Fact Checker Analysis Ted Cruz’s claim that two-thirds of the Hurricane Sandy bill ‘had nothing to do with Sandy’ The help for Sandy came in two parts — an uncontroversial vote in late 2012 for a $9.7 billion increase in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s borrowing power for flood relief, and then a $50.5 billion package that was approved in January 2013, without the votes of Texas Republicans (or many Republicans). Many Republicans said that the emergency spending should have been offset by cuts elsewhere. House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), at the time chairman of the Budget Committee, was one arguing the money needed to be offset. “This legislative abuse is an insult to families facing real emergencies in the wake of the storm,” he declared. So was the $50 billion bill filled with pork — two-thirds of which was unrelated to Sandy? No. The Congressional Research Service issued a comprehensive report on the provisions, and it’s clear that virtually all of it was related to the damage caused by Sandy. There may have been some pork in an earlier Senate version, but many of those items were removed before final passage. There were also some items that appear to have been misunderstood. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2017/08/29/ted-cruzs-claim-that-two-thirds-of-the-hurricane-sandy-bill-had-nothing-to-do-with-sandy/

NYS Government (you can't make this stuff up)

If natural gas becomes scarce in the future, the fracking gas in NY will be worth a fortune. Maybe then can be done safer then now. -
Are we ramping up to war with North Korea?

The U.S. population would have to be temporary refugees around the world till the grid is repaired. As long as most of the U.S. ballistic missile subs survive , pay back will be a beach . That goes for China and Russia , as long as NATO stays with us. -

The EMP threat should justify severe trade sanctions against China. A preemptive strike , China said would be war with U.S. I really think China is saying one thing in public but giving N Korea the go ahead in private jmo Not to worry, those of us here on the Canada border will join our best friends there. Amiright row_33 ? If that missile were off target and affected Canada , every single Canadian would be welcome here . Right after N Korea disappears from the face of the earth -

I would think only to retire a Bill and be at the opener. He would make a good RB coach , especially pass protection, ask JJ Watt -

Week 1: Jets' Game Preparation - Inactives Announced
ALF replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hopefully keeping Taylor in the pocket on timing passes was just a experiment that failed. That is not what he is good with. If last years OL is back and healthy plus Dawkins as a backup they should be good with a much better D. Henderson will be back in week 6 and may be better at RT if healthy. Maybe Dawkins could be a blocking TE position. -

Millions of American lives could be at stake as North Korea threatens to attack power grid North Korea may very well have the ability to kill millions of Americans, without directly firing on U.S. soil. For the first time, the pariah country’s state news agency warned it could hit the U.S. with an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) onslaught, a threat that experts contend is both very real and comes with catastrophic consequences. So how could North Korea pull off an EMP attack? A hydrogen bomb detonated at a high altitude would create an electromagnetic pulse that would knock out key infrastructure – namely prominent parts of the U.S. electrical grid. The higher the bomb’s detonation, the wider the range of destruction. An altitude of just under 250 miles – around the orbit of the International Space Station – would annihilate electronics in majority of the mainland, including parts of neighboring Canada and Mexico, analysts have said. North Korea exhibited its capacity to reach such altitudes in satellite launches in both 2012 and 2016. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/09/05/millions-american-lives-could-be-at-stake-as-north-korea-threatens-to-attack-power-grid.html -

I guess the Bills would have to settle for drafting a franchise QB then, I would hope. -

That's all good with me . I'll be patient during this process. The problem I have is with Castillo . Taylor was always durable till the OL was screwed up. Dawkins should have played while Glenn was out, Miller at RG and Mills RT. I especially don't want to see a good prospect Peterman injured. Watching McCoy run 6 carries for 7 yds against Ravens , come on man. I would have fired Castillo already. -
This was one guess “Typically with these plywood and particleboard materials … before assembly they’re put in ovens that heat them to 130 degrees,” she said. “This sets and bakes off the formaldehyde in the glues and resins. ... I’m not sure that happened in this case because the trailers were made so fast.” http://www.nbcnews.com/id/14011193/ns/us_news-katrina_the_long_road_back/t/are-fema-trailers-toxic-tin-cans/

I give Bush a lot of credit for trying to help with those trailers. The shoddy manufactures should have been put in prison not just fined. Then again some people now think Obama was president during Katrina but was too busy golfing.
-
Jan. 1, 2010, a court injunction banning the sale of the trailers expired, and FEMA handed them off to the General Services Administration (GSA) to auction them off, for about 7 percent what FEMA had originally paid for them. The GSA made buyers sign an agreement promising not to sell them as housing, and it slapped stickers on them saying that they were not to be used for human habitation — just storage or recreation. http://grist.org/politics/people-are-still-living-in-femas-toxic-katrina-trailers-and-they-likely-have-no-idea/

CDC tests confirm FEMA trailers are toxic (Katrina) In addition to causing respiratory ailments, formaldehyde is considered a human carcinogen, or cancer-causing substance, by the International Agency for Research on Cancer and a probable human carcinogen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/23168160/ns/us_news-life/t/cdc-tests-confirm-fema-trailers-are-toxic/

I will be holding my breath watching the Bill's OL against a good Jets D When McCoy last ran 6 carries for 7 yds , Taylor and Yates injured , I was ready to fire Castillo -
Maybe bandit can make sense of which players are a fit where in Castillo's system, I have no idea. Taylor is a decent guy I hated to see get injured. Would hate to see that happen to Peterman also. They need to have it together against a good Jets D

Banyard had 95 yds rushing in 4 seasons http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/7813/joe-banyard J Will had 94 yds rushing last season I don't understand replacing him with a older player
-
So far I would not trade up for him . The season is young , and college QBs are very hard to judge how they will do in NFL. I'm shocked how good Peterman looks so far for a 5th rd pick. I hate the spread offense in college , no way to judge NFL potential.
-
I like Whaley , he gave his HCs the players that fit there system. He was good at finding veteran players who fit better here. Here in Buffalo changing HCs and schemes no way he could succeed .

It's easy to support pro bowl superstars. Some of us fans root for the underdog who is a very hard worker , good person . Believe it or not, Kurt Warner could’ve been that guy bagging your groceries. Yes, that’s right, I’m talking about the same guy who is a former NFL MVP quarterback and holds numerous records as one of the greatest playoff performers in NFL history. Warner worked the $5.50 per hour job back in 1994 after being cut as the Green Bay Packers’ fourth-string quarterback. It looked hopeless for the struggling signal-caller, and it seemed impossible that he would one day lead “The Greatest Show on Turf.” But it didn’t end in that grocery store in Iowa. Instead, Warner kept working to achieve his ultimate goal of being a starting NFL quarterback. There were two things Warner never gave up on: his faith and his skills. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1190204-kurt-warners-grocery-store-checker-to-nfl-mvp-story-a-tale-of-perseverance
