  1. No, people were running with the quote that Beane said he liked what he "brought to the defense" instead of what he brings, so of course that was interpreted as past tense and meant he was getting released to save the cap space. smh
  2. But but but...Beane talked about him in the past tense at his presser🤣 jfc
  3. Gotta see how he recovers. Until then you don't touch Rasul. Keep your options open, best bet is Beane keeping all of them this year. From the Athletic, here's how you do it: "There is a scenario to split the difference here and get the best of both worlds because of how cap strapped they are. To keep the player, not sacrifice the depth and have to settle for a potentially lesser player than White at third cornerback and save the same amount they would to cut him, and that’s by way of a non-guaranteed extension with a reworked first year. Coming off an Achilles injury, White’s best chance of maximizing his earnings this year is by staying in Buffalo. For the cap savings, the Bills can negotiate a non-guaranteed extension through 2027. By turning his $1.5 million roster bonus, $300K workout bonus and $4.14 million of his base salary into a signing bonus, they could prorate it through four years for immediate 2024 cap savings. His base salary in 2024 would be $1.21 million (the veteran minimum) and would be guaranteed. The other $3 million would transfer to earned incentives based on playing time parameters this season. Right now, White isn’t guaranteed a cent on his contract for 2024. By doing this deal, he would be guaranteed $7.15 million this season, with a chance to earn $3.25 million more through incentives and his per-game active bonus. And in doing all this, the Bills save $7.26 million on the 2024 cap — more than they’d save just by cutting him. So they get the cap space, keep the player, keep the depth and maintain the wiggle room of not needing to re-sign Douglas if the price gets too high and White could start in 2025 on a pay-as-you-go contract."
  4. Way too many “maybes”. There is no indication that Tre is going to be physically recovered. Where have you seen Beane say that? Because he did NOT indicate that in his interview where some believe his use of “past tense” indicates Rasul is a goner😂. Do you not think Beane can get a non-guaranteed extension with White to lower his 2024 cap hit? If that happens it’s more than feasible all of them are here in 2024, including Rasul at his contract number.
  5. Yep, we're gonna have different opinions on this. Beane spent literally 15 seconds on the Rasul question. Read the Buscaglia article - there is a path for all of them to be here next year.
  6. Ah yes, the “I enjoyed getting to know him!”😂. Is he supposed to say he’s still enjoying his company and looking forward to getting to know him better?! Ridiculous take, imho. It’s not like BBB to give up a 3rd for a rental. And who says he needs to be extended? He’s under contract. Also, this tidbit from someone who is actually closer to their thinking: “Currently, the only thing guaranteed is Douglas on the team for 2024.” Take a read of Buscaglia’s measured and reasoned CB review. This seems more likely: “The Bills would be best served to let the year play out and see how Douglas performs, Benford’s progress and how well White bounces back from injury before issuing any guaranteed new money to the cornerback position.”
  7. What exactly did you hear him say to make you think this?! Because he said what he “brought” to the defense, instead of what he “brings”? I’ve seen people running with that person’s interpretation, which is quite a stretch imo.
  8. I get the point. And I still think the point is we won’t know for years whether this pick turned out to be valuable or not, so I wouldn’t go around stating definitively this pick has very little value. Regardless of NIL they’re not cancelling day 3 of the draft.
  9. We have no idea who will be selected at #143 and how they will turn out in the NFL. So we can’t say this has very little value. Plenty of examples of guys selected in the 5th who have turned out to be quite valuable.
  10. Funny, they gave him that offer sheet that we matched.
  11. Right. He can go away now. Lost a little respect for him after he whined about Jordan Phillips being a dirty player for defending the tush push.
  12. Absolutely!! I can't believe how that interpretation has taken off. Quite a stretch for a few words: "I liked what he brought to our defense" and "it was a pleasure getting to know him." I guess he should have said "brings" not "brought" 😂 but at least he didn't say "it was a pleasure, nice knowing ya"😅 Just for the sake of another viewpoint, and that's all it is so take it for what it's worth, here's Buscaglia's take on Rasul: "Currently, the only thing guaranteed is Douglas on the team for 2024." I'd put more stock in that over some wild internet speculation twisting his words.
  13. Pretty much as expected. Jones is their priority.
  14. Why was the Diggs for Stevenson trade proposal thread deleted? I know it was ridiculous, but commentary was entertaining.
  15. We’ll see. Jones already said he’s coming back. I’m sure they’ll work something out.
  16. Interesting stat. What are the actual numbers?
  17. One thing to keep in mind is that Beane is probably going to be using a number of those later picks as part of a package to move up in the earlier rounds. Doesn't mean he can't use what he has left on a QB, but I wouldn't expect him to have 6 to just throw around.
  18. Kyle Allen I would see him as an upgrade to Kyle Allen. If they can release Allen and essentially swap salaries I'd consider the upgrade.
  19. Were you around in the early 90’s during the 4 straight Super Bowl appearances? They hated us.
  20. That's what I was wondering? Or is it heart + courage = Trubisky🙂
