  1. I'm sorry, but Jimmy Garoppolo was on that list. Gonna "shape the NFL season," is he?
  2. This would be a heartbreaking move. Then again: What could we get with three first round picks in 2018?
  3. That's a minor distinction. can·na·bis ˈkanəbəs/ noun a tall plant with a stiff upright stem, divided serrated leaves, and glandular hairs. It is used to produce hemp fiber and as a psychotropic drug. a dried preparation of the flowering tops or other parts of this plant, or a resinous extract of it ( cannabis resin ), used (generally illegally) as a psychotropic drug, chiefly in cigarettes.
  4. Some worthy off-season discussion: Yesterday, I had the pleasure of working on a PSA for an organization called the Gridiron Cannabis Foundation. We interviewed eight former NFL players, all of whom advocate for (and unapologetically use) medical marijuana, including Eben Britton, Chris Kluwe, Kyle Turley, Mark Restelli, Boo Williams, Ricky Williams, and Jim McMahon. Jim McMahon is an especially vocal advocate. He suffers from significant nerve damage (he found out later in life that he had played for a period of time with a broken neck!). At one point, while we were taping him in front of a teleprompter, his legs began shaking so badly, he almost fell over. I talked at length with Eben Britton about Seantrel Henderson's situation. In fact, there is a growing body of evidence that shows that cannabis is one of the most effective treatments for many of the symptoms of Crohn's disease, with few side effects. Henderson is, perhaps, one of the best examples of the need for cannabis reform. The biggest point these guys had to make is that many players are compelled to use medications such as opioids, and others, many of which have lasting side effects such as liver, and kidney damage. Eben Britton relayed a story to me of a player he knows, who was faced with a choice between a literal handful of daily pills, versus marijuana use-- and for him there was no contest. It seems to me that the NFL could be out in front of this issue, and helping to inspire a national discussion that could help a lot of people. Instead, they are handing people suffering from disease, like Seantrel Henderson, ten game suspensions, and significant fines, and loss of income. Thoughts?
  5. That guy was trying to tackle? I thought he had seen a quarter on the ground and was diving for it.
  6. Earlier today, as of this writing, I had the pleasure of meeting several former NFL players, including Ricky Williams, and Jim McMahon, shooting a PSA for a group called the Gridiron Cannabis Foundation. Also among the players was former RT, Eben Britton. I asked him what he thought about Seantrel's situation, and he had a lot to say. He related to me examples of players who had the choice between cannabis, or a literal handful of daily pills, many of which carried both short and long-term side effects. There is a compelling argument to be made that the banning of marijuana for medical use is cruel, and immoral.
  7. Kujo's release makes me sad. He started out his Bills career so bad that his O-line coach called him Venus De Milo to his face. But, he worked his tail off in the offseason, and has gotten progressively better every season since. Hope he lands somewhere, pants intact.
  8. For the record, I was a big fan of KW when he was a Bill (wasn't everybody?), and his mother and I were very disappointed in him when he couldn't keep himself together. In retrospect, however, could his record-breaking rookie year be one more indication that our system at that time made it very easy for RBs to succeed? Would KW have had the same level of success in any other system?
  9. Isn't he now a KNOWN over-eating, out-of-shape pothead?
  10. And we switch to a 4/3 under a different DC; our #2CB becomes our #1; our nickel competes for #2 with our first round rook; all of our LBs compete for starting roles; there is certainly no guarantee that Brown starts, let alone wears the headset, and neither of our DEs are set in stone. And, of course, as you said, two new safeties. That's not exactly ordinary roster turnover, is it?
  11. Be that as it may... Offensively, there is very little competition for starting rolls, barring some unforeseen, rubber matt style circumstance. We know who is starting at every position save RT, and #2WR, plus whomever is going to be the eleventh position on the field (FB?). Defensively, sure seems like a rebuild.
  12. If he plays outside, it will be because he beat out White for #2, right? But, even if that is the case, how does Seymour playing outside, as opposed to nickel, discount the PFF assessment?
  13. Or there's a revolving door at OBD that takes two years to go around... and around... and around... and around...and around...
  14. The funnier thing is that if you didn't see the sarcasm in my post, it doesn't actually matter.
  15. I don't like that his name is Brandon.
  16. I will give Beane the same benefits given to Whaley from much of this fan base-- especially since he is clearly the cause of our constant pattern of failure. Sheesh, what a joke this guy is!!! HANG HIM!!!
  17. Link not working. I'm still depressed.
  18. Is this going to be a new crusade? If so, count me as a passenger on the Josh Woodrum train. He's going to be the next Tom Brady*, but without all the asterisks.
  19. One of these four statements is correct.
  20. Y'all could probably put the Mahommes crusade on hold for a little while.
  21. I'm not so sure that Yates has to tank in order to be cut, if they saw more potential in Jones and Kelly-- both could have a high ceiling. It's been said, and seems likely that Yates was primarily brought in because of his familiarity with Dennison's system. That shouldn't be such an issue in September, right?
  22. You have no idea who you're talking to.
  23. All of a sudden, everybody is panicking, and worried we won't draft a QB. No one's going to draft Kelly before the fifth, if at all. He has an injured wrist on his throwing hand, and won't be able to play through training camp. With all the other issues, what team (other than the Bills) is going to risk a flyer on that?
  24. I'm at work. I've got it cued up on my DVR, and I've warned everyone that I will stab them if they let loose with any spoilers.
