  1. Stay lit all the way through "Free Bird."
  2. Well, see that's the problem. They're spending too much of the money on other stuff so they stopped subsidizing the hair dressers and did a lifetime buy of Flowbee's from some guy who was liquidating them off of one of those shopping channels, and handed them out instead. Those people are lucky because the next generation will just get bowls....
  3. Kids were probably fighting over the last bacon BBQ burger...
  4. And, unfortunately for him, he joins the growing list of people who cannot get personalized jerseys from the NFL....
  5. It's always about the forbidden fruit to you, isn't it...?
  6. A wealthy hairdresser, a native Alaskan, left his entire estate to his home state to ensure that every Alaskan got free hair styling for life...
  7. In a related story, the average price of said lighters has gone up to $10.
  8. What "facts" you have presented revolve around two things: 1.) a downward trend on recruitment, 2.) an upward trend in public support for the War in Iraq. How does that "fly in my face?" Sounds like, from the data you present, the more people support the war, the fewer recruits we get... The other "fact" that you hide is that it is only the Army that is failing to meet its recruitment goals. The other branches are doing fine, even exceeding goals. Source: http://www.military.com/NewsContent/0,1331..._040105,00.html If public protests by strangers are the key factor in people not enlisting (and not fear of dying in combat), why is it that only the branch that is most heavily engaged in combat is having trouble meeting their goals? Everything I've read points not to demonstrators as the greatest external influence on a person's reasons to enlist, but family and clergy. I haven't even seen public demonstrations mentioned, even in studies done for the government....So you are saying if you, as a parent of an eligible recruit, are not marching said son or daughter to the recruitment office to sign up for the Army, you are unpatriotic, not doing your duty, let alone if you do anything to come between the recruiter and your son or daughter? Is there absolutely no connection between public protests and recruitment? I will not say that, but the effect is negligible relative to other factors. You have yet to point to any fact that undeniably correlates it. I have shown facts to the contrary. What protesting and speaking out against government policies does is inform the government that it does not have carte blanche to invade any country that "looks at us wrong." I'm sorry, but I cannot accept that, in order to "attain our goal" of making Iraq more like America that America needs to be more like pre-War Iraq.
  9. No, no, no, the Constitution only applies to those who have served. Didn't you read the fine print? The rest of us have to blindly follow the leadership or be un-Patriotic. So, about half the country is unpatriotic...
  10. I've lost my score card. Should I be apologizing to Lance Corporal Mike Hoffman, and hundreds like him, or should I be calling them unpatriotic? Why isn't IVAW being shut down as a treasonous organization?
  11. But the available data is false, making his assertions true...oops, wrong thread...sorry.
  12. Yeah, RVJ's thread below has the games listed in order, he just doesn't have the dates next to them (so you can see the Saturday games and the BYE).
  13. With the note that Cin and Denver are Saturday games and the bye coming after the "NE Prime Time Massacre, 2005 edition," you're right, according to what I have.

  15. That's two more teams that we won't open against (they face Miami opening weekend). We're down to 8 potential teams for the opener: NYJ, Car, Hou, KC, Cin, NO, SD, TB.
  16. Not about him, but directed at him (related to him).....big difference...
  17. ...and just to catch you in advance, in case you watch NBC tonight, the mini-series "Revelations" is also fiction.
  18. This is kinda disappointing, as it was fun last year trying to put together the schedule before it came out... Now the only thing we know is that the opener won't be against New England, Oakland or Atlanta...
  19. Reminds me of an old poem: One bright day in the middle of the night, two dead boys got up to fight. Back to back they faced each other. Drew their swords and shot each other. A deaf policeman heard the noise, came and shot the two dead boys. If you don't believe this lie is true ask the blind man, he saw it too...
  20. Yeah, and I saw a TV special on Sci-Fi network. It was a documentary about a video camera that was discovered with some disturbing footage of three student filmmakers who had been missing for a year. According to this documentary, the footage was being released to the public under the name The Blair Witch Project. The Official Web Site backs up those claims.... Do you think what he said in the TV special helped sell more books? Do you think it would have affected sales if he just came out and said "I just came up with a bunch of crap and put it together with stuff that looked like facts figuring that the public would buy it hook, line and sinker."?
  21. Hey, I gotta hand it to Willis, trying to endear himself to the local fans by playing the second most popular indoor recreational activity in WNY....
  22. Ugh, I remember the whole friggin' mess trying to get from BITNET to the Internet using hard-coded UUCP paths...that was 1987. This was Fredonia, but the same lame system. When I got over to the Vax systems running 4.3 BSD Unix in 1988 it was much better... Fez, I got out of college in 1991 and at that point USENET and mailing lists were "it." I virtually missed gopher entirely when I entered the working world, only discovering it shortly before I stumbled across the WWW....don't even remember what year...I would have guessed '94...it was before I got married...
  23. pre-AOL is more like it. Virtually pre-WWW...I believe it was still text-only at that point...too lazy to look it up, I'm sure Fez will correct me with the date as he probably has it memorized...
  24. So what position does he play? What round should he go in? What's the OurLads assessment?
