  1. Buckner was one of my all-time favorites. Wild statistic: he never struck out three times in a game. To put that in perspective Tony Gwynn did it once, Ichiro 22 times, and Adam Dunn did it 179 times (all-time leader).
  2. Not a perfect fit, but I couldn’t find a more appropriate thread, and didn’t think this deserved it’s own: They aren't even trying to hide who they are anymore.
  3. May God bless you in your work. Not “look bad”. Actually be bad.
  4. Hello! It’s been a while, and I hope things are well. Can you think of any reasons why this might be a terrible idea? Listen, Daenerys...
  5. If you do a bit of research, it’s amazing to how many men the cement forms anchoring these bridges are tombs.
  6. May God bless her family and friends, and bring them comfort in their time of mourning. RIP, Sue.
  7. What I claim are verifiable facts. And no, I don’t think charges of treason are too harsh for members of our government whom have committed treason.
  8. No, it’s not noteworthy. Corruption happens within the Freedom Caucus as well. Two months ago Amash officially opined that the Mueller report contained no evidence of collusion, conspiracy, or obstruction and that there were no grounds to impeach. Then, a few days ago, after his own China ties were exposed and the Administration’s policy towards China began to tighten the screws on him, he reversed course and made the argument that: Trump may have committed crimes that no one is aware of (including himself), and that a crime doesn’t need to have been committed to impeach the President anyway. It’s literally an argument that Chinese businesses interests (IE the Chinese government) should have a say in our impeachment process. Amash is going to burn along with DiFi.
  9. Inconvenience is not a justifiable excuse to kill a human being. Again, it is not the proper role of government to absolve parents of their responsibility to provide and care for their children. The proper role of government is to provide and enforce law which protects the rights of the individuals it proposes to govern. Amongst these the right to life is tantamount.
  10. No, Carlin is obfuscating here. The philosophy is this: The proper role of government, its primary purpose in fact, is to protect the rights of the individuals it proposes to govern by establishing and enforcing law to those ends. Necessarily primary amongst those rights, the right to life. Conversely it is most certainly not the proper role of government to absolve individuals of their absolute responsibility to provide for their children. Edit: also important to note that the overwhelming amount of resources directed at support for single mothers, early child care, and adoption placement comes from pro-life groups.

  13. No, Bob. The problem isn’t with investigating Logan Act violations, or conspiracy crimes. We should, in fact, must do those things. The problem is when a person, or group of persons, fraudulently and criminally concocts an investigation into conspiracy crimes they themselves know don’t exist because they made them up from whole cloth in order to frame a political opponent as part of a soft coup attempt. These things are very different.
  14. CNN would like to have you believe that “apolitical” and “unwillingness to investigate criminal wrongdoing by Democrats” are synonyms. They aren’t.

  16. I fail to see why any of this should be the burden of an employer. Further, would those working in the gig economy be better off or worse off if their job didn’t exist?
  17. Because they won’t get off my damn lawn! She cooked the ***** out of the meatloaf!!! What was I supposed to do?!?!?!
  18. She’s not even going to be primaried. She’s the Senior Senator from Massachusetts, a state which treats it’s elected Democratic Congresspeople like lords over fiefdoms since 1931.

  20. I heard it for the first time approximately 15 years ago at an industry conference from a speaker who had been in think tank where it was broached. The context was that there was, at the time, roughly 19 trillion dollars in tax deferred qualified plans, and that its seizure, with the attached promise to provide secure annuities to all US residents in exchange, was the silver bullet to resolve our national debt crisis.
  21. It’s not about what is good for you. It’s a class warfare issue designed to appeal to the 70+ percent of Americans who have not/are not planning adequately for retirement to bolster their own receipts at your expense, and satisfy the national debt in a manner which has no negative impacts to them.
  22. They’ve been talking about this for about 15 years.
  23. I really don’t think it is, James.
