  1. Watch out my friend. Beerball banned me for many days for saying something someone said was "silly". Saying it is stupid might be enough to get a ban for life here.
  2. Doesn't matter. They'll drop a nickel into a soft zone on either side to take care of Welker.
  3. Then I would buy an extra pair of pants, because he already has the skill set to be one, and he will be one by the end of the season.
  4. Aaron will be one of the top 10 best CB's in the NFL in 2012.
  5. I knew Eric Moulds personally, and well there is a reason why he didn't retain residence in the area. Remember Tom Donahoe receiving death threats?
  6. Many people will be offended, but he is absolutely right. I love Buffalo and the people in it with all of my heart, but it truly is an acquired taste. You either grew up here or you didn't. That's it.
  7. Byrd is under-appreciated by many Bills fans due to his exception ball hawk skills in his rookie year and the diminishing returns in subsequent seasons. However, he has improved and excelled in so many other areas, many so small that they are easily forgotten once the play or game is over. However, those small things are what win games. One example would be Byrd tapping the ball out of Brandon Marshalls hands in the endzone. Small, not flashy, easily forgotten, but incredibly important.
  8. Edit: sorry, about that. Didn't realize we cant post pictures on this forum? Those links lead you to inside pictures. Absolutely beautiful. Not bad...
  9. There is only 15 practices open to the Public this season and just 5 of them are on a weekend. The last practice is on August 14th. Considering there is on average two practices cancelled (or moved inside) each Camp, that leaves only 13 days for a chance to see the team. I thought last year a fluke with Gailey only scheduling 14 practices, as he scheduled 20 practices in his first year. However, it looks like that wasn't the case so if your interested in seeing the team live, you may want to take off of work now. We all know how fast the days go by and before you know it, Camp will be over. Go Bills!
  10. It's not the 3800 yards or 23 TD's that drag a team down. It's the 25 turnovers. Especially the 9 TD's and 15 Interceptions in the second half of the season.
  11. Oops, I think you DID lead with your head on that hit Vilma ... $50,000 fine. Well, I think you DID try to intentionally hurt the QB on that sack Vilma ... 5 game suspension. Etc. Retaliation is often not so outwardly obvious.
  12. I think you're wrong. Bell is a GOOD tackle. He is an above average right tackle and an average left tackle. He played very well last season and actually put up better numbers than many Pro Bowl tackles. His foot work has improved greatly since he first entered training camp a few years ago, and his hips are now in line with his lower body chopping. He has improved greatly. $4 million over 2 years is not the salary of a very good LT. A very good LT makes quadruple that. The problem is clearly two fold: 1) Fans will do whatever it takes to bolster credit for the team and GM. Admitting they may have made a mistake hurts their ego. 2) Fans don't tend to know what a fair value is. Saying $4 million over 2 years is unreasonable is simply ridiculous. The average starting Left Tackle in the NFL makes $4 million PER SEASON. Demetress Bell signed a contract to make $4 million over TWO seasons. This is not a case of the Eagles handing Bell a large amount of money. They handed him a VERY modest contract. He is being paid like an average RT. Which is less than he is. He is an above average RT. The Eagles got a deal. If the Bills front office made Bell an offer that they believed was fair for an adequate LT, and it was less than what the Eagles offered Bell, then I am very worried. The Eagles offered Bell a contract worthy of an average to below average right tackle. The average starting LT in the NFL makes double what the Eagles are paying Bell.
  13. What is a reasonable cost for Bell? $4 million over 2 years, and no guaranteed money after the first year? That's what Philly gave him. I think you hit the nail on the head. What makes you think that? Football players, and people in general, make decisions based on more than just money. Bell did not get a lucrative deal by ANY means. He could have liked Philadelphia, the organization, a guaranteed starting position at LT...etc. In fact, I just read this on ProFotballTalk... "...details of the contract make it seem like he’s being viewed as a one-year replacement for his predecessor at left tackle in both Buffalo and Philadelphia. It’s a five-year deal between Bell and the Eagles, but, like many other long-term deals, the chances of Bell seeing the full run of the contract are pretty slim. Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com reports that the deal will pay Bell $3.25 million in salary and bonuses in 2012 with no guaranteed money beyond this season." Very good deal for Philly. They could CUT him after this season and owe him NOTHING.
  14. What's the gamble? Philly is giving Bell $3 million this season and $1 million next season. I wouldn't call that a gamble. I would call that a steal.
  15. Perhaps they did, I may have missed it. The Eagles are paying Bell $3.25 million this season, and with ZERO guaranteed money after this season. After that, he will make $1 million in 2013, and $6 million in 2014. That is a VERY reasonable contract for a player of his potential and current value. IF the Bills could have signed him to that same deal and did not, I would be very, very disappointed in them.
  16. Polian was fired years before Kelly retired. Bill is a very good GM and is very respected in NFL circles. He turned around the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, and Indianapolis Colts. He is multiple time NFL executive of the year award winner, and was the GM for 6 Super Bowl's and 8 Championship games in the last 25 years. His resume speaks for itself. I like Nix. I like Polian.
  17. They were a top 10 Offensive Line last season and I believe they will get better this season. They made a mistake in not re-signing Bell. I to this day do not understand their thinking. He played at a very high level and was not asking for a unreasonable contract. Even with Glenn, there is no such thing as too much offensive or defensive line depth.
  18. Injuries. Gailey disagrees with you.
  19. “People are automatically saying that concussions did this — or that the transition away from the game did this — but it is all speculation,” Thomas said. “We don’t know what did this. How can we know? We have to have facts before jumping to conclusions. I never want to take a shot at the game that made me, that’s been so good to me. It’s an awesome game.”
  20. Tanney ran a 4.96 Ryan Fitzpatrick ran a 4.86 40 yard dash. That difference is so minuscule you would miss it without having a high speed camera. Being fast and being mobile are not inclusive. You can have a fast QB who simply can not seem to ever get out of trouble because he can't read the a tackles shoulders, and has no down field vision. Fitzpatrick is not very fast, but he does look likes he has a quick step on the football field because he has good down field vision and can create space.
  21. ... time. Be outspoken. Dont sit in the corners. Let the coaches, scouts and players know your name. Let them know that anything they need help with, you can do it for them. Tell them that you are willing to work extra hours beyond your internship to help them cut game tape or do copies for game plans so forth. This will put you as the front runner for whatever scout internship comes in future.

  22. Paul, I would apply for the Redskins internship immediately. They will receive hundreds of applications for it. At the very least, you will then be a Redskins employee, have a chance to meet and talk to coaches, scouts and players, and get yourself well known within the Redskins community. Work hard. Be "the buy" everyone comes to when they need something done right and done the first t...

  23. That kid is the real deal. The Buffalo Bills did right by him.
