It's a big thing because the country is widely divided based on his comments not his protest. A large portion of the country do not believe cops are murdering people, and that they are a force for good. So naturally when someone comes out and says "I can't be proud of this country because it oppresses black people, and that there are bodies in the street, and (officers) are getting paid leave and getting away with murder" there will be a backlash of "wtf are you talking about?"

Yeah, I don't quite understand this. I saw a few "you're racist" reactions to people criticizing the point Kaepernick was trying to make. They were pretty much telling people that you can't tell him how to protest, and if you feel he is misrepresenting the situation between police and minorities, then you must be racist and trying to silence him. It's lovely how that works. Be silent or you are racist.

Very good point. The other argument that doesn't make sense is that we have to go in another direction to get the ideal "pocket passer" so we can be the Patriots, Packers, or Falcons (who knew). We don't have that pocket passer, and there isn't one in free agency. So that isn't an option, so stop arguing for it and trust Whaley to keep his options open while keeping the team competitive.

I don't think you can look at a 4-5 game stretch to determine a QB's value. Otherwise, Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, and Russell Wilson are on the level of Blaine Gabbert as well.
