a hurry!
  8. Same here. Plus I'm just not a big fan of their stuff. But they are good musicians and if I could tolerate Lee's vocals I might come around on the songs.
  9. I think we may simply be having a semantic disagreement here. "Cash to cap", according to the way I understand it, is simply an internal accounting practice. It isn't necessarily a method to spend less money, or to spend less than what they receive from the NFL. So, I suppose you can say that the Bills are operating on an internal cash-to-cap, even though there is no NFL cap by simply replacing the word "cap" with "the team's cut from the league's TV contract, etc" which is roughly equivalent to the yearly cap anyway. I'll buy that.
  10. OK, so what you were really trying to say in that initial post on this issue is: "When returning to a thread that I initially started..." That might have bypassed some of the confusion. With that said, I still can't see why that would cause you issues, but if it's an issue for you then it is.
  11. Not in Florida, to the best of my knowledge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everclear_%28alcohol%29 Excerpt:
  12. 1. There is no cap this year, so "cash to cap" is basically a meaningless phrase right now. 2. When there was a cap, you will note that many teams, some VERY successful, also operated in a similar "cash to cap" system. 3. When there was a cap, the Bills didn't completely refrain from signing FAs. In fact, many here based the old regime for overpaying for "other teams trash". 4. FAs get to pick what team they sign with. You can't simply order them to play for the Bills. Older vets tend to want to go to already successful teams, teams right on the brink and/or warm weather teams. Yes, I suppose Ralph could overspend on these marginal players to get them to Buffalo, but then aren't they really overpaying for other teams trash? So, bottom line, cash to cap isn't the issue here and probably wasn't the issue when there was a cap. What you are really trying to say, in many threads in the same clumsy way is, "Ralph is cheap so the Bills suck." Well, perhaps there is some truth in that. But instead of simply grousing and sounding like you don't have a clue, why not suggest SPECIFIC players who are available and represent an upgrade at their positions? I believe the target positions should be OT and OLB (and perhaps TE) at this point of the process, but you may have other ideas. Keep in mind the Bills are rebuilding and are probably concentrating on getting their younger players experience, but there might be room for the right vet at the right position.
  13. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/871/postor.jpg Here's what I see when I start a new thread.
  14. "Are record"? Seriously?
  15. I'm still confused. When I'm on the forum reading (the forum topics, or inside a thread) there is a "Go" button on the bottom right hand of the page. And to the left of that Go button there is a drop down menu that helps with board navigation, but to use that you have to hit click the down arrow, and then click on the forum you want to visit. Is this what you are talking about? If so, I have to admit to not having a problem here. When posting (either a new thread or a reply like this) I don't see any Go button at the bottom right side of the page, nor do I have any idea what a Topic Moderation drop down is. Are you a moderator somewhere? Maybe you have options most of us do not. Or are you using a different skin (I use Two Bills Drive 3.1)?
  16. Perhaps it is simply a by-product of where I live. Before moving to FL, I just assumed he was the luckiest bum in the world who became popular because he was banging Pam Anderson. But not I find out he is held in high regard by many. A "real talent" they say. The pretty good band I saw tonight at a local bar didn't play Sweet Home Alabama, they played KR's tribute to the song. A song that is interesting (if you find it in anyway interesting) because it is a variation of Sweet Home Alabama. Will there be another single in a few years that is a tribute to "All Summer Long"? I doubt it. A local musician I had some respect for at one time, tells me Kid Rock is a great talent and has a terrific voice. Really?
  17. I have to say, I had no idea what you were talking about when I saw this earlier today. Now I'm looking around to try to make sense of it, and still have no idea what you are talking about.
  18. Fairly predictable cuts. Sorry Brohm haters. J Bell might be among the most surprising to me. But he didn't look as good in the last two games as he did in the first two, and I'm guessing they are hoping he makes the PS. I hope he does, but won't be surprised if he doesn't. Lankster is no surprise to me at all. Foschi a bit of a surprise if you use his preseason performance only. I'm guessing they have more film on him and think he underperformed in preseason.
  19. Just thinking how can a thread of overrated bands/artists be complete with the mention of Kid Rock? Sensuously, Kid Rock?
  20. Go ahead play with the ball. Give it a click. http://www.google.com/ Goodnight everybody.
  21. Denver still has Knowshon so probably doesn't need to trade anything of value. They'll just pick up someone after the cuts. Remember White was cut from Seattle.
  22. Well KISS certainly sucks. But don't most know they are a make-up bulls#it band? I know few who take them too seriously.
  23. Rumor has it Burnt Sienna accused Ben of shoving Hot Magenta up his ass.
  24. Nothing that extravagant tonight (though it would be nice) I have a Tamas Estates Double Decker Red, from Cali's Central Coast. Cabernet blended with two of my favorite varietals, Petite Sirah and Barbera. Nice Italian style red. Quite tasty and a steal at around $7-$8 at the local shop: https://shop.tamasestates.com/SHOP.AMS?LEVEL=BOT&PART=I157-08
  25. I'd say $20/hour might help teach him some values and a little humility. Make him work PR with kids and pets for a year for $30K. THAT would be the right way to do it, IMO.
