  1. Using that stat seems very misleading to me. First of all, many who are high on that list are short-yardage / goalline specialists. For example, Mike Gillislee is #3 in that category among RB's. That makes absolutely no sense considering who his QB is, unless you consider that Gillislee has received many (maybe even most) of his reps either on 2nd/3rd and short or in the red zone. Meanwhile, who has been the Bills' running back on the goal line this season? It's been mostly Tubby Tolbert. Despite that, Shady is 7th in the league in facing 8-man fronts among RB's with at least 100 rush attempts. Not a trick. Follow along with the conversation. Context, my friend. The average rank of at least five categories: DYAR, passer rating, passing yards per game, adjusted net yards per pass attempt, and sack percentage. And maybe QBR.
  2. Standard: Making progressions at an average NFL starter level speed, little-to-no hesitancy in delivering a consistently accurate ball to receivers that are not necessarily wide open, and the ability to consistently win games when asked to throw for the average number of pass attempts per game (36 pass attempts in 2016).
  3. Also : If you want to blame McCoy's issues on facing a stacked box, forget it. Like everything else there's a stat for that, and McCoy has ranked down in the 20s all season in frequency facing 8-or-more. Please provide a link to this information because I don't believe it for a second. The O-line's virtues never extended to pass protection. Yes, Taylor sometimes takes too long to pass, but quarterbacks slightly better or worse at Time to Throw still get sacked at a much lower rate. Why would you guess that is? Taylor holds the ball longer than any quarterback in the league year after year. The OLine gets no credit for giving Taylor all that time to find receivers and finally pull the trigger that he so desperately needs? Right now Taylor is eleventh by the NFL's passer rating. Who above him has done more with less? No one. Thursday night's opposing quarterback, for one.
  4. We all hope the defense keeps forcing turnovers and giving the offense the ball in opposing territory but it's not likely.
  5. Taylor is currently 29th in the league in passing yards per game. Only five quarterbacks who have started a game this season averages less than 165 yards per game: Deshone Kizer (rookie), CJ Beathard (rookie), Joe Flacco, Kevin Hogan and Mitch Trubisky (rookie).
  6. That's one statistic. And I could be wrong but I don't see anyone saying he sucks. There's a lot of space between "sucks" and "has yet to show that he can carry a championship franchise."
  7. This is false. Watch the All-22. Tyrod pumpers can't make a case for him without disparaging his teammates. It's unfortunate.
  8. "Talent starved offense" His running back is a future Hall of Famer who feels as good/healthy as ever. His OLine is the same one that was considered a Top 5 unit in 2015 and 2016. His #1 wide receiver led the Eagles receivers in receptions the last two years. It's far from great but "talent starved offense" is hyperbole. Taylor's ability to "keep plays alive" is exciting but I'd rather have a QB who finds the open man and gets the ball out before he's forced to work his scrambling magic. "The entire country appreciates the job he's doing" because no one thought anything of him going into this season and to the winning quarterback go the spoils. I remember when the Bills started the 2008 season 4-0 and Trent Edwards was getting national praise as an MVP candidate.
  9. It would mean they can't do worse than 6-10. That's it.
  10. I call it as I see it. I'm not going to apologize for that. So many other players deserve so much more praise for their performances yesterday that contributed to the win but won't because they're not the quarterback. Taylor made a few good throws/decisions yesterday and I said as much in the Shoutbox as it happened. But the bottom line is that we need to see more of that if we're going to truly compete for the playoffs/championships. We're not going to face bottom five defenses every week going forward, nor will we be able to force four turnovers every game. Taylor won't be able to hold the ball all day against better defenses. And when he does throw has to be more consistently accurate.
  11. Bucs - #32 Raiders - #29 "two of the worst" mmmm yes http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef
  12. Funny how much credit a starting QB gets for a team win. Despite only accounting for 166 total yards we have people singing his praises. Aside from a couple of drives and a few gutsy plays I thought Taylor played poorly. He was facing one of the worst pass defenses in the league and was extremely hesitant to throw for most of the game. The OLine did a great job protecting him. Had to settle for field goals when the game was still undecided despite turnovers putting the offense in position to score touchdowns to put the game out of reach much earlier on a silver platter. Thank God for those turnovers. He should've had an interception himself but Matthews made an unbelievable play to knock the ball out of the corner's hands at the last second. Soon these "forced" turnovers from the defense/special teams will dry up. Will Tyrod be able to carry this team when that happens? If he's truly up to the task then he hasn't shown it yet.
  13. Keep in mind we've also faced two of the worst defenses in the NFL the last two games.
  14. If the turnovers are sustainable because of the coaching then McDermott would be the first coach in NFL history to accomplish this feat and should earn 5x what he is currently making. Chances are, this is not the case. But we can always hope.
  15. A concussion suffered during a preseason game. Weeks after the mat incident.
  16. Edwards had the best game of his career the week after his concussion. His career hit a downslide when he faced 3-4 defenses and he was never able to adjust to defensive schemes that took advantage of his indecisiveness and love for the checkdown pass. The concussion is a convenient excuse but it's become a myth. Like how Kevin Kolb's career ended by slipping on a mat.
  17. I could easily see this team lose the next five games. People need to calm the hell down. Remember 2008 and 2011.
  18. Contact high probably.
  19. It means he's not bad enough to release, but he's not good enough to accomplish much with. You keep him around until you have a true franchise quarterback ready to take his starting job.
  20. Look how high Dareus was in this post-contract-signing interview with Chris Brown back in 2015. We should have known... http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Watch-Marcell-Dareus-Signs-Contract-Extension/877f1a83-50ce-4dff-bda3-ae666bb74d1b
  21. We didn't pay a guy $100 million to be a damn anchor.
  22. I sure as hell ain't rooting for Marrone. No they don't.
