If you think we are a Super Bowl team like the Panthers were then you are in for a surprise. Our offense has looked horrendous thus far. If they didn't change the offense on us we might have had a shot at the playoffs but as it is now we are starting from scratch on both sides of the ball. It's going to be a long year

preseason should be done now. we have seen what we need to see after 2 games. they dont need a preseason at any other level so why is it so long in the NFL? 2 games and 1 scrimmage is all they need and even that's probably too much. either add 2 games to the regular season or add an extra wildcard game to the playoffs

Because they kept most of the same coaches including the entire defense. We change schemes every 2 years from 3-4 to 4-3 and have to get different players on defense and then learn the new plays. They only changed the offense. But don't get too excited, the Dolphins stink too. Do you really aspire to be the Dolphins? That's depressing!!

i think the backlash from fans would make it not worth it even if they think it makes football sense to get out of that big contract. i wonder if Beane has to go to ownership first before making such a move in which case they might veto it. i think some if not most people could get on board with like a 2nd round pick and a player like they did with Sammy.

i think it's more about rebuilding with young cheap players. McBeane wants a bunch of good players on their rookie deals that fit the system, not older expensive guys that aren't "their guy"

McBeane is building a team to compete in 2-3 years. a high paid 32 year old Shady is not part of their plans. it does make sense to cut ties now and get something rather than cutting him later on down the road

this is definitely not a tank but you better believe that a new GM and a new coach with all new positional coaches will want "their" guys and we are in a rebuild until our roster has those guys. Rex was overconfident in thinking his scheme was the end all be all and it didn't matter that he didn't have the correct personnel to run it because the scheme is more important than the players which is completely idiotic! the players make the plays and once you are out there it's all instinct. so this isn't a tank. call it a "rebuild" or "re-tooling" or whatever you want to call it. but it will take a few years to get the right players so hopefully they give McBeane enough time to finish their "process"

they heard the Jets were tanking and the Bills had 2 firsts and they decided they would rather make $0 and go to classes every day than have to be in the afc east basement! hopefully the Bills don't just draft someone for the sake of drafting someone like what they did with EJ. if they take someone they better believe in that person whole heartedly. otherwise wait another year and get the right guy!
