Hollywood’s disconnect with reality
Dante replied to whateverdude's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No shite. Ive always been skeptical of SJP. First thing that always comes to mind when I see her on tv is that she has to be related to someone powerful in Hollywood. No way she gets these parts based on her looks or acting ability alone. She's mediocre to bad on both counts. She's the exact opposite of Charlize Theron -
46% of Americans believe in creation

I guess I've just never had any religious person be aggressive with me. Personally, a supernatural overlord doesn't make sense to me. So I don't believe in it. I do think that having a moral code to live by, no matter it be from a religious belief or otherwise, is a good thing. I know there are kooky religions out there that plant bombs on planes, blow up boats and buildings and such, but as far as I know, Christianity in this country has never carried out acts like this. Because of this I have nothing against them and they don't bother me and they can do what they do. If it makes them happy and their life is better because of it, more power to 'em. So to speak. -

What? They have to pay 12.5% of their medical now? This is a heavy cost? -

If people want to believe that fine with me. They're not hurting me so what do I care. -
Does Obama deserve political credit for getting Bin Laden?
Dante replied to Juror#8's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Should have qualified that any decent prez would have done it. Unfortunately we haven't had one of those in over 20 years. Your right. My bad. It was not a difficult decision and bringing up the failure s of other presidents is no argument. I don't know the circumstances of the Bush situation and either does your insignificant ass. So don't pretend like you do. It was a easy decision and even a schmuck like yourself would be capable of making the correct one. Barry isn't capable of making any tough decisions. He hasn't had to make any all his life. A student. Then a "community organizer" aka instigator. Then a senator. Never had to turn a buck himself. Never ran a business where making difficult decisions is as daily occurrence. Hasn't done shite so to give this idiot credit for anything that requires balls or knowledge is laughable. -

Hey, I'm tired of you Canadians flaunting your education thingy all over. No one likes a show off! -
I don't want to enable the government to be our keeper. I can make my own choices. I assume the plan is, since they will be supplying health care, they now have justification to control our diets. What's next?

Obama had as much to do with getting Bin Laden as Chan Gailey does with a smooth running beer vendor at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Anyone would have given that go ahead and btw wasn't there a memo that illustrated how Barry covered his ass if something went wrong? If the commander perceived any additional risk he was to inform Barry before proceeding with the mission. -
Leaders seem to be getting more and more brazen in their arrogance. I guess if they can dictate what soda size you can consume they can justify telling us to do just about anything.

When I see a picture of him he looks like he could be nothing else except a football player. Straight out of central casting in Hollywood

****. Not again!

I'm not sure. Give me an example of what your talking about.

Yes I agree. Not when it comes to change our basic way of life spelled out by the Constitution. Socialism, communism can't really be tolerated because it's opposite to individual liberty and the constitutional republic. I don't believe there can be any compromise on this. But I agree with you that most all other ideas have to be at least tolerated.

This guy is so arrogant he just doesn't care anymore what anyone thinks. He's got the balls to criticize Romney for Donald Trump? This slime he's honoring is a honorary chair of the Democratic Socialist Party. Where is Joe McCarthy when you need him? That guy was not bad at all he had it just about right. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/05/29/obama_honors_socialist_leader_at_wh_says_he_stole_her_yes_we_can_slogan.html

WTF? I'm the most cynical when it comes to the Bills and even I'm excited for the upcoming season.

Especially with someone like Chef Jim floating around. I'd love for him to share some

Damn. Ok. Should have posted there although I wouldn't really classify it as a tailgate thing. He looks pretty organized over there so I will let him move it if he wants

Not good etiquette to post this stuff? Can't hurt to much can it?

This one is a little different but I really enjoy it. Making it tonight. Its very simple as far as putting together but it is labor intensive with all the slicing chopping and so on. You will definitely have to go to the market for veggies and herbs. I can't take credit for this because I copied it off my brother. Not sure if it's his or not. We usually serve it with nice sliced bbq's pork chops. Thick ones. No special seasoning on those but I wouldn't do a bbq sauce or anything. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a forum for people to post recipies. Ingredients 2 Onions 2 Peppers 1 Jalapeno 1 Pack Mushrooms 1 Zuchini 6 Celery Sticks 2 Cans Tomatos Italian Parsley 1 Bunch Fresh Basil 1 Bunch Fresh Oregano 1 Pack FreshThyme 2 Bay Leaves Rosemary 1 tblspoon crushed fennel 1 tbspoon Sugar Salt Pepper 1 Cup Wine Directions Cut up all veggies and put in large pan. Saute until soft. Add Tomato's and Rosmary, Thyme, Oregano, Bay Leaves, Sugar, Fennel Seed, Cup Wine. Bring to boil. Then let simmer for 30mins. Then put pasta on. Add basil, Italian parsely and garlic. Let simmer until pasta is done. See, told you it was simple.

I tried to find it at the Bianco site but it must be to old.

I've never heard of rense.com. I don't know their point of view be it leftard or conservative. I didn't bother to check out the rest of the site. I was just fascinated by the numbers that they got from Bianco Research showing how much each major event or expense cost. I mean, the website might be for shite but they do quote a outside source. Curious to what you think of them if the money total is bogus or not.

Since I don't watch any of the tv news networks anymore, has this story been reported? I doubt it but it may have been on Fox. Now I would watch tv news if Michelle Fields was on it. Easy on the eyes and she has a smart brain! http://dailycaller.com/2012/05/26/johnson-every-member-of-wisc-legislature-received-death-threats-video/

Obama must love it when a plan comes together. The more on the public payroll and dole, the better for him. As twisted as that logic is.

This is from articlequoting Bianco Research from late 2008 but it puts all these bailouts and the countries debt in perspective "And unprecedented-sized bailouts assure greater trouble ahead. Using inflation-adjusted numbers, Jim Bianco of Bianco Research said that bailout-related debt cost more than the following combined: -- the Marshall Plan - cost: $12.7 billion; inflation-adjusted cost: $115.3 billion; -- the Louisiana Purchase - cost: $15 million; inflation-adjusted cost: $217 million; -- NASA's Apollo human spaceflight program - cost: $36.4 billion; inflation-adjusted cost: $237 billion; -- the S & L crisis - cost: $153 billion; inflation-adjusted cost: $256 billion; -- the Korean War - cost: $54 billion; inflation-adjusted cost: $454 billion; -- the New Deal - cost: an estimated $32 billion; inflation- adjusted cost: an estimated $500 billion; -- the invasion and early months of the Iraq War (not the total war cost to date that's far higher) - cost: $551 billion; inflation- adjusted cost: $597 billion; -- the Vietnam War - cost: $111 billion; inflation-adjusted cost: $698 billion; and -- NASA since inception - cost: $416.7 billion; inflation-adjusted cost: $851.2 billion. Total: $3.92 trillion compared to around $8.5 trillion in bailout funds allocated or pledged thus far with these numbers certain to go higher."
