  1. When you posted "what he wrote was not true," I thought clarification may be in order.
  2. Are you saying: The underlying incident never happened? PM's former teammate never testified the way he did? The ghost writer never testified the way he did? The woman never lost her job at the Florida college as described? P.S. I do not necessarily disagree that the reason this is coming out again now is that the writer has an agenda - but that does not mean that the underlying event did not happen as opposed to the reason why it is being brought up again now.
  3. Manning is lucky the original incident happened before Twitter etc. I had heard about this before (about a year or two ago or so). I wonder if Manning is drinking a bunch of Budweisers right about now . . . . My reaction to Florio's piece - after having many of my posts re deflategate mysteriously removed from his site, I wondered whether he would have written the same thing if it involved Tom Brady.
  4. You may be 100% correct. On the other hand, I presume that they are not going to mind having their names in the paper when they bring a civil lawsuit.
  5. That is what Rodney King and many others thought. This is just an observation. Of course, in that instance, it was the police who were doing the beating. I have no idea whether one side was entirely at fault or both were at fault etc. I do find it interesting that the off duty policy officers waited so long . . . . It will be interesting to learn more about what happened and the people involved.
  6. It is a bit bizarre that: 1) It took so long for the off duty police officers to report this; 2) It is taking so long for the arrest warrant (if it is indeed going to come). I have a feeling that the DA is being extra cautious and does not want this to blow up in their faces -- if, in fact, an arrest warrant is to come.
  7. I listened to the clip, but did not hear him say that. Maybe I missed it. I did find it interesting that Shady and his group were having dinner at the "Misconduct Tavern." Shady either has a sense of humor or it was a coincidence (given that it is near the police station apparently).
  8. Regarding calling 911: I presume that these off duty police officers have the direct number to police department and would be able to get officers there right away -- without having to call 911. Would that be incorrect?
  9. What is worse: hitting a wall or refusing to try? If there was a guaranty that Mario would not take the year off (and sign a more cap friendly deal), I would definitely consider wanting him back. If he is going to collect millions of dollars and refuse to try for most of the year, we may as well cut him so that we can re-sign guys that will actually try (e.g, Cordy and Richie) and risk that he signs with the Pats or someone else. Given Mario's limited production last year, it should not be difficult finding a player or combination of players who can have at least as much as Mario's 2015 production.
  10. My initial observation of the video: After watching both videos quickly, I am not able to draw any conclusions one way or the other. Maybe I have to spend more time watching them, but, at least at first glance, I do not see a whole lot to convict McCoy based on the videos themselves. He might be innocent or guilty as hell. I have no idea. As an aside: Shady is a great football talent. I was initially against not signing CJ, trading Kiko, and signing Shady to a contract that exceeds both of their contracts. When healthy, Shady was a dynamic runner. When he kissed the Eagle etc. at the game in Philly, I had that feeling that he would never feel that way about my team and hometown and he would always prefer to be in Philly over Buffalo. When this story broke yesterday, I found myself defending Shady (maybe because I am an attorney although not a criminal attorney). In the end, no matter what actually happened or did not happen here, I can say with just about 100% certainty that CJ never would have been involved in something like this (or even present at such a membership club). Shady is a dynamic runner, but I really hope that this incident is not a distraction throughout the off season or next season. If he is guilty, the Bills may have to move on (depending on what he is guilty of). If he is not guilty, I hope that this is established quickly.
  11. There is at least one person who is happy about this: Cam Newton. There are fewer people now talking about his jumping away from the fumble or his post game PC.
  12. There are a lot of great police officers out there. Nevertheless, do not kid yourself if you do not think that there is at least a possibility that they are taking care of their own in this instance.
  13. The following is from the report apparently: "When Butler 'moved to another location with his bottle,' former Pitt football player Tamarcus Porter 'approached him and tried to pull the bottle from his hand.'” This seems odd. Could be true, but it smells like something a police officer would put in a report to protect another police officer. Shady has plenty of money. His friends have no reason to try to take a champagne bottle from anyone else.
  14. That is what I suspect. Shady and his group could have been completely wrong . . . but, the fact that the cops are seeking to arrest them really means nothing as to who is at fault until we learn more.
  15. Now that Chip is gone, is this Shady's way of saying that he wants to stay in Philly?
  16. I have no idea what happened here, but serious question: In situations like this, do the police ever seek to arrest the off duty police officers?
  17. FWIW - below is a link to the Recess Lounge. It is a "members only" club. http://recessloungephilly.com/ I also found this tidbit: "Recess is a privilege, and what happens behind these doors, stays here." Apparently, that is not correct. http://philly.cities2night.com/places/details/9756/0/recess-lounge
  18. If I were the cops, I would not want to "cop" to that.
  19. How many times has a QB who won the MVP lost the SB or not made the SB?
  20. Were there beach chairs involved?
  21. You may want to listen to Wade's interview with John Murphy last week.
  22. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. The question other teams have to ask is how much are they willing to pay a guy who may go on strike/give no effort if he decides he is unhappy? As someone who used to defend Mario, Mario owes the Bills another season given that he got paid even though he took last year off. I guess Mario thought that he was on the Doug Marrone plan.
