Whaley waited to bring KO on board until August, basically insuring EJ would get the first handful of games as starter no matter how terrible he was. There's a real argument to be made that if we sign Orton sooner, he starts sooner or right out of the gate and we make the postseason in 2014. All the rest is just Whaley propaganda. "He didn't draft EJ because Nix was GM, but he got Kiko who turned into McCoy!" "Nix was still GM when Hughes was acquired, but that was all Doug!" "He didn't want any of the guys who sucked, that was Rex!" Who is demanding a Hall of Fame level QB? Oh, right. Nobody.

It doesn't make it weird because Whaley didn't see the light in regards EJ, Marrone did. I would bet just about anything that Whaley was against Marrone benching EJ. And that's the guy this fanbase wants picking their next QB? Yeah and very fortunate to get the banged up Panthers in the SB That team was the truth Badol. Player for player, they were better than the Bills. They caught some breaks but so does everybody who wins a Super Bowl. Including the Pats.

He found a QB, and put in key pieces around him. The Buffalo Bills do not value winning veteran leadership out of their FA's. They were on the cusp with a young QB who most believed was "the guy," and they went out and got the key pieces they needed to contend. Bruce Irvin (Seahawks), Sean Smith (Chiefs), Osmele (Ravens), Malcolm Smith (Seahawks). Perennial playoff vets, 3 of them with rings as key contributors. How many do the Bills have? Corey Graham? And we continue to wonder year after year, why does this team roll over when they get punched in the mouth? Why does this team come out flat with playoff hopes on the line? It starts in the lockerroom and it starts with the lack of veteran leadership. Kyle can't do it all on his own.

Shady: PFF "a bunch of nerds" for leaving him off top 101

"Payton, who has had real success in the NFL, caters to his players' strengths. Crazy concept I know. Spiller is the best all around rb Payton has ever had. Sproles was a bit player before NO. Barring injury, a real concern for Spiller, he will have a monster year. And it will be another strike against what a joke our offense was under Marrone." "But Sean Payton and Chip Kelly are thought of on the same level as Doug Marrone around the league as elite offensive coaches. :)" I love this place. -
No. He sucked with every coach he's had. His two best games were his first two. That's enough.
-
He had Roman and Lynn, two respected coaches for 2 years. And still sucked. He's done.

Kirk Cousins wants out of Washington
FireChan replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has 7 game winning drives in 2 years. 4 in 2016. One game don't mean nothing. -
If you watch his two bad games and his two good games, he looks different? What happened between Pitt and Philly? Or Oakland and NYG?

Alex Smith can't sniff Flacco's jock in the postseason. Which is why grouping him, along with two QB's who can't even get their teams to the postseason, with Flacco is crazy, to me. Flacco is in that 15-18 range for me, right now. The thing is, once you get past Rodgers, Brees, Brady and usually Roethlisberger, everyone goes up and down. Rivers was probably the 5th best QB in the NFL 3 years ago. 4 years ago, he dropped to 15-18. 6 years ago, he was in the top 8. They're like stocks. Once you get past the dominant, record breaking, surefire HoFers, no one is consistently really good across a 5 year period. Hell, Eli moves 10 spots almost yearly. Kirk was 20-27 3 years ago. The thing that matters is ceiling and floor. Smith has a high floor and low ceiling. He's more consistent, but never dominates. Flacco and Eli? Lower floors with exponentially higher ceilings. Those guys can go throw for throw with Brady/Rodgers when they're hot. Alex Smith can't. Ryan Tannehill can't. Tyrod Taylor can't. -

Alex Smith has thrown 6 TD's in the Super Bowl? The argument to throw out Flacco's incredible year is nonsense. Did he got hot at the right time? Yes. Is it indicative of how he performs week in and week out? No, it's not. But you know who hasn't shown the ability to get hot for 4 games straight, win shootouts against playoff teams, and singlehandedly win a Super Bowl? Alex Smith, Tyrod Taylor and about 90% of all other QB's in history. But just to humor you, if you take out Flacco's incredible run, his postseason record is still 6-5. Alex Smith's is 2-4. Smith has the uncanny ability to consistently win games in the regular season and not the postseason. That puts him above guys like TT and Tanny. Flacco has the uncanny ability to dominate far beyond his average game when the stage is the biggest and deliver postseason wins. That puts him above guys like Smith. Isn't it nice being on the correct side for once? -

No Kirby, anyone who wins a Superbowl while posting the most impressive postseason performance stat line of all time, while consistently being a winner in the postseason, who has made the playoffs 6/9 years in his career in a division with two other perennial playoff teams, is elite. -
No, that's you saying that he had two good games. Where was the progression in the other 14 games on the schedule?
-
Why does keeping TT mean we have to draft Whitner? Who was the best player on that top 5 D, John? McDougle's last defense was 21st in yards and 26th in points. TT was better in 2015 when there was no film on him. Why is he gonna get better?
-
That's a lot of if's. If TT plays at a 2016 level If the defense plays at a high level If the rookie isn't as good as TT out of the box.
-
So who cares if we have a "down year" going from TT to a rookie?
-
You don't draft a player for his first year contribution, but for his career, right?

Dareus -"I feel like they don't want me to here." -
I don't hate any Bill. I just think TT can't play QB. He's a wildcat college athlete who can throw. Give me a guy who can make checks, audible, protection, and go through their reads any day of the week over backyard football.

Do you think he recognizes how that flies in the face of his Shaq Lawson stance?
